Newly certified

• Upvotes

Hello everyone I am a new to the realm of fire arms because I was never allowed to have any in my household. I recently got certified for work on 40 cal . And I’m looking to buy my own handgun since I’ll need it for the future requal. Thing is I live in California and I know it’s more difficult out here. I’m looking for any suggestions on what to buy and specific places/ stores/ armory’s you guys get them from I was hoping Springfield or a smith and Wesson but I’m open to suggestions. I was trained with glocks but I hear that’s not readily available. I’m also willing to travel to go to these specific stores but Bay Area based. And also if you guys have any pages, YouTubers, websites that help with the knowledge and honing of my skills I’d love to know. Ty!

Question Why the guns?

I am just curious as to why you bought your guns (not the hows and the whats) because I am thinking if I do need one. I would like to read your reasons so I can decide.

Help! MPA Defender FRT won't fit

Post image
1 Upvotes

I bought the attached pic. It won't fit. I know I installed correctly but can no longer pull back the top cocking knob now only goes back half way. When the pin isn't in it goes all the way back. FRT is losing some paint from hitting it. What should I do to fix? Thank you.

My Gats Ditched the Grip Pod, I think it's better now

I had this AFG carved out when I made my last post but didn't like the first draft. I chopped a bit off and now it fits much better in the hand.

And yes I'll be putting the grip pod on for my wife as she very much likes firing supported. Hence the picatinny adapter out front.

Bond Arms "Rowdy" holster.

Got contacted by a client says he wants an owb paddle holster for a Bond Arms 45 colt/.410 Derringer.

Who carries something like this as a primary? Is there any sort of demand for this kind of holster? Now I have to sit down and figure out how to make this happen 🙄.

Question Holosun prices

I know holosun controls the prices and doesn't allow the major retailers to go below their official discount.

I've been looking for a he407c -x3-gr and the price is $249.99 on all major retailers and no coupons are allowed.

But if you go in gun.deals, you can email for price and there are several shops offering it for less than $200. Is that legit and these retailers don't care about the restrictions because they are too small for holosun to care? Or are these knockoff? Or I will pay them and never get the product?

Question Gun sound question.

I don't know much about guns so thought id come here and ask the experts.

I live right by a gun range and have gotten so used to the sound of gunshots that im pretty much deaf to them. But I heard one particular shot last week that stood out because it sounded so strange. It didnt repeat, just a single sound, almost like a cartoon gunshot.

If you've seen the Charlie Brown christmas specail, youll remember that scene when the kids were throwing snowballs at the tin can on the fence then Linus hits it by using his blanket as a sling. It was THAT sound almost exactly.

Was it a special bullet or perhaps a misfire? What makes a gunshot sound like that?

I want the PDW Saint Victor ($1300) but also saw the PSA($550). Would you pay the extra for the Saint Victor with how it comes, or get the PSA and upgrade it to be close to the Saint?

Question What do you guys think of this collection?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I've always been interested in hearing other people's opinions on stuff like this, so I figured I'd post it here and see what people think. There's a pretty interesting variety of firearms in the picture, and I'm curious how people with different levels of experience would view the collection overall.

Whether you're really into firearms or just have a general interest in them, I'd genuinely like to hear your thoughts. What's your first impression when you see the whole collection together? Is there anything that stands out to you, or is it just an average collection in your eyes?

I'm not trying to start an argument or anything. Just interested in hearing different perspectives from people in the community.

General Discussion Battle of the bullpup rifles

I created a semi comprehensive lists of bullpup rifles that were in service or on the civilian market. This will be a single elimination bracket. Place your vote this bracket was made at random. I tried to stay away from prototypes or one off rifles.

Edit: this is just today’s line up in a bracket I made. These are random match ups. Check back in tomorrow for the winner and post bullpups you want to see in the bracket in cases I missed some.
