#Opinion 💭 Drove the Duster Hybrid through bumper-to-bumper traffic and got 20 kmpl. The Elevate CVT gets about 7 in the same conditions

I didn't expect the gap to be this big. I drove the Duster Hybrid through proper bumper-to-bumper traffic, the kind where you're creeping along and braking every few seconds, and it was still returning around 20 kmpl.

For comparison, the Elevate CVT gets around 7 kmpl in that same kind of stop-and-go. That's almost three times the mileage on the same roads.

It's one drive, and mileage always depends on driving style, AC use, and how bad the traffic is, so take it with a grain of salt. But city crawling is where a hybrid should shine, and it clearly did.

Curious whether other hybrid owners see similar numbers in heavy traffic, or whether I just got a lucky drive

I have tried every permutation and combination of parking so that they cannot climb but these mofos.
Alot of scratches on my roof, bonnet and windshield.
I bought a nail cover, ripped it off within 3 hours, normal cover ripped off overnight. I am so frustrated. WHAT DO I DO.

After considering Seltos, Elevate we decided on GV.

The best driving experience was elevate

For looks and interior Seltos

We decided on GV due to the overall package like ease of service, reliability, features made sense to us, interior, (wife liked it, I wanted Elevate 😭).

We didn't want sunroof but there was a difference of 6k in zeta and zeta o, plus zeta o was available for delivery.

So my family is planning to buy a car which is big and bold as our current car is a hatchback. We loved xuv 7xo as it’s a nice car but the fuel efficiency is what concerns the most.We heard about bigster coming our next year(7seater of duster) which comes In a strong hybrid 1.8 our planning is to buy a car at march-April time and the dealership has no specific idea about the launch in india.7XO is great but paying 30lakhs for a car with 10-12milage feels so bad.Is waiting for the bigster a good idea? Or moving forward with 7xo a better idea.?

#Miscellaneous 📃 Jaywalker Punched my car after i was not able to stop on Highway

This funny incident happened 2-3 days ago with me on NH9 near Lal Kuan

basically a lady jaywalker suddenly jumped out of crowd as i was doing 50-60 kmph on my way to work, she was crossing from extreme left to extreme right to get on Delhi-Meerut expressway on which state transport busses illegally stop to board and deboard passengers

she showed me hand as i was on 2nd right lane , there were several bikers tailgating me in house-fly flight pattern , still i slowed down very slowly as lady was also overweight and very slow , i slowed down to around 20-30 kmph, risked my car being rearended and this lady just makes face like an angry buffalo and punches my left side front cladding of jimny and immediately says Owww while holding the hand she used to punch with her other hand

i turned up the music and continued my journey

ISTG Jimny has made me a very chill driver, looks like the car you drive really affects your personality, earlier in my i20 i used to get easily frustrated and number of bad people (ie wrong side drivers, jaywalkers) showing aggression towards me was higher

I really don’t understand what is so cool with all this. You can get into an accident yourself where you can be injured or even worse just to get out of a traffic challan. Also, putting it on instagram? Why would you?

#Query ❓ Is Kylaq the best sub 4M SUV to buy under 13 lakhs right now?

Title: Is the Skoda Kylaq actually the best sub-4m SUV under ₹13L right now, or is it just the hype?

Looking closely at the sub-4m compact SUV segment with a hard ceiling around ₹12–13 Lakh on-road, and on paper, the Skoda Kylaq seems to make a seriously compelling case. But before pulling the trigger, I wanted to get real-world opinions from folks who’ve either driven it or cross-shopped in this bracket.

Here’s why it’s tempting

  • Driving dynamics & punch: That 1.0L TSI (115 PS / 178 Nm) paired with either the slick 6-speed MT or the reliable 6-speed torque converter (AQ250) is arguably the most sorted powertrain for pure drivability in this segment. No jerky AMTs or laggy CVTs.
  • Solid MQB-A0-IN platform: German high-speed composure, confidence-inspiring handling, and standard safety kit across trims that beats out a lot of the tinny alternatives.
  • Pricing sweet spot: Skoda actually priced the mid-to-upper trims competitively enough to undercut the top-spec Brezza and Sonet while giving you better road manners.

Where the doubts creep in:

  • Cabin space: Rear legroom and overall shoulder room feel closer to a raised hatchback than a boxy SUV. If you regularly carry 3 adults in the back, the 3X0 or Brezza easily take the lead.
  • Fuel efficiency: Turbo-petrols are notoriously sensitive to Bangalore/Mumbai/Kolkata bumper-to-bumper traffic. If you have a heavy right foot, single-digit FE is real.
  • After-sales: Skoda’s network and service reputation have gotten better with the India 2.0 push, but it’s still no Maruti or Hyundai for sheer peace of mind.

The alternatives under ₹13L

  • Brezza: Bulletproof reliability, chill 1.5L NA engine, cheaper maintenance, but feels dated inside and lacks any driving excitement.
  • Mahindra 3X0: Class-leading torque and rear bench space, but polarizing styling and the lower-spec automatics stretch the budget.
  • Sonet / Venue: Tech-loaded and refined, but suspension is stiff and rear legroom is tight.

For those who’ve test driven or bought one recently—would you pick the Kylaq over a Brezza or 3X0 at this price? Any dealbreakers you noticed?

Currently using my Honda City and yes I am taking a sedan to the mines. It is such a pain to drive this beauty on these rough roads that I can't even explain.

Anyway I checked out the Thar Roxx but the dealer said the waiting period is around 52 weeks so I want to explore other options. What else should I look at instead of the Thar? The company uses the Innova Bolero and Scorpio Classic as official vehicles but I don't think those would be fun to drive.

Should I also consider compact SUVs like the Creta or Brezza? My budget is ₹16 lakh and I don't mind getting a base model.

Also looking to sell my city...
