Please don’t say house centipede I’m not an idiot. This doesn’t look like the Japanese species which is supposedly the largest and information on house centipedes is painfully limited

Their body shape is interesting, the pincers are cool and the colouration is neat. Had to 10x zoom to get the little details. Found in the desert

Smallest moths I’ve ever seen but super cute. Caught them in a hospital bathroom. If they are drain flies they are 5x the size I’m used to.

ID Request Is it possible to identify what this poor guy was based on these pictures?

Hello everyone!

I am not sure if its the right place but i dont know where to ask and I am very curious, google search didnt help much.

An hour or so ago, I felt a buzz by my hair, reflexively I brushed with my hand only to have something to buzz and I panicked a lot and slapped whatever it was away. I am new to getting used to insects and I got caught by surprise. I feel really bad, whether it was a bee or wasp, I am not a “smash it” type of person, I usually “remove” myself off their way when I am afraid of bugs…

Only a little after i felt a burning feeling in my ear, then i found a this on my sleeve. When I slapped it away something yellow flew away so I assume it was a bee or wasp. I was wondering if it is possible to identify it from the pictures.

It is not for treatment purposes of course. Just curiosity. I am also not asking if it is a bite or anything. I got a few pictures. I live in Germany/Bavaria, if it helps.

Thank you in advance 🫶🏻

This happened in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. I have not given my dog one of these treats in a couple weeks. I'm hoping I would have noticed the webs or larvae before reaching in and feeding him one.

ID Request Tiny female wasp

Sorry for the terrible photos. Tiny (3-4mm) wasp showed up on my bathroom mirror this morning in Tucson, AZ, USA. I think it's the reflection that's more in focus in both images. Yellowish brown legs, dark body and ovipositor, couldn't see what color antennae were. Ovipositor makes up about 25% of body length. She seemed to be engaged in searching behavior, with flight that moved forward slowly but zig-zagged rapidly side to side. Am I correct in thinking this is probably a parasitoid species with such a proportionally long ovipositor? If so, is her host species likely to be a household pest?

I'm located in NW Oregon state. I think these are coming out of our compost spinner thing after a good rain. About an inch long.

During the summer I also kept seeing large (also about an inch long), black flying insects, perhaps flying ants, or type of wasp..? I don't have a photo unfortunately, but maybe that's helpful for ID if they are different stages of the same bug?

Thanks in advance! :)
