This is far and away my favorite shooter. It’s not my best rifle and certainly not the lightest, but it’s an absolute beast and the vibes are immaculate.

I’ve used this in a handful of 2-gun competitions with zero reliability issues even after it was submerged in mud and caked with dirt.

I used to run this with higher mounts (1.93in) to clear the rear sight post and because Korean SOF units love running them, but I found the height over bore atrocious.

For reference, the rail to center of bore height is approximately 1.62in, so a 1.53 LPVO mount is the equivalent of an AR (with a 1.215in rail to bore height) using a 1.93 mount. I found that going any higher significantly impacted my ability to rapidly hit targets at range due to the lack of cheek weld.

Back to back posts because I'm a special 꽃. My dr200 is looking alot better now without the thumbhole stock. To complete this rifle I will cut the barrel to 16 so that I can install a mount for my ocm6. I will get 🇺🇸 or 🇰🇷 made optic on top, then I believe I'll put a barrel mounted light at the 6 o'clock position. I messaged a mits Precision rep and they said that they will legally import some grunt rails into the States by the end of the year so that might be the final form for this gun.

Also does anybody else's gun not like polymer mags? My gun only likes usgi aluminum mags.

Good morning Daewoo enjoyers. I was trying to install the stormwerkz 90 degree safety selector and with my infinite gunsmiff knowledge, I installed the spring before the detent. Well obviously I had a hell of a time undoing my mistake and now I am in need of a replacement. Does anyone know which spring is the correct one to get? This is a post 89 dr200.

Apologies, a problem was brought to my attention by a few members, regarding this batch. When the stock is installed on the receiver and the bolt is fully tightened, two problems may appear.

1. First is a gap between the front piece and the receiver.
2. Second is the stock may be difficult to unlatch.

The hinge fits very snugly in the front piece, possibly causing it to flex and cause a gap at the receiver when installed.

I tested the stocks I have remaining; about 50% having one or both problems. I missed it because I only hand installed the stock to my receiver and didn't install or tighten the screw.

If the stock doesn't sit flush against the receiver, the hinge may be flexing the front piece.

1. Remove the hinge from the front piece.

2. Sand/File the front piece on the area shown in RED.

3. Reassemble hinge, it should go in with little or no force.

4. Repeat if necessary.

If the stock is difficult to lift to unlock, when installed; there may be an interference between the stock and the front piece and/or hinge.

1. Remove the hinge from the front piece.

2. Sand/File the front piece on the area shown in Blue

3. Reassemble hinge, it should be a slight gap (paper wide) between the Blue areas and the hinge.

4. Reinstall the stock to the receiver and test.

I apologize for this situation and hope you can work with me to resolve it. I'm going through the remaining stock and correcting them. I will test each one fully installed and tightened down.

I know it been a while since my last update. Finally had time to paint stocks this weekend. Rework was about 50%. It's allot like wood working; sand, fill, paint and see how it comes out. I like to give them a week to cure, actually takes several weeks to fully harden. Buttplates still need work and I need to epoxy in the QD sockets. Unfortunately, I have to attend the IMTS Show this week and won't be able to work on them till next weekend. Hoping to be ready to ship early October.

I've heard the normal ar 15 triggers can work in dr200 and ive heard others dont work at all. I was wondering if anyone has tried using a frt or super safety, if so how well did it work?

I recently acquired a Daewoo DR-200 and i'm trying to install a Pierce Precision pistol grip on it. I'm having some difficulties here, because the grip screw hole is just completed smooth, no threads. the screw used on the previous thumbhole stock was a self tapping plastic screw, inserted into the plastic of the stock with the head inside the lower receiver. Is this common, in the sense that there are no threads in the receiver grip screw location? Did I get a lemon? What have yall done in this situation?

Quick update:

Hinges arrived Friday and look great. The modifications didn't cause any issues and should be an improvement. The fit and finish is great. The hard coat anodize looks and feels excellent. I assembled (4) with remaining parts from the last batch. Expecting Pins and springs by the end of next week. Already started printing the front and rear portions including buttplates Also working on possibly molding the buttplates. A very kind person designed a 2-part mold and sent me the files. Already printed them and they look great. Need to gather supplies and test this new process, but that's some time off.

Hi! I'm a big fan of the daewoo pistols. I'm looking to track down some Regulus and Vulcans. I understand that this means gunbroker stalking. Anyone have experience taking these or upgraded DP-51s out to competition?

Final-ish forms of my Daewoos I had in my head for at least 14 years before I found my grails. Shot a match recently with the DR200 and it was a blast.

Need a better mounting solution for the red dot on the DP51. Unfortunately deformed the base of the K5 Trinity Wing dovetail mount on installation and this modified S&W 59 Optima 2000 mount doesn’t hold zero well (dot walked to the right after every 3-5 shots).

Either way, great weapons.
