Have wanted one for ages - primarily as an objective for games of Aeronautica actually 😝 Lovely kit to put together and nice to see the accommodations made for those who want to magnetise all the weapons!
Or, in other words, will a land based space marine force be good, or is the army designed to use drop pods/thunderhawks? All strategy tips i have read for space marines mention these to be able to do quick and concentrated assaults, but i was wondering if a more land based approach could work. Just infantry, tanks and characters. Allied titans too.
What’s everyone’s opinion on Magnus the Red actually being red? I have two of these figures so I will paint the other one blue and compare. I think I like it.
I'm going to be titling this one "At the beach". I finally constructed the last piece I envisioned for this when I started it. I'll post completed pictures here in a week, but I'm too proud of this final little touch I wanted to show it off before then :D
Yes, that's a hand carved little surfboard for an epic ork boy. the whole diorama though is about 12"x12"
Well. This group pushed me over the edge. And I've bitten the bullet. Bought these two, and persuaded my brother in law to part with his space marine box, and a load of spares. The next few evenings will have to be a big audit of all the units in the various boxes so I can start to paint and build in a sensible order towards a first game.
Any helpful starter posts of things to avoid, let me know. Excited.
I finally have all 5 Epic Chaos Space Marine Legions complete. That’s 375 x 6mm Space Marines painted, and another step closer to my army finally being complete. I still have the champions to do, and I’m considering banners, but I’m not sure about those yet.
I still need to get some more marines for the 5 base Space Marine units. Any ideas on what Chapters I should paint them up as? Preferably ones of different colours to those I already have.
I picked up a great gargant from ebay awhile ago. The bottom section had somehow been squashed, pretty impressive as its a hefty chunk of metal. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might reshape it or do i just embrace the Orky imperfection? (Pics show the squashed part along side an undamaged part for reference).
But I am missing some graphics, like all the squats, numerous super heavies, and my sound effects are awful. I am thinking of plugging in iso graphics but pretty sure I have even less graphics there :(
Is anybody a good pixel artist with some spare time?
Oh, sorry so wide, I have a 57" monitor at 7840 resolution, but it does work fine at 1200x800 or so, still tinkering with the interface and little bugs.
Oh, its 2E, 100%, just the 2E rules, 4 expansions, titan legions, CJ extras, and whatever was in the battles book.
I always wanted something like this. Had like $100K in epic miniatures for a while, and this was what I really wanted. Windows app right now has AI but not yet network support.
I'll have a demo pretty soon (like days to a few weeks if I can stay focused and bugs go away quickly).
If this is popular I'll upgrade it to netepic. If its really popular I'll wrap a planetary empires campaign around it.
The lack of proper graphics is REALLY hurting this project. My OCD is telling me to stop because so many are missing, I have no ability to make them, and I can't stand a game with placeholders :(
I just got these guys in today after a couple years of hunting, and upon inspection I realized that the dude on the right end has some kind of missile lance that I don't recognize. I thought it was just extra metal at first, until I saw the detail that looks like the head of a Dark Reaper launcher. Anyone know what he's got?
Sorry if the pics aren't great, bare metal's kind of hard to get a good shot of.
Curious how much the base shape matters for Epic Armageddon? Tempted to try it out as an alternative game for all my LI stuff, but I'd rather not rebase everything.
