After considering Seltos, Elevate we decided on GV.

The best driving experience was elevate

For looks and interior Seltos

We decided on GV due to the overall package like ease of service, reliability, features made sense to us, interior, (wife liked it, I wanted Elevate 😭).

We didn't want sunroof but there was a difference of 6k in zeta and zeta o, plus zeta o was available for delivery.

#Discussion 💬 Kia Seltos owner wins ₹5 Lakh over dashboard glare - Is this a common issue?

Post image
463 Upvotes

A pretty interesting case has come out of Delhi involving the Kia Seltos.

A Kia Seltos GTX+ owner complained that reflections from the dashboard were appearing on the windshield, affecting visibility while driving. After the issue allegedly remained unresolved, the owner approached the consumer commission.

The commission reportedly ordered Kia India and its authorised dealer to pay ₹5 lakh in compensation for unfair trade practices.

Interestingly, the commission did not conclusively establish that the car had a manufacturing or design defect, but still ruled against the company over how the complaint was handled.

A few questions for the community:

• Have any Kia Seltos owners here experienced dashboard reflections on the windshield, especially in bright sunlight?

• Is this a common issue with the Seltos, or does it depend on driving conditions and dashboard design?

• Should manufacturers be held accountable when a customer reports a potential visibility or safety issue, even if a technical defect isn't conclusively established?

• Would this case affect your decision to buy a Kia Seltos?

Personally, I think visibility-related complaints deserve to be taken seriously, regardless of the brand. A car can have great features and performance, but safety should always come first.

Seltos owners, please share your actual experiences. It would be interesting to know how widespread this issue really is.

#Discussion 💬 Should I buy my dream car at 23 or wait a few years?

Post image
228 Upvotes

being sorry beforehand if this post sounds childish!

I'm 23, working in Gurgaon, making around ₹2L a month in hand, and I'm really confused about whether I should buy my draem car which is Slavia, for ₹12.5L on-road.

A little background.
We bought an Alto in 2009 and kept it until the end of 2024. My parents have always provided me with everything, and I'm superr grateful for that.

But during my teenage years, there was a point when our Alto had become really bad. Even the AC didn't work, but we still kept using it for years. I asked my dad like 100 times to get a new car(I know it wasn’t the right thing to do, but I was a child, i’m just being honest, you guys can bash me for this)

Eventually, when my dad felt the need for a new car, he eventually bought a 12L car in late 2024.

I've always been a huge car enthusiast, and owning a sedan has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember.

Now, I live in Gurgaon and work here, while my parents live in our hometown. Financially, I'm doing pretty well for my age. I've saved around ₹10L since starting my job(jan 26), and around 6-7L of it is invested.
My family is financially very comfortable(both of my parents are working), and I don't depend on my parents for money.

The thing is, I haven't really spent anything on myself since I started working. I wanted a PS5, wanted to buy other things, but kept putting everything off. I've barely bought any clothes, shoes or anything. I save over 1.5L every month some way or the other

Now, I really want to buy a Slavia.

I also know my dad would probably agree if I pushed for it, but I don't want that to be the deciding factor.

My biggest confusion is whether buying a car that I don't actually need is a stupid financial decision, or whether I'm overthinking this and should finally spend some money on something I've wanted for years.

Should I just wait another five years until I actually need a car, or should I pull the trigger now?

Would genuinely appreciate some honest opinions.

specially if you’re someone in your late 20s who started making good money early, do you regret not buying a car early?

#Discussion 💬 Horse vs Cars. ICE Cars vs EVs. History Repeats Itself.

Post image

When introduced to cars back in the late 19th and early 20th century people never accepted them and there was all sorts of negativity and discouragement around it. Cars were the next step in Life but people Loved their Horses more.

Now with the internal combustion and ev dilemma. It’s not even a competition evs are superior and maybe hybrids will serve as a bridge to both until ICE are totally phased out.

What can I say I love my oil-leaking, vibrating, diesel-petrol-breathing Car more.

#Discussion 💬 Why don't we have an "LS swap" equivalent in India using Mahindra engines?

Post image
51 Upvotes

So I was randomly browsing online the other day and noticed how dirt cheap old BMWs are going for right now. Like 2009 or older E90 3 series going for under 2-3 lakhs. Obviously I know why they're that cheap.. NCR rules, reliability issues, and the fact that spare parts cost an arm and a leg. Plus almost all of them sold here are automatics anyway. I've been watching a lot of LS swap videos lately and kept wondering why nobody does that kind of stuff in India. Over in the US they just grab a cheap V8 and throw it into anything RWD. We don't have cheap V8s lying around, but what if someone took one of these cheap E90s, ripped out the problematic BMW engine and transmission, and swapped in the engine and manual gearbox from a Scorpio N or Thar? Think about it, the main reason nobody touches old German cars here is because the engine and gearbox parts cost an absolute fortune when they break. If you chuck the whole drivetrain out and put in a Mahindra setup, aren't you basically getting rid of like 60-70% of the reliability headaches and insane part costs of running an old BMW? Mahindra parts are dirt cheap, available everywhere, and reliable enough, while you still get to keep the E90's RWD chassis and handling. Wouldn't that be the cheapest RWD manual fun you could actually afford to maintain here? I know it's not plug and play at all and you'd still have to deal with mounts, wiring, suspension, labour etc. It's not gonna be easy, but it's not impossible either right? How much of the scary "BMW maintenance cost" would a swap like this actually save in the long run, or is there a big reason why nobody tries this here?

Currently using my Honda City and yes I am taking a sedan to the mines. It is such a pain to drive this beauty on these rough roads that I can't even explain.

Anyway I checked out the Thar Roxx but the dealer said the waiting period is around 52 weeks so I want to explore other options. What else should I look at instead of the Thar? The company uses the Innova Bolero and Scorpio Classic as official vehicles but I don't think those would be fun to drive.

Should I also consider compact SUVs like the Creta or Brezza? My budget is ₹16 lakh and I don't mind getting a base model.

Also looking to sell my city...

#Discussion 💬 SCAM ALERT: Cars24 Gurgaon delivered my Kia Seltos with fraudulent, hand-cut scrap tyres. Now they are ghosting my NCH grievance.

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, I need to share a massive safety hazard and vendor fraud I just experienced with Cars24 as a warning to anyone considering buying a used car from them.

I recently took delivery of a Kia Seltos Diesel (Booking ID: TXI04X). Despite their heavily marketed "140-Point Quality Inspection," they handed over a vehicle that was a literal death trap on the highway.

The Fraud:

To avoid the cost of replacing dead tyres, the local hub/vendor used a hot blade to manually carve fake tread grooves into completely bald, dry-rotted Bridgestone scrap tyres. They then drenched the wheels in heavy wet silicone polish to mask the severe cracks under the showroom delivery lights.

The Danger:

When driving it back to home on expressway, the tyres began structurally bubbling above 80 km/h. Upon closer inspection in the daylight, there is a massive, deep vertical split cutting straight through the shoulder of the tyre (see attached photos), missing chunks of rubber, and severe crazing/dry rot. If I had hit a pothole at highway speeds, it would have been a catastrophic blowout.

The Undeniable Proof:

I have Cars24 hub staff’s OWN pre-delivery yard walkaround video, plus my own in-showroom delivery-bay footage, proving beyond any doubt that these exact knife-cut death traps were fitted to the car inside their yard prior to handover.

Corporate Stonewalling & Ghosting:

I refuse to drive this unsafe vehicle 150 km back to Gurgaon on the expressway. I immediately emailed their leadership desk with the video evidence and a local quotation of ₹31,600 for 4 safe Yokohama replacement tyres.

I have filed an official government grievance via the National Consumer Helpline (NCH Docket #10501136).

Their corporate team has completely ignored the emails.

Their Social Media team is actively replying to routine RC transfer tweets on X (Twitter) today but completely ignoring my thread with the visual proof.

What I need from the community:

Please upvote for visibility so their PR team realizes they cannot sweep life-endangering fraud under the rug. If any lawyers or veterans here have successfully forced Cars24 to pay up for a vendor fraud reimbursement, please let me know your strategies. I am holding my ground until they email a written approval for the ₹31,600 tyre replacement.

Update On 28 October 2026

After crossing 26,000+ views with a 100% upvote ratio and remaining dead silent for over 24 hours, Cars24’s social media desk finally surfaced on X at 10:10 AM.

Instead of an executive callback or written accountability, they deployed standard corporate damage control: replying publicly with an external third-party CRM form link (i.ki.show) to manufacture the illusion of "active customer support" while attempting to sweep this scandal out of the public domain.

The Reality Check:

They already have all data: They hold Booking ID TXI04X, , five detailed escalation emails, and active National Consumer Helpline (NCH) Docket #10501136. Pretending they need a webform to "find my details" is a blatant stall tactic.

The Form Has Been Submitted: I filled their form within minutes and publicly called out their deflection on X.

The Stance Remains Absolute: I will not drive a death trap on bald, hand-cut regrooved tyres 150 km back to their Gurgaon hub. I will not hand the vehicle over to their internal partner garages after the Sector 18 hub knowingly fitted condemned scrap tyres covered in silicone polish.

Unless formal written email authorization for the ₹31,600 quotation (four safe Yokohama tyres from an authorized dealer) is issued today, the raw yard footage, macro photos, and delivery-bay logs are moving directly to automotive safety creator Prateek Singh and formal Consumer Forum proceedings.

Thank you to everyone in this community for holding corporate negligence accountable. Will keep this thread updated the second their escalation management calls.

#News 📰 Land Rover Defender gets a price cut of up to ₹34 lakh after local assembly begins in India. Starting price is now ₹99 lakh

JLR India has started local assembly of the Defender at its Pune plant, bringing the starting price down to ₹99 lakh (ex-showroom).

A few key details:

  • The entry-level variant is now ₹99 lakh, down by ₹14.5 lakh.
  • The 3.0-litre petrol and diesel variants now start at ₹1.18 crore, down by ₹34 lakh.
  • Deliveries of locally assembled models are scheduled to begin on November 15.
  • JLR expects the price cuts to lift Defender sales by around 20%.

The Defender was previously imported as a fully built unit from Slovakia. India is now the only market outside its existing production set-up to assemble the model locally.

Does a starting price of ₹99 lakh make the Defender a more compelling buy, or is it still too expensive for what it offers?
