Please set a user flair with your pronouns

After some helpful suggestions from our members we have made some changes to our flair system.

  • You are invited to display your preferred pronouns in your flair. We hope this will help avoid misunderstandings.
  • All user flairs can be edited when you select them
  • From today you will receive guidance when posting or commenting to choose a flair.
  • In the coming weeks, users who don't have text in their flair indicating preferred pronouns will receive an automated chat message suggesting they update their flair.
  • When we have sufficient feedback on the system and the availability of default flairs, we intend to require anyone posting or commenting to have set a user flair and this will be enforced at the point of posting where you currently receive a guidance message.

Let us know how well this works for you.

Trans Masculine I guess I’m a de-detransitioner

So in middle and high school I used to have this “trans phase” I guess, but I decided I didn’t care enough and tried harder to be womanly? idk it hasn’t really bothered me until I went to visit my parents, my mom decorated the basement like my childhood bedroom and set out a bunch of clothes I might want and one of those things was my chest binder. I put it on just for shits and giggles, but I really really liked how I looked with a flat chest. But then I was kinda upset when I took it off. Now when I look in the mirror I just wanna cry.

I’m 23 now and it’s been 8 years since I detransitioned. I’ve tried so hard to forget those feelings, but I’m not even sure why. I was my happiest despite not even being fully out. I’m feeling 8 years of dysphoria all at once. It feels so completely awful but freeing? At least I have adult money and don’t have to hide from my family anymore.

I’ve been living a 3sizes too small binder for almost a week. I’ve also bought some masculine clothes at goodwill yesterday and haven’t taken off one of the sweaters since I washed it. I just got my haircut three weeks ago and now I want it even shorter.

I feel so stupid for delaying something that could’ve been great.

Vent About Reddit Pushing Detrans Propaganda

I can't say it here even though i'm not the one with blood on my hands, but comedian Bill Hicks already said what needed to be said about people who work in marketing and advertising. Yes marketing and advertising people at Reddit that is for you for being complicit in genocide. Reddit has blood on their hands.

Trans Feminine Question about peeing post op

So I’m working on the steps to get my vagina, but I keep thinking about what is it like to pee with a vagina? I mean I know conceptually but I just want to hear other girls opinions on this because embarrassingly I’m kind of excited to pee with a vagina.

Discussion Cyberpunkgame trans discourse situation:

For context: cyberpunk 2077 has a trans character in it. And the moderators of r/cyberpunkgame decided to ban posts about said trans character and trans folk in general so they wouldn’t have to filter out hate speech. Aka: so they wouldn’t have to do the job they volunteered to do. They then walked back the rule after huge backlash from the subreddit… and then removed and banned the one mod that spoke out against the rule for “going against them” and they’re still removing trans-related posts and posts talking about the incident. And they changed the banner and sub icon to pander to LGBTQ+ folk and pretend that nothing happened. Like absolute cowards.

In an age where media about trans folk and trans people in general are censored. I think it’s understandable why people like myself were so pissed… well… some gonks flooded the comment sections and told us to “shut up” “ugh this so annoying!” “It’s not that deep bro” “they’re mods they should be allowed to regulate the subreddit how ever they want!” “Go touch some grass!” “Both sides are cringe lol” “you’re making this about yourselves” “such virtue signaling”!

Those gonks, the ones who are telling us to shut up… are the reason we should be loud.

Trans Feminine How true is it that there are certain corporate jobs that will be more challenging or may not even want Trans women in it?

• Upvotes

I was talking to a friend who said that her company moved her from sales to a pre sales support role after her transition. She suspects it's because of her transition and that many of the company's clients are based in the Middle East or conservative Asian countries.

Her role was client facing, meeting face to face, going on teams calls with the camera on. The reduced role is an indication that they want her to leave. So she's been searching for a way to get out but without much luck.

I'm just thinking back like we see trans girls in internal/support/non delivery roles like HR, Payroll, Compliance, Project support, IT but it's rare to hear about them being the ones travelling in business class to drive client engagement or securing deals.

Vent "I'm sorry, we can't change the name on your account"

Really? Really? in 2026, your system has no mechanism to change my name from Estelle to James? It's been shocking how many companies - big ones! - either don't have a simple process for it or can't make the change at all.

I don't want to casually out myself at the gym - is that too much to ask for? apparently.

eta 1: before this post, I replied to the LA Fitness agent and told them "that will be an issue" and offered a copy of the court order. Idk what Washington state law is about this but I'll be looking that up. I'll edit again when I have an update.

Their system (at the level of basic support) will only allow them to change the last name.

I can't create a new account for myself. When my local gym closed, they sold all our accounts to LA Fitness with the stipulation that our membership fee doesn't change and we get no annual fee. $20/mo in Seattle, y'all, at a gym I can easily reach by bus/walk to because I don't have a car.

This name change is 2 years old, and it's not my first or even second legal name change. I am familiar with the process and the headache of updating it everywhere.

This was a vent, not a request for help. See the flair.

Advice How do you live as trans?

I mean really, is it even possible to get a job, as trans? I recently discovered that I am a trans woman, and I am afraid that I will end up on the street. I have always had big plans in my life, and I was making a great effort to achieve them, but now I wonder if it is even possible, especially in this transphobic world. So is it possible to get a job as a trans woman? I am scared. I would love to hear some stories from more experienced trans people.

Advice How do I ask my sister to maybe help me get some women's clothes and or how to wear makeup and whatnot.

• Upvotes

I 18m. Am planning on expirementing with my gender and whatnot and I'm probably some variation of trans fem or nonbinary or gender fluid or something. I just told my sister and as she's like the one person I could go to to help with this sort of thing (my mom is conservative Christian) and I'm not sure how to ask. I just got off the phone with my sister and I wanted to ask but also was worried? She accepted me of course but also I just don't know how to ask her for help.

Am I trans? I suck at being Trans…

(M?23)

Sometimes I wonder if I'm pretending to be Trans just so I can feel special or maybe I'm just a perv because I wish I could fit into certain clothes. I can't confidently say I'm trans to others because I don't look nor have I voiced frustration and discomfort about it. I'm technically a male since that's what my family got and wanted me to be a best example of a man ever, but I'm changing. I feel like I always had a niche for wanting to be another person, someone beautiful and cute, but I don't pass as such.

I don't know enough people who are trans to help me, and I rather not mention this phase with my friends and family who might mistake me for delusional.

I could be crazy, maybe stupid for trying. I have weight I need to drop; I’m not incredibly fat but still chubby I can't fit into anything feminine. I don't put enough effort to shave and even managing my body, besides the gym. I can't consider HRT out of fear and non-negotiable circumstances. I do wanna come off as spelling disaster, just I'm confused with myself and my feelings.

Discussion claiming pip (uk)

Ive been sat here thinking of all the things i have/want to pay for simply for being transgender.
Needs such as; £30 a month on trans tape, £50 every 5-6 months on hrt, £50 for new binders etc. and wants such as; £102 for a name change to passport, £80 on packers and harnesses, etc. Its so draining having to pay for these when cis people dont, especially when sometimes i cant afford tape which means i avoid going out or ill get told off for wearing jumpers in lessons at college. Im paying for these things to make my life easier because i have a medical condition. isnt that what pip is for? having autism i used to get dla and that’s exactly what it was for, for my mum to use for things i needed to make our lives easier because i was born with a mental disability. im wondering why trans people aren’t allowed to claim such things ? obviously i know why with how trans people are treated by government and society but ive just thought it seems like something that should be allowed. And i know ill have people reply saying but being trans isnt a disability, its not, however it is a medical condition and that is what pip is for according to the gov.uk website.

just a thought but was also wondering has anyone heard of anyone who tried to claim for this?

Trans Feminine Weight loss and hrt

So im not at a weight that I want to be at and iv been losing weight almost 30lbs now. But Im realizing that this probably going against some of the hrt stuff I want like breast growth? I keep seeing general advice for boob growth to be eat protein rich and fatty foods while on prog. And like makes sense but like I cant do that often when being in a cal deficit. So like would my best course of action to be getting down to what first then doing that kind of advice??

Vent Everything sucks

My biggest problem is everything doesnt suck i have good grades, friends, family but i still feel so empty every night. I know if i come out theyll still love me but i can never bring myself to say it. Ive made plans around coming out ive tried talking to people, texting them, writing a letter but i can never bring myself to actually do it and i dont know why. The worst part is ive known i was trans for years but never really had dysphoria until recently and its constant and in my dreams im a girl when i imagine my future im a girl i cant see myself ever being someones husband but its like theres a wall i just cant get through. I know my parents would support me and i know our insurance would cover hrt, i know my friends would still be my friends but its like theres this wall and i cant get through it and i dont know why.

Advice I don't want to be trans

I've kinda been spiraling for the past few months, I guess I need some advice on, y'know what it's like out there as a trans masc. I know I grew up with a lot of the signs, like wanting short hair, and not wearing dresses (and not giving a shit about my appearance or clothing for a very long time) and hating the idea of makeup. But at the same time I don't actually have a problem with being female, or perceived as such? I actually really like it, and I'm terrified a physical transition would change so much about how I'm perceived, and social interaction.

Still I hate having a chest, my stupid high pitched voice, having wide hips, (I stg if this doesn't change) periods!!! I think I'd be way less miserable if I were in a man's body. I mean I'd guess most people who feel like this probably consider themselves non-binary but I really just dont want to exist like that...y'know with the whole obvious pronoun thing that doesn't even validate something I care about.

I don't really want to be a guy, but I don't want to be the something in-between that has to explain herself all the time. I'm tired of wearing boring clothing and having a short haircut just to perform masculinity so I can feel more androgynous, when being a guy with long hair and fun clothes sounds so much better. Is it crazy to start hormones and everything and completely transition for that? I know no matter what ends up happening I'm getting top surgery, but does the rest of it sound like something I would find worth it?

I know it's said all the time you don't have to have physical dysphoria to be trans, but can you be trans and not have social dysphoria? I know it's a big no-no, but if anyone has felt similar, can you tell me what the heck I am?

I've always been around and very close to the queer community, but I don't know if I've ever fully identified with it, and I think I might be scared to? I don't know. I guess I've thought I'm probably aroace as well and that never actually felt like being queer, just...lacking something. This is kinda similar. I don't feel resonant with the transmasc experience, but I think I want something to change?

Anyway, this was really long, so sorry. Thank you for getting this far, I hope you have a really lovely day <3

Advice Need help coming up with a name

Hey y'all, I'm 18 years old (MtF) and I'm struggling to come up with a proper name. I hate my brith name, Elijah, and don't want a name starting with E. I've been trying the name 'Nova' for a while, and while I like it, I don't think it really fits. Any suggestions, stories or kind words would be very appreciated.

Advice How to support queer kids?

I read the rules and idk if this post is against them or not so hopefully it is but im a bus monitor for elementary age children in a very conservative area, today, a student about 9 years old came to me and told me that hes gay and thinks that he might want to be a girl but isn't sure. (using he/him for the child because he isnt sure) I told him that its okay that he feels that way and that jesus loves him no matter what (he asked, i am not christian but he is) and that'd hes one of my bus kiddos and I love all of them not matter what. What do I do to help support this child?
