General Men on bumble date looking for friends?!

I am currently living in South Korea. I have no idea if this a Korean thing or a Bumble thing. But why are there so many men in the date side in their 30s and 40s looking for friends only?!? It’s a dating app… is there a reason I’m missing here? I have the free version, so I can’t filter them out. And there are so many.

Rant Missed Bumble connection - David, St. Louis area

This is probably the longest shot of my life, but Reddit, please do your thing.

I was recently talking to a guy named David on Bumble, somewhere around the St. Louis/St. Peters area. He’s in his late 20s/early 30s, works in the conveyor belt industry (and apparently really loves conveyor belts 😂), and has an older female golden retriever.

He also enjoys hockey and traveling!

We were having a genuinely great conversation, but Bumble decided to block my account out of nowhere, right after I verified my newer phone number. We unfortunately hadn’t exchanged numbers or social media yet, so I have absolutely no way to reconnect with him.

David, if you’re somehow reading this, I promise I didn’t ghost you! Bumble just decided our conversation needed an unexpected finale.

If this sounds like you, please message me and mention something we talked about so I know it’s actually you.

And if you’re not David, please send some good luck my way because apparently I’m out here searching for Cinderella, except instead of a glass slipper, I’ve got conveyor belts and a golden retriever!

Funny Weird profile

Basically a guy's profile saying that he's a soon-to-be dad 💀 Insane enough, that you got someone pregnant and the both of you couldn't stay together for the duration of the pregnancy. He also wants a woman who's ready to start a family soon and have multiple children.

Who in his right mind would swipe right on this profile?!?! 😭 Also why the hell are you on bumble, shouldn't you concentrate on your child and supporting the mother even though you're not together anymore? Is this a breeding fetish?? 😭

App Help Testing a localized "quarantine" strategy to fix suppressed visibility after an account reset. Does this work?

Hey everyone,

I (24M) recently deleted and restarted my Bumble account about a week ago (committed to a standard textbook layout: good crisp lead photo, formal shot, fitness/lifestyle action shots, etc.). I quickly hit a wall where my stats completely stalled out, local profiles ran completely dry, and I got hit with the "You're all caught up" screen almost immediately. My profile is visible in my reddit posts.

My raw data right now is:

  • Outgoing: 240 Y / 872 N
  • Incoming: 1 Y / 70 N (Swiped left on the 1 incoming yes)

Because I'm getting a slow trickle of incoming "No" swipes (around 4 on weekdays, 7 on weekends), I know I'm not completely shadowbanned. Instead, it looks like a severe algorithmic visibility throttle because the system linked my device/number to my old account data, combined with a high concentration of early distance rejections when my radius was set wide.

To fix this data hole without nuking the account again, I’m testing a localized "quarantine" strategy and want to know if anyone has actually tried this or seen success with it:

  1. Strict 5km Radius Lockdown: Dropping live distance filters to a tight 5km (around 3 miles) centered directly on my high-density university/city bubble.
  2. The Mutual Overlap Block: This completely cuts off new users 20–30 miles away from seeing my card (stopping passive distance-based left swipes from tanking my internal score any further).
  3. Backlog Processing: Since my outgoing 240 right swipes are already permanently committed to the backend database, those specific lines are still live in those users' decks regardless of my new live radius. If there's nobody left locally, the app's distribution shifts almost entirely to processing that backlog.
  4. 72-Hour Swipe Freeze: Keeping the app installed but not sending a single outgoing right or left swipe for the next few days to halt the compounding negative ratio and let the queue clear.

Has anyone actually used this specific method to rescue a throttled profile or clear an exhausted local cache? Does the algorithm actually recalibrate your local stack placement once you stop the bleeding from long-distance swipes, or is a highly throttled account a lost cause that requires a multi-week scorched-earth reset?

Appreciate any insight from anyone who has looked at the backend data or tried this out.

Advice Women have extremely good photos on the platform

Every time I thought my photos were kind of okay, I'd swipe through women's profiles and see these perfect, high-quality pictures with the best angles possible. 😂

I think How the hell do they get pictures like that?

Seriously, women are geniuses when it comes to finding the perfect lighting, angle, pose and photo quality.

Congrats, ladies. You win this one. 😂👏

Rant Bumble Premium subscriber, but Incognito Mode is completely missing. Anyone else experienced this?

I recently subscribed to Bumble Premium for three months, mainly because I wanted to use Incognito Mode for privacy.
However, after subscribing, I discovered that Incognito Mode is completely missing from my settings. There is no toggle or option to activate it anywhere.
I’ve already tried:
Checking the app settings, including Security and Privacy
Restarting the app
Using Restore Purchases, which says there are no purchases to restore
Confirming through my iPhone’s Apple subscription settings that my Bumble Premium subscription is active
I’m currently using Snooze Mode because I don’t want my profile to become publicly visible until I can activate Incognito Mode.
I also tried Bumble’s in-app support, but the response directed me to Apple’s refund process rather than explaining why the feature was missing.
I’ve now requested a refund through Apple.
Has anyone else experienced this, particularly on iOS? Is Incognito Mode still available to regular Bumble Premium subscribers? If so, where did you find it?
I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has encountered and resolved this issue.

General The reason you see less attractive dudes constantly in relationships IRL while you're not is because they're neurotypical. You can't afford to be a chopped neurodivergent guy with little to offer.

• Upvotes

All those ugly and fat dudes you see constantly in relationships? They're neurotypical. That's the magic sauce.

They instinctively learn who is attracted to them by noticing how their body reacts to social feedback, and in turn, their standards and attraction adjustion accordingly.

They can make friends naturally at work or practically anywhere, and naturally some of those friends will be women or will introduce them to women who naturally have chemistry with them, regardless of their looks.

Even on dating apps, they'll have some success at least because their vibe is good. Like actually. Not memeing. Neurodivergent vibe is palpable and will turn off many neurotypical people. Which is most of the world.

The fact that this isn't you should be a sign you can't coast in the same way and need to stand out in other ways.

Literally that's the reason. Unless you look like a deformed toenail, anyone can get into a relationship...if they're neurotypical. Otherwise, you need to be a tryhard neurodivergent and look better or play the algorithm game better.

Profile review Average looking guy looking for tips on my profile. Swiping stats included

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a little advice on my profile. I’d say I’m pretty average-looking, but I feel like I’m getting overlooked a bit more than I expected.

I got out of a 6-year relationship about 2 years ago and only recently decided to dip my toes back into the dating pool. I’ve been on the apps for about 1.5–2 months, gotten a handful of likes, and gone on a few dates, but nothing has really gone anywhere so far.

I know dating apps can be a bit of a circus, so I’m curious if this is pretty normal or if my profile could use some serious help. Any feedback or advice is appreciated!

Advice Communication issues

What do you guys think of a guy not texting me? Is that an indication that he doesn’t like me? I matched with this guy 2 weeks ago, texting has been extremely poorly, I was the one who always texted first and I always initiated bc he’s very attractive. Then he asked me out, but he said that he wanted to call first bc he was worried we might not vibe together. We called for 3 hours and the conversations were amazing, he was attentive, asked me a bunch of questions, remembered small details about myself. Then he disappeared again, so I asked him if he still wanted to get get to know each other more, he said yes and finally asked me out officially. We didn’t talk again until the date. It was very good, it was a cute date where we went for pottery painting and coffee, we only stayed for 2 hours though, because he had to leave because he’s from out of town. I told him to let me know once he got home. He messaged me once he got home and he said that he had a good time, but he didn’t say anything about wanting to see me again. I told him that he’s very cute, and asked him if he had fun but I’ve been on delivered for 2 days. Like I know he doesn’t text at all, but idk what to think, like he didn’t like me? Or he’s just gonna text me to arrange another date. Has anyone gone through this? Like a guy who doesn’t text at all, but is amazing over the phone and in person? What are your thoughts?

Montana is a post apocalyptic hellscape. Been back on the dating apps for a month after a solid break to focus on myself. 0 matches, 2 likes from bumble and 3 from hinge, all women over 70 miles away that are hardly compatible with me at all.

General What exactly makes bumble different these days? Tinder is for hookups, hinge is for ltr, bumble isn't really about female first messaging anymore. But I've noticed theres a certain aesthetic of bumble people that's different from Tinder

I've noticed a lot of women who like baseball or maybe they're career women. There's a certain aesthetic of bumble profiles that seems unique but also very very bland.

I also don't understand what makes bumble different from other dating apps at this point?

General Dating apps aren't necessarily broken, but swiping has made dating feel more disposable

I think one of the biggest problems with dating apps like Bumble is that people can start treating potential partners like profiles to evaluate instead of actual people to get to know.

When you have endless profiles to swipe through, it's easy to assume someone better might be just a few swipes away. Even a decent conversation can get abandoned because another match looks more interesting. Meanwhile, people who might actually be compatible never get the chance to find out.

Good photos matter, obviously, because they're the first impression. But having an attractive profile doesn't automatically mean someone knows how to communicate, show genuine interest, or build a relationship.

I also think success stories like engagements are a useful reminder that dating apps can work. The problem is that finding a partner requires more than collecting matches. You still need consistency, honest intentions, and a willingness to get to know someone beyond their pictures.

I'd rather have one genuine connection than dozens of matches that go nowhere. Dating apps should be a way to meet people, not a substitute for actually getting to know them.

Hi all - 35F here. I just created an acct earlier today. I just checked my profile and app saying this much people ‘liked’ me.I’m bound to think since my account is new that Bumble is doing something to it for more exposure. I’m curious if this is marketing ploy to get people to upgrade their plan. I mean, is the premium one worth it? TIA!
