Not saying it's bad or anything, and I get that it's a sign of high skill, but I much prefer the metallic sheen and was wondering if anyone else shared the sentiment

Here’s my finished entry for the Golden Demon. I hope you like it. I’m really proud of the ‘commended’ award, although I would have loved to have made it to the final.

You guys were all so nice about both of my entries when I showed them off at various points so I thought you'd like to know that they got some lovely shiny pins at golden demon 2026 :')
The competition was WILLLDDD this year so I'm absolutely stoked about how well I did, commended and a notable for my old thunder warrior too!!
Anyways thanks again to you guys for always being so supportive and nice about my painting it really means the world to me 🙏
Time to practice painting even tinier for next year!

I've started getting into the table top so am wanting to paint up some fun units to use. This has meant I want to start painting faster so I tried to be a bit less detail obsessed and use some faster techniques.
Pretty happy with the result - for my other inceptor I'm doing NMM so that will probably be a good 20 hour model lol.
Starting to play tabletop has made me appreciate spending less time per model, although maybe 5 hours per inceptor is a lot - who knows.
The next thing I want to try is doing an intercessor in 2 hours or so. Will see how that goes!

Don't worry, I won't be actually introducing our future son as "baby Ghazghull Thraka", it's just a bit of fun, to see what I can trick my wife into seriously considering.
[EDIT: of course this absolutely stupid post is the only post of mine in years that actually blew up. Congrats to anyone who said Magnus and Tycho, as they’ve successfully made it past the censor]

Wanted to show my two reposed dreads to show the variety that can be made with either no extra parts or if you have the time and money that adding parts from other dreads can make it more dynamic.
The first one almost only has parts from the contemptor and venerable dreadnought kits.
The second one is purely sourced from the venerable dreadnought kit in regards to the body, with joints shaved down to fit the open leaning back pose

Reserves for only the most apocalyptic of battles.
At the heart of many Necron tomb complexes, sleeping Seraptek Heavy Constructs await the footfall of intruders. These brutal war engines were designed by ancient Cryptek conclaves to protect each world’s master program, and this they do with merciless efficiency. Generators thrumming, the huge constructs advance with frightening speed, their optic lenses glowing as they pick out their targets. Massive cannons swivel in gimbal housings, crackling with destructive energies before unleashing pinpoint salvos to annihilate the interlopers. Should foes stray too close, the tomb guardians lash out with impaling forelimbs, their energy-sheathed tips rending metal, flesh and bone alike at a molecular level.
As the legions of the Necron dynasties march out into the stars in ever-greater numbers, many Necron Overlords have summoned their Seraptek constructs to join their ranks, replacing their timeless vigils with front-line battlefield duties. In this capacity, Seraptek Heavy Constructs have proven mighty engines of conquest, more than capable of meeting an Imperial Knight or Ork Stompa head-on and emerging victorious.Units of Serapteks are organised into cohorts.
In combat, the Seraptek is armed with either Synaptic Obliterators, Transdimensional Projectors, or a Singularity Generator.
This big guy was a real treat to paint and assemble. Watching all the pieces come together after painting him sectionally was beyond rewarding.
Im doing a Zultanekh kitbash utilizing Imotekh as a base next. Very open to suggestions of what bits from other kits I should add to make him cooler.

Let's say GW decided you could pick one army you could add to the game. Full support: models, codex, the lot. It all gets added to the game and works like you want it to. What would it be, and why?

I’ve always thought Terminators looked a little too stiff for such powerful warriors. So I decided to try reposing my Deathwing Knights!
Lots of cutting, repositioning, and filling gaps, but I’m pretty happy with how they’re turning out so far.

Had some extra time to paint aside from the commission I’ve been working on, slapped some layers on this DA Armageddon captain with head swap and weapon swap. Love this sculpt

Despite having been in the hobby for over 30 years, I still have yet to play a game of 40K. I hope to remedy this in the next year! 🙏
I have always dug the Japanese mindset of giving gifts to people, and so I was wondering; if I were to create a Codex booklet of my own lore, artwork, and datasheets for each unit in my custom Space Marine army (both to inform people about my army history, but also as a way for them to reference all the unit loadouts, applicable rules, etc for them in-game), is this allowed? 🤔
I would recreate the datasheets using a spreadsheet, there would be no like-for-like reproduction from the actual Codex Space Marines, and everything else would be my own creation 👍
I guess I'm just curious to know if this is frowned upon as I would be giving any opponents a full overview of my army before we've rolled a single dice 🥺
