Looking for the next RTS game to play? Want to recommend one that doesn't get enough love? Please consider reading or contributing to the community's Wiki pages below:
On the Recommended Games page: Feel free to add content and details. When editing a page please try to follow the existing formatting and be as impartial as possible in your descriptions (i.e. leave out "I really like this game's multiplayer"). If you need help please message the moderators and we can roll-back accidental changes or assist you with using the correct coding/mark-down.
On the Upcoming Games page: Anyone may add games to this list of anticipated games for 2020 and 2021. Even if you don't know all the details about the release date or systems the game will release on, you can add some information, just make sure there is "???" in the other fields, otherwise the chart won't generate. Please follow the existing formatting.
Developers: Please do not add your own game to the list. At a later date we will have a separate list for independent games and games that have developer support within this community. Edits to the wiki are not anonymous!

Greetings, devs and strategists!
We're continuing our policy to have all substantially AI-developed or AI-assisted projects and games get posted in this Megathread or to /r/AIGameDev or /r/VibeCoding. Please see this announcement on the subject.
Devs: Please use this megathread to post top-level comments showcasing your AI-developed projects and games, as well as games substantially relying on AI-derived content (even if it's placeholder content). Standard self-promo posting guidelines still apply.
Everyone else is welcome to discuss and ask questions about the content posted here.
Reminder: Devs, please also make sure that the game you're promoting fits into the expectations of the RTS community. Games should have many gameplay mechanics in common with games such as Starcraft, Company of Heroes, or Age of Empires. Please visit our friends at /r/StrategyGames, /r/TowerDefense, or /r/SurvivalGaming if those are stronger fits for the game's genre. Or message the mods and we'll do our best to answer any questions you may have. Thank you!

Mission types in RTS campaigns:
These are most of the types of missions in RTS games. If you feel there's a certain mission type I haven't mentioned, please do so in the comments.
Also, while most missions often fall in one of these categories, they can be mixed up in the same level. For example, in C&C 3 Tiberium Wars, there's a mission where you have to holdout for a certain amount of time until reinforcements arrive and then you have to defend the convoy up to your base and then go out and eliminate enemy bases.
So, what's your favourite and least favourite type of missions in RTS campaigns?

Want to find someone who was playing or plays this game. Its "online RTS where dark and light forces fight for Black Gem and dominion in a vast fantasy world. Cooperation between players, joint economy development, creation of clans and alliances and elaboration of a team strategy serve as the very foundation of the game."

To preface, this is an OBSERVATION I've had and wanted to share, this is by no means an attack nor witch hunt. I do not have any hard proof to confirm my observations.
With that out of the way ;
I'm pretty sure most of you have heard od Defilade, characteristic art style, crazy good unit AI and seems new and fresh?
Steam page : https://store.steampowered.com/app/5246700/Defilade/
There's two more games that happened to be "just announced". They have a very different gameplay loop and concept than Defilade but they do share an UNCANNY level of simililarity in the selling points of large scale engangements with smart unit AI but most importantly the art style and models, almost looks like a reskin with a different gameplay.
Games in question :
Ebbtide : https://store.steampowered.com/app/4915700/Ebbtide/
Restand : now this one is where it gets more than similar, it seems more like an exact copy of ebbtide, it cannot be found on steam, but
has a very active instagram page :
https://www.instagram.com/mantakustudio?xtok=MWN0dnRpamlka2l5cg==
With gameplay on YouTube too :
https://youtu.be/SMgDRxw046Y?si=rvGRRI6m7KRRFuFS
I've reached out to the dev of Restand, and he's claiming that hes developing it solo, and without talking to the other projects.
Why do these all three games look and feel so similar?
Different concepts, different (allegedly), independent devs all suddenly announced three projects that just look and feel so similar?
I'm starting to (unfortunately) feel like there is some kind of AI dev tool out on Unity, and it happens to create these kind of games.
It would explain the similar timeframe of these announcements AND their uncanny similarity.
My only proof is that EBBTIDE's steam page has a very heavy AI disclosure and what my eyes show me, the similarity is undeniable, and thats what got me thinking.
Are we entering an era of AI generated RTS games sold off as solo dev projects?
TL DR :
Defilade and two other games look extremely similar to each other, albeit with different concepts. Devs claim to be working independently and just happen to have made three independent but similar projects, smells like AI dev tool.
Thoughts?

Hi :) at the moment i am working on a real-time-strategy game.
Instead of chosing a faction, you create your own . You do that by collecting cards during matches that represent units and buildings. Stats are procedurally generated. You can compare the system with a mix of diablo and magic the gathering.
During the matches you also fight bosses, that drop even rarer loot.
If you want to have a look:

The playtest on steam is accessible for free. You get instantly acess !

The game launches November 10. Humanity is caught between the Post-Human Coalition and the AI Substrate, and you can lead the United Earth Forces through the campaign or play any of the three factions in skirmish and multiplayer.
If you're interested, you can wishlist it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3499790/Ashes_of_the_Singularity_II/

I don't know how to play rts, I've never been able to, but I was often drawn to them.
And so I decided to try Dune 2 battle for Arrakis, and thank God there were cheats for immortality and money, in the end they were incredibly useful, I passed the game and you know, I haven't had such a pleasant time for a long time.
I am very grateful to the developers of old rts, they leave cheats, thanks to which you can have fun and get maximum fun, I also went through Starcraft, warcraft, and a couple of old games a long time ago.
Are there any other fans here to indulce with cheats?)

Hello, as the title says, I am looking for an RTS or even an RTT that supports free for all games. The problem is, I prefer RTS games grounded in reality.
I cannot find an RTS based on WW2, the Cold War or Modern War that supports free for all natively. I've tried games like Company of Heroes, but most of the time when I have to mod a game to get FFA it breaks the game for one of my friends with a terrible laptop.
I've been searching for a while, but haven't found anything that's actually fun. Thanks for the help in advance, I know this is a little niche.

In my RTS, four mushroom species grow near trees: two safe, two poisonous. The game never says which is which. A poisonous one fixes hunger but makes the unit sick right away.
Is learning by getting hurt once fine if the cost is small, or would you want a subtle cue (sprite detail, unit reaction) so you can deduce it first?
Examples from other RTS/survival games welcome.

The game has very good mechanics (AoW). But the 3D graphics, like how can someone prefer this to the beauty of Red Alert 2 or even Red Alert 1?
And C&C Generals looks even worse, it looks like AoW but mobile.
I wanted an RTS just like Generals or AoW but looking like Red Alert 2, or Sudden Strike 2. Why ruin it by going 3D?
So I had to uninstall it.
I was told many times by friends to try C&C Generals. But it feels like its going to be the same experience as AoW. Good mechanics and game, but terrible 3D graphics.

I'm primarily a PC gamer, fan of Starcraft and Total War series. I've tried playing RTS games on Android, including the Total War mobile ports, but often find the controls cumbersome, especially on smaller phone screens.
So I decided to make my own take on the genre, focusing on relatively small battles with simple controls. you set up an ambush, then you control ONLY the commander. Kinda like in a real battle.
The result is Ambush the Romans, where you command an evolving force of Gauls fighting Roman invaders through a branching campaign.
I'd love to know whether this kind of streamlined real-time tactics game appeals to other RTS players. I'm not a big fan of the usual mobile gaming aesthetics and monetization myself, so I'm trying to do something different.
