Could not be happier with the first two rolls from this new-to-me Leica M6 Reissue.
My all-time favorite lens on the left, a 1964 50mm Summilux v2 that I've used for decades, compared with the rerelease from Leica, and the recreation from Mandler.
Spoiler: can't go wrong here.

I just got back from a two week vacation to France and Malta. I was going to carry a 6-8lb camera bag with a camera and a few lenses but I didn’t feel that my hip replacement could stand up to that.
I walked 11,000 to 17,000 steps a day, and certainly had pain but it could have been worse.
So, I decided that I would go with an extremely minimal setup, just an iPhone 18 Pro and the Leica Lux grip. Oh, I invested in the Apple wrist strap.
Yes, I used the Lux app and feel that it is well worth the yearly subscription price.
The Lux grip worked well during the trip. I got to where I could grab shots quickly. I only missed a few shots with it.
The battery life on the Lux grip is impressive. Now, walking around with an iPhone with the screen on all the time burns a lot of battery but I could shoot hundreds of shots throughout the day. I carried a small extra battery to recharge my phone but rarely needed it.
The Lux grip never became detached from the iPhone with case after carrying for many hours every day. The wrist strap would save my phone if it did become detached.
I got good at quickly switching between focal lengths in the Lux app by using the two top buttons that are to the left and right of the shutter button.
I am much faster shooting with the grip than with the phone itself. Only one person, a photographer shooting a small Olympus camera, noticed the grip. So, I chatted with him about it.
All in all, a good experience. If I can’t see to focus an optical viewfinder, I want as big an electronic viewfinder as possible, lol.
I miss my film Leicas and darkroom setup but those days are behind me now.
I put a picture in a comment.
No lens hood… 🤷🏻♂️. A couple of marks here and there. Lens and sensor are clean as a whistle. Dials and controls feel like my Q3 which I bought new… $6200 after taxes and shipping.

I am very impressed with how this lens handles CA at 1.4. On top of that, this lens gives a dreamy feeling to its rendering at 0.5m with really nice bokeh.

Just got this 50mm Elmar and noticed these spots after I paid for it. Should I return the lens and get a refund?

I’m looking at picking up a Leica Q3 and I’m wondering if it’s worth the hassle buying used or just going with a flag ship store and buying it new?
My M4 vulcanite is peeling (images attached). I have a half case for it, but it can get bulky sometimes. Eventually I'll get the vulcanite re-done, but until then, is there any risk for me using it naked, without the case? Such as the metal underneath being exposed? I understand that it'll continue to peel, which I've accepted.

I’ve been wondering why Leica chose the letter “Q.” After the launch of the iPhone Duo, it makes sense now.
The “Duo” name not only represents the dual screen of the phone, but it also shows that it can be used as a phone or a tablet in different situations. More importantly, the shape of the phone matches the letter “D” when it is folded, which you can tell at a glance.
Following this philosophy, I think the Leica Q series camera, especially with the 28mm f1.7 lens, matches the letter “Q” as well. As you set the hour hand at 17, and the minute hand at 28 on the clock. You’ll find the signal of the letter “Q” in front of your eyes. Just a coincidence or maybe it can totally explain why Leica chose the 28mm focal length for the Q series when it first came out?
That’s why I chose the 28mm over 43mm lol. It’s beyond thinking and more original to me.

Hi all, I’m planning to get my first Leica film camera.
Considering between Leica M6 Reissued or Leica MP black pain.
Which’s one should i go with?
Thank you all for your suggestions!

Leica Q3 in like-new condition, with no scratches or issues. Everything works perfectly, and it is still under warranty.
DM me if you’re interested!

Hey all, I tried my hand at adjusting my M3’s vertical adjustment screw as it’s out of line. It’s only a hairrrr off but it bothered me enough to try to adjust it. Well, the screw absolutely will not budge, I put two drops of zippo lighter fluid on the screw but, no luck. I have some concerns now.
1. The screw feels springy, like when it’s pushed into the camera it has some give.
Are these valid concerns? I hope I didn’t ruin anything.

I want to know if I should keep this vintage Leica lens I bought in a lot, or if I should sell it? The body is in great condition, but the glass is very hazy, and possibly full of fungus. Any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry about the bad photos.
Needed an every day walk about camera that’s more manageable than my Sony a7riii and was considering the fujifilm x100vi. Have always wanted to own a Leica though so spontaneously pulled the trigger today. Hopefully one day will move from Sony to Leica overall.

I recently got an MP. The borders near the corners of pictures taken on the MP seem to not be straight compared to pictures taken on my M2.
Attached are two negatives, the Gold 200 is the MP exhibited uneven edges and the Portra 400 is the M2 with straight edges.
Is this user film loading error (film not sitting flat against the pressure plate when loading)? I can rule out it being a lens / film type issue since I used different lenses and different film but it still happens.
Would appreciate all your help!

I did it! I got my first Leica (analog) M: Leica M6 TTL - I bought it used and I am so happy about the condition.
Can't wait for the first roll

Hi, I’ve been shooting with a Leica M4-2 for the past 10 years, bought it second hand in good condition as my first film camera.
Been using it low to medium intensity (~10-15 rolls a year on average), just as a hobby and for travel.
I would say I do take good care of it. But recently the shutter had been experiencing jams. My local repair guy mentioned that due to its old age and cost of repairs it might not be viable to maintain it further (aging shutter/ mechanism). Also possibly because the M4-2 is mechanical inferior compared to its counterparts, it has trouble holding up in old age.
Hence, I’m looking for a new camera, something more modern (MA, MP, M6 reissue) as I plan to use it for as long as possible.
For those that have been shooting with more recent film M versions, how has the durability/ reliability of the camera been for you?
Eg. Frequency of repairs, mechanical issues faced, shutter timing issue etc.
TLDR: Old camera is dying, considering getting a more ‘modern’ M film camera, concern with mechanical reliability.
