20 Consecutive-Serial Detonics Pistols — 4 Calibers, 5 Models, Original Factory Display

Not something you see every day: a complete 20-pistol Detonics collection with consecutive serial numbers T40231–T40250, arranged in a remarkable 4-caliber × 5-model matrix.

The collection includes 9mm, .38 Super, .45 ACP, and .451 Detonics Magnum, with five configurations represented in each caliber: Mark I, II, V, VI, and VII.

Even more interesting, all 20 pistols retain their original serial-matching factory boxes, along with a tiered plexiglass presentation display.

Seeing this many variations together—especially with consecutive serial numbers—is extraordinary.

Gold cup trophy slide blue matched ?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Good morning gentlemen and scholars, im getting ready to buy my first gold cup trophy. I was on colts website and noticed they offer the gold cup .45 in two tone and the .38 with a blue slide so I called up colt and they told me to send it to their custom shop to have the work done. We'll I did some research and printed out the forms for colts custom shop and had some questions I was hoping someone here could answer. My end goal is a royal blue or national match blue frame and slide, now will they be able to blue the stainless frame and slide the gold cup is made of ? Also if i bought a two tone ( blue frame ) and had their custom shop blue the slide would that be a not identical match, would it be better to get the full stainless version so its all the same shade ? Thank you all for the input

Help Me Holster Recommendations

I'll be picking up a Colt MK4 soon and I want to get either a iwb or owb holster (leather or kydex work). This won't be the first 1911 I have owned or carried but I sold my last 1911 and gave the holster as a gift to my brother. Also the holster I had was a kydex iwb from Los concealment it worked well but I want something different then it.

General Discussion The One

So I recently posted about Cabot and got some very interesting responses - and learned some things. That said, it sparked another question. Who makes the ultimate 1911. I'm talking about a super premium firearm, that's truly beautiful, but you can't still shoot that absolute crap out of.

For instance, I know Dave Beck is an absolute great knife maker. His work is art. You have premium prices because of the time, quality, and service. But you can absolutely put those knives through hell and they still look amazing. Is there a 1911 that fits the build?

Colt has been constant choice for a duty gun but not a piece of art. Wilson and Nighthawk seem like logical choices as they his a little bit of both... but the answer seems to easy.

I was just introduced to Schauland Performance, they seem to fit the build, but those prices are as much as Cabot. I've never heard anyone really talk about them.

What's the answer?

Removing a Kimber firing pin block?

Post image

I'm thinking of cutting my Ultra CDP ii for an optic, but the process to do so eliminates the firing pin block (where that void exists in the photo) because the cut goes low enough to interfere with it. What are the risks to doing that in a carry gun?

Colt Colt 1911 Gold cup

I got this colt gold cup national match 1911 for my 21st birthday recently. It was found in a storage unit and was a seal of a pice. But somebody painted to hide the pitting. Should I leave the tan+black combo or restore it back to its original state?

Originally wanted a m45a1, but this will do.

Threw a x300 and was able to use my crucial concealment holster!
Will be buying the full black grips.

Looking for a 1911 Commander .45 and these are the two that currently have my interest. Anyone happen to have/had both that could help persuade me one way or the other?

I am looking for a holster for a Springfield Armory Operator with a Surefire X300U-A. I’m leaning toward Safariland but I’d rather find something that is a little more concealable.
