Owned a Pentax K-x for years and enjoyed photography, but never really got into it.
Recently picked up a K-5IIs and wanted to try out some old lenses. Did some research and scoured the auction site for a couple weeks and landed these 2 for what I believe was a great deal.
K-Series 100mm F4 macro for $50. Seller said it has possible balsam separation, but doesn’t affect pictures. After receiving it, I can barely notice any balsam separation signs, and it takes stunning photos. Very impressed.
Pentax-M 50mm 1.7. Seller said that there was balsam separation (impossible), haze inside the glass, and the focus ring was stuck. Made an offer of $8 and they accepted. Upon receiving, the focus ring wasn’t stuck, but there was haze and a very slight amount of fungus. Opened it up, cleaned it, and it takes stunning photos.
I’ve also got a K-Series 28mm 3.5, and K-Series 135mm 2.5 coming from overseas.
This has truly ignited a passion and I find myself constantly heading outdoors and capturing as many moments as I can.
