It’s the older 3DS XL. Came with the charger, weird grip, and 2 games. I want to mod it, as I have a spare 64gb sd card, but there’s a couple issues.

I peeled the god awful stickers and found scuffs, nicks, and signs of obvious use on the original blue shell, both screens are scratched with a particularly bad scratch on the bottom screen that shows when the screen is on. The buttons and analog stick actually feel surprisingly very nice, tight, and clicky. Hinge is also strong too.

I know cost of a full refurbishment is like 175, which I don’t mind paying. Is it worth refurbishing this since it’s in not so nice condition and I already own it for so cheap, or is it worth getting rid of for a New 3DS XL, even though it’s not in super nice condition?

Just a few scuffs on the paint, besides this massive chip behind the shoulder button.

The console works fine, hinge is behaving correctly, functionally you wouldn’t be able to tell it took a fall until you looked at the chip.

Should I be concerned over future structural integrity, or debris/dust/moisture getting into this chip?

Hi all! I’ve been building a homebrew app for my 3DS and wanted to check whether anyone else would find it useful before polishing it for a release.

It’s an internet radio player inspired by Radio Garden: you spin a globe on the top screen, center a city in the crosshair and listen to its local stations live. It’s working on my New 3DS, but it’s still in testing.

What it does right now:

• 🌍 3D globe (with stereoscopic 3D), real day/night line, slowly drifting stars and the occasional comet
• 📻 ~7,500 MP3 stations in ~3,500 cities (data from radio-browser.info), with song titles, favorites, search, genre filters and the option to add your own stations
• 💬 Built-in IRC chat (#3DSRadio on Libera.Chat) where you can share what you’re listening to, and others tap it to tune in
• ⏰ Bedside mode: big 3D amber clock, radio alarm, sleep timer, and a screens-off “pocket mode”
• 🎨 Themes inspired by Windows 95, Mac OS 7, Winamp and iTunes, plus a spectrum visualizer

It requires CFW and installs as a .cia.

A few questions for you:

1. Would you actually use something like this on your 3DS?
2. Which features matter most to you, and what’s missing?
3. Is the community chat a nice touch, or something you’d rather not have?

I noticed tiny little black lines on the bottom of the top screen of my DS, and I turned on my DS today and suddenly there's a long black line right down the centre. Is there any way to fix this?

I recently found a pristine Hyrule edition New 3DS LL for $360. It came with a Hori carrying case and I bought a TNP clear case for it. I hear the clear case can cause problems but I want to know the best way to keep it from getting any scratches or paint peel and general wear and tear. Should I get a skin for it before inserting it into the clear case? If so which one should I go for?

its not in sleep mode, f1 and f2 fuses have been replaced and it wont work with a different 2ds battery. any suggestions?

I'm looking to mod my ds dsi and 3ds. I've seen many tutorials but would very appreciate and benefit from anyone's experience with modding. I'm looking to play all pokemon as well as Originals like donkey Kong and pac man.

Any of ur recommendations would be very helpful. Maybe what software you download also how it lasts and runs. I know i could look up tutorials but im just looking to pick some educated ears on real experience with these mods. Thank you for reading.

There is this small gap but I dont know if thats the problem

So Ive had my new 3ds XL for a while and the thumb analog thingy it's really slippery and also leaves a sticky residue on my thumb, I've tried cleaning it a few times and it's till like that also the top part of the rubber comes of the plastic a little bit should I get it replaced with a 3rd party on eBay or somthing else?

EDIT: To achieve this I'm using a homebrew app called Kasumi and streaming Halo through GeForce Now. Getting a very stable 30fps, with a clear resolution and no input delay

Aight so when I got my black New 3Ds it was already pre modded and all that and when I bought it I asked the seller if it included a backup of the premodded NAND and they said it did. Me being stupid didnt check as soon as it came in and now when I remembered about it and went to check for the NAND to back it up I cant find it. What can I do protect my system incase something happens? All i have in the GM9 out folder and backup folder dont look like a sys NAND back up. Only a "essential_00.exefs" file in the backup folder. Any recommendations on what should be done will be very helpful

EDIT cause clarification: I like to keep my systems in working even though I have multiple just out of respect for my things. I dont plan on reselling in the future just want to have a plan incase something goes wrong.

Hi all! i just got a copy of rock band 3 at my local game store. The game stays inserted, but says the game was removed every time it boots up? Everything said it should work fine on a 3ds.. it happens every time. The back of the game looks fine too, and it reads the game. Is there a specific reason its not working? It's a clean copu so i didnt think it needed to be cleaned, especially since they cleaned it at the store. (T_T)

I feel this sub could really benefit from an faq. i see a lot of the same questions over and over such as "where can i find a new battery?" "what can i do about peeling?" and of course the ever present "is it normal for my screen to wobble?" i just think it could be helpful. maybe do a community poll about what questions are seen the most?
