ID Request What is this bug lol

Post image

We have red ants and stuff but I just saw this on my wall and it looks like it has a stinger or something. The two things at the bottom were further apart before I… protected myself. Mainly worried cause I have 3 cats so lmk if I should be worried or not, thanks guys!!

I live in north Florida area. About the size of a finger nail. Thanks for not deleting it.

Bzzzzz! Hi, u/helloiambrantley! Looks like you forgot to say where you found your bug!
There's no need to make a new post - just comment adding the geographic location and any other info (size, what it was doing etc.) you feel could help! We don't want to know your address - state or country is enough; try to avoid abbreviations and local nicknames ("PNW", "Big Apple").

BTW, did you take a look at our Frequently Asked Bugs?

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Female earwig. Their ass prongs are straight instead of curvy like the grippers on male earwigs. Not harmful at all and they don't like to be inside.

Yeah, they don't. They're very uncharismatic ( not their fault in any way) but they're often commensal in in high humidity environments. Take it outside and just pitch it, or destroy if you're okay with it. They're just little beasties trying to get along right nextdoor to us.

Earwig, possibly a nymph or possibly a female (males have more robust ‘pincers’)
