Hello Everyone,
I hope your week is off to a good start and didn't sleep through your alarm this morning.....unlike myself.
There is something that I wanted to make a quick post about.
We have seen an increase in posts/comments from users trying to sell their firearms lately.
Just a quick reminder:
Firearm sales/trades are NOT allowed here.
Any post or comment involving the sale or trade of firearms will be removed and violations will result in a ban.
Note that valuations or thoughts on what something may be worth is still allowed. This only applies to directly advertising/offering a firearm for sale here for other users to buy.
Reddit has strict rules about this, and we need to follow them to keep the subreddit active and in good standing.
If you see someone trying to sell their rifles, please report them as I will likely miss a few.
.......Oh and making a sale post in another language doesn't help evade this either......
Thanks for your cooperation!
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Does anybody have any idea how to fix this issue? After shooting the cocking handle sometimes slips out from the grooved piece. Now i have been trying to fix the sticking issue so i have to use some force to pull the spent case out, can that be the issue? The bolt is not matching as far as i know and isnt serialized but it is all stamped with tula markings.

I mounted a American scope on my Mosin using a BadAce Tactical mosin nagant rail it mounts into the rear sight and I used a medium relief scope mount but it sits to high up so I can't get a solid position to rest my head. So I'm shooting all over and can't get a group to reliably sight it in, dad says it could be the scope but he's not sure

I love the differences between these rifles, very interesting and always fun to look at.

I have an all matching numbers m38 with a barrel that I believe is too far gone. I just wanted to know how difficult it is to find a barrel for one that is in decent shape and from the same time period or should I just say screw it and keep it as is. It’s a clean rifle but definitely seen a lot of rounds. Any suggestions would be appreciated

So the last time I shot my mosin a few months ago I was having an issue where the 2nd or 3rd round would nose dive when I would try and cycle the round after firing the previous. I’ve had the rifle for 10 years and never had any issue until this year. Would it be the follower that’s bad on it? Or something else? Happens with steel or brass. I’m loading it by hand and not using stripper clips.

Is that even considered a mosin anymore? I don't understand the appeal at all

Good morning/evening to everyone, i posted earlier and was very happy with some of the info that people gave me on the mosin. Im not too up to date on what all to look for with pu mosins besides the СН stamping.
To start off i paid 1200 for this gun and think i did pretty ok on it, the bore is in ok shape with minimal pitting from what i can see with a flashlight. The bolt itself is very smooth but when i tried chambering rounds it was extremely stiff. I fired off two rounds and both of them required mortaring the bolt to extract the casing with the side wall of the case being chewed up a bit. The shooting of the gun itself felt good.
I asked a friend whos really into everything ww2 and has a good bit of knowledge and she said to first try cleaning the hell out of the bore and if that doesnt fix it it may be a burr in the chamber.
If anyone could give more info again on this gun that would be great, is the price reasonable for the condition its in? Im not worried if its real as both a few members in here and my friend confirmed it was. Is there anything to look for when i go to shoot it to get the scope dialed in?. Thank you all for the help!

I have a Mosin Nagant that my brother used corrosive military surplus ammo then put away without cleaning it. It sat in the safe for about a year.
I’m hoping to save it and would appreciate recommendations for cleaning products or methods to remove the rust. Has anyone dealt with something similar?
I’ve already ordered a carbon fiber cleaning rod, .30 caliber and 8mm bronze brushes, and bore mops.
Any advice would be appreciated!!
P.S. Lesson learned my brother’s Mosin privileges have been revoked.

Found a brand new (never issued or shot) M44 carbine at a gun shop. (Still has the grease all over it) Can’t believe the price for a mosin but had to add to the collection. I know lots of people will be upset at this but, I’m definitely going to shoot it at least once.

Hello everyone. I got a bayonet for Mosin today. I bought a set of three pieces (2 M44 + 1M91) for $60. Is there anyone among you who can identify the manufacturer of the M91 bayonet? I identified it as an early Chatellerault. I would appreciate your help!

I'm trying to set a fair price on a fake 91/30 "sniper" and decided to crowdsource a value since comps are all over the place.
'39 Tula with Finn capture marks but globe 'n' post sight. Bent bolt (after the fact) but with matching # for style points. Repro mount but authentic sight ('43 production, '64 refurb). Nice shiny bore. Matching # and CCCP circle on the stock.
So essentially a non-fully matching, non-refurbed Finn capture, pre-war 91/30 plus a refurbed scope and mount holes thrown in for good measure.
What'd your grab it, ponder, & walk away price points be?
MODS: Feel free to delete if this crosses the line. I'm not looking for takers, just a reasonable value.

Everywhere talks about “Balkan font” on stamped parts of the Balkan m91’s during my digging but I’m having a hard time finding photos of it online to compare. This bolt doesn’t match my Balkan scrubbed receiver/barrel but from what I’ve gathered is the correct font yeah?
