Anyone here remove the radial brake off of a gen 2 American and was it difficult or super easy and what did you replace it with?

I'd like to see pictures of different muzzle brakes and devices and see how they look.

I have a GP100 that I purchased just this year. I changed out the factory springs for the set from Wilson Combat, and added a Crimson Trace laser. I think it's a beautiful gun, but I'm not sure where it fits in my collection. Right now, it's my bedside gun. I like the idea of a bedside .357 Magnum when I might need to use it in the middle of the night. If there's a real threat, just grab, point, and pull the trigger.

However, I don't really like shooting it, it's a pain to clean, and ammo is expensive compared to 9 mm. Given that Ruger has discontinued this model, I'm wondering should I sell into a market starved of new production, or hold on to it. I have a 9 mm striker fired pistol I use for carry, and a shotgun in the closet, so it's not really needed, but since when does need have anything to do with it 😄.

Im finally getting into rimfire, and branching into my first ruger. Im picking up a SSH, and was planning on using an obsidian 9 suppressor (its already on my mp5). I have two questions

What ammo do you reccomend?

Has anybody messed with this configuration? If so, how does it sound?

I pick it up tomorrow, and couldnt be more excited for something new. I started to get shooting fatigue after decades of military contract guns, and really dont want the first trip out to suck

What does this go for? Also, the serial number is 35-00002. Would this make it worth any bit more money? I have the original box, manual, etc.

Relatively new RXM - maybe 500-600 rounds. Always cleaned , all stock, pmags, No optic.

It’s been about 2 weeks since I shot. Got to the range today and racked the first round. Jam. Nosedive/stuck on the feed ramp.

Cleared, removed and inspected barrel, switched mags, same.

Cleared again, switched mags, same result

I left it with the gunsmith at the range…glad I didn’t need to use it (this is my carry gun)

I’m sure the gunsmith will be cheap 🙄

Anyone else had this issue? Clearing, field stripping, and changing mags is about the extent of my troubleshooting.

TLDR: I purchased a new ruger that was missing parts and ruger is telling me 6 weeks to get me the latch, spring and walkthrough pin (all could be mailed in a standard envelope). Im pissed.

Purchased a new american pred gen 2 this week. My fault here but i put during inspection i put in the bolt, and made sure the trigger and bolt worked. Get home and try to put the magazine in and find out the magwell is missing all parts, latch, spring and walkthrough pin. You can tell they didnt fall out, but were never installed in the first place.

Well i know ruger is good for their products so i call customer service. 6 (SIX!) weeks estimate to get the parts. When i complained they offered for me to send in the gun and that would take 4-6 weeks turn around. I expected to be arguing overnight shipping vs priority, not a month and a half vs send in the gun for maybe one month.

Owner of now ten different Rugers and marlins (marlins purchased post Ruger acquisition. I am a big gun enthusiast and own more ruger than any other brand.

I chose this over a bergara b14. Figured ruger would get me close enough and save me money for better optics. I regret my decision. If this takes 6 weeks i will be anti ruger going forward. This shows a lack of quality control and ownership. I’ve advocated to so many people over the years about ruger and how their warranty is such a big deal. I feel betrayed and feel ive misled others.

From the research I have done it would seem that a finger extension is available for the 10+1 magazine sold with the 3519 model. I read a review that indicated that extension would not fit the 12+1 magazine. I really need the extension to help improve my control but also want the additional two rounds in my carry weapon. Has anyone had this same issue and found a solution?

Considering trading in my PC Carbine. It's a great gun, just didn't end up being what I needed.

Go to my local gun store and the guy there notifies me that they are being discontinued and now I'm having second thoughts.

How do you think this is going to effect the re sale value of PC Carbines down the road?

Bought his a week ago. Noticed when I got home that when I fully depress the ejector rod it sticks. Anyone else had this issue? I reached out to Ruger yesterday but haven’t heard back yet.

Next paycheck flat face trigger and rotary safety

My brother has had one of these since they came out and thought I’d pick one up the other day used. Shot several mags through it today and am wanting to suppress it. Apparently it’s not easy to find one of the threaded barrel kits for these. Should I wait and see if ruger does a drop or any other options? I like these better than a tx22 but If I can’t suppress it might just be easier to go that way.

So because of the panic buys, the GP was gone, so wasn’t the SP, but this little beauty was forgotten about, so I kinda had to take her home. (357) I’ll still keep my eyes open for the GP100

This is the Ruger American gen 2 prairie edition. .308 With a Sig Sauer whisky 3 scope in 3x9 power. After zeroing it in at 1/4inch low at 50 yards , I moved the target to 75 (farthest I could go at this range) and shot 3 more just for fun. The last picture shows my last 3 shots in the center. Could fit inside a dime! (The other bullet holes were from my 5.56 ar just messing around)
In conclusion this rifle was very consistent with grouping. I was using 165 grain bullets.

Could someone please take a pic and dimensions of the charger/pc carbine bolt lock spring. I lost mine and a pen spring doesn’t do the trick, there’s lots of amazon generic spring kits for 10 bucks and I’d rather order once thanks!
