Best of the Week - Week 43
Post your best image of the Week and as much as you care to share about it
DA70 | KF | Toronto's downtown
Took with me this combo to Union station. Got off, walked west on Front, then north on Spadina towards Kensington area. Then east on Dundas towards University, south back to Union. This combo is great for showing details and such around a city. 105mm FF equivalent in super compact, light package.

New to me Lenses
Owned a Pentax K-x for years and enjoyed photography, but never really got into it.
Recently picked up a K-5IIs and wanted to try out some old lenses. Did some research and scoured the auction site for a couple weeks and landed these 2 for what I believe was a great deal.
K-Series 100mm F4 macro for $50. Seller said it has possible balsam separation, but doesn’t affect pictures. After receiving it, I can barely notice any balsam separation signs, and it takes stunning photos. Very impressed.
Pentax-M 50mm 1.7. Seller said that there was balsam separation (impossible), haze inside the glass, and the focus ring was stuck. Made an offer of $8 and they accepted. Upon receiving, the focus ring wasn’t stuck, but there was haze and a very slight amount of fungus. Opened it up, cleaned it, and it takes stunning photos.
I’ve also got a K-Series 28mm 3.5, and K-Series 135mm 2.5 coming from overseas.
This has truly ignited a passion and I find myself constantly heading outdoors and capturing as many moments as I can.

50mm lens advice for K1000: f/1.4, f/1.7, f/2?
I have an old Pentax K1000 body from the 80s, which originally shipped with a 50mm lens, I think the SMC f/2, but the lens is long gone and I'd like to replace it. I'm wondering what people think about the differences between the f/1.4, f/1.7, and f/2 varieties which are out there (used, refurbished). Which would be most versatile? The f/1.4 is quite a bit more expensive, and I wonder whether it is heavier and maybe better suited for low-light specialty photography. I would like a good-quality "all purpose" prime lens.

Pentax Lens Stuck, any ideas?
I dropped my partners camera a while back and the lens is stuck in and this odd angle, like its slipped off its internal rails?
Tore down as much as I could to access the inside, anyone got any ideas on how to fix?

I want a Pentax K3 III. Talk me out of it.
I love strong hardware.
My current camera is the EM5 III.
Part of me wants the EM1 III or the Pentax K3 III for longer lenses. I know the Pentax is worse than my current camera for video. Yet for some reason I find it attractive.
I take more stills than video anyway.
I think I should just stick with Olympus/OM System.
Why do I have GAS for the K3 III?
Any thoughts are appreciated

I think the 77mm is a slightly more fun lens than the 120mm. I'll put it on for the next roll.
It was a lot more expensive though....

Pentax KF avis
Bonjour, que pensez vous du Pentax KF et notamment de cet objectif 55mm ?
À quel public s’adresse-t-il ?
Avez vous de jolis photos (portraits, paysage, etc) faites avec cet appareil ?
Merci :)

Looking for another camera
I’m looking to get another camera, not sure what I should get. I’m looking at newer SLR like an MZ-50/60, or a Z-50, open to other suggestions. I’m also open to dabbling into DSLRs, but I don’t have much cash to spare.
I have a couple of A series lenses, and a 100-300mm AF in the K mount system, looking at Pentax because I want to be able to use some of my older lenses on a new camera.
I haven’t been able to decide on any one model because I’ve heard mixed stuff about just about all of them. Something with an aperture priority mode would also be good.
Sorry this is kinda all over the place, there’s too many options and it’s hard to pick

Is this fungus?

Bought this lens, the guy selling guaranteed no mold, but there appears to be either mold, or very small scratches which wouldn’t make sense being on the inside of the lens.

ME Super, Program Plus and a few non Pentax
Hauled home an old friend and a few others from my dad's house. I ran so much film through the ME super as a teen. That ME winder was a good way to burn through a roll fast.
Excitement is back...KF is back
Just got my KF back from solenoid rework. I hope this one will not fail. I love this little camera, it's a small capable DSLR with awesome DA lens selection. This shoot was DA70, Satobi+Retro in camera profile.
unlock unreleased filter modes in K-1 (both versions) K-3 III

First time TTArtisan 75 on my K-1 KMII
I just got this lens a few hours ago via a 2nd-hand marketplace in the Netherlands. I had read so much about it and was prepared for quite a learning curve but this baby came out the box a win from my very first few shots, hastily gathered in gloomy Dutch weather while walking Noam - our Old English Sheepdog - in the nearby park.
Can't believe all of the youtubers who tried to make it sound hard to tease bokeh out of this wonderful piece of glass. I'm just going to get a decent metal hood because the front element is big and way too exposed for comfort - hope that will cust down a bit on flare and up contrast as well but for now? Wow!

Pentax KS2 and Aviation
I have a pentax ks2 and want to shoot an airshow with it, what lenses would you all recommend? And can the autofocus hang with a thunderbird or blue angel demonstration?
