#Miscellaneous 📃 Street dogs keep tearing my Activa seat despite using a scooty cover. Please help!

Post image
645 Upvotes

I'm honestly so frustrated. Street dogs keep coming back and chewing the seat of my Honda Activa, and this has happened multiple times now.

I already use a scooty cover, but they still manage to get to the seat and tear it apart. I've had to deal with this repeatedly, and I'm at my wit's end. There are no provisions to park inside a gate.

Has anyone else faced this problem? Please help me figure out how to stop this from happening again. I'm tired of getting the seat repaired over and over. 😭

#Customisation 🎨 Made a bike navigation system with old phone. Turns on and off with ignition. Spoiler

The phone automatically boots and launches google maps once the key is inserted.

When the bike is parked, no one can unlock the phone no matter how many times they press the power button.

I have downloaded offline maps for maharashtra in google maps so i dont even need internet to use the maps. Just start the bike, and you are good to go.

The only thing needed is a charging port on the bike because that’s how the phone detects that the key is inserted.

Once the key is removed, the phone goes into deep sleep and barely consumes any power. So the phone wont shut down even if the bike is parked for weeks.

Even if it shuts down, it will boot automatically when the key is inserted and launch google maps.

I have also added a feature of notification mirroring from the primary phone. So i can know who is calling or messaging while im riding without checking my primary phone.

If this post gets 1000 upvotes, i will post a full guide on how exactly i did that

#Discussion 💬 Loved NS 400z

I recently took test drive of pulsar ns 400z( 350cc) and it was amazing. It looked very impressive, especially from front. I don’t like headlight designs of other pulsar similar bikes, but ns 400 headlights just look so clean.

I first time drove a 40bhp bike, it was crazy quick. And scary fast, like borderline insane( for me). I realised i have to get used to this much power and take time with this bike if I decided to purchase it. I currently drives hero glamour 125 (2014 model).

Well my daily commute is mainly of city and i do think ns 400z power is too much for city commute, also its mileage is also very low. But i do like how it looks and provides excellent package for its value. I was also thinking of n250 and newly launched n250 ss, but i don’t like their headlight setup.

So, NS 400Z owners can you please share your experience of owning this beautiful beast, how’s your after sale experience, wear and tear of bike( if any), build quality of bike, does it age well. And lastly would you recommend it. My fellow bike enthusiasts can also help me decide whether i should consider it or not.

#Discussion 💬 Beeline moto II alternative with OBD support

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

So I ride a Triumph Speed 400 and, for the last year, I’ve been using one of those ₹500 “sasti masti” phone holders with my cheap Android phone.
Recently I switched to an iPhone, and now I’m honestly too scared to mount a ₹70k+ phone on that holder. Between the vibrations, camera OIS issues, and the thought of it flying off, I’d rather not risk it.
I’ve always loved the Beeline Moto II. It does exactly what I want—a minimal navigation display instead of mounting my entire phone. But at ~₹25k, I just can’t justify the price.
So I started building my own alternative. It’s still a work in progress, but the idea is:
Minimal turn-by-turn navigation
Rugged and weather-resistant
Easy handlebar mount
Much more affordable than a Beeline
One feature I’m also exploring is OBD integration. For bikes that support it, the device could display live data like RPM, coolant temperature, battery voltage, gear position (where available), fault codes, etc. For example, on the Speed 400, I’d much rather have a clear digital RPM display than rely on the tiny tachometer.
Before I sink a lot more time into this, I wanted to ask the community:
Is this something you’d actually buy if it was well-built? What would be a fair price? And what features would make it an instant buy for you?

#Review 📝 Best All-rounder and Value for money bike - Is Suzuki Vstrom worth extra money over TVS Ronin

Thumbnail
gallery
24 Upvotes

I'm from Ahmedabad and looking to buy an all-rounder bike within a 2 lakh on-road budget.

My requirements:

- Height: 5'8"

- Usage: Daily city commuting + occasional touring (150-250 km, around twice a month). (I have pickup and drop facility in company I work, so daily city use is not actually daily, hope you understand)

- Good suspension and comfortable ride on typical Indian roads.

- Mileage: 40+ km/l on highways at around 80-90 km/h, fine with around 32-35 km/l in the city.

- Reliable engine, low maintenance, and comfortable riding posture are deal breaker.

- 10+ years ownership

- Occasionally carry a pillion (my mother should be able to sit within city).

- Not an aggressive rider, so performance isn't a priority. Electronics features are a bonus, not a necessity(not a deal breaker).

I've shortlisted the TVS Ronin and thinking to stretch my budget to Suzuki Vstrom (if it's worth extra money).

Which would be the better all-rounder in terms of reliability, comfort, mileage, and overall value for money? Would love to hear real-world experiences from owners!

#News 📰 The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 Is Here — 158 PS, Front & Rear Radar, and Self-Lowering Suspension!

🏍️ The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 Is Here — 158 PS, Front & Rear Radar, and Self-Lowering Suspension!

Triumph has officially unveiled the next-generation Tiger 1200, its flagship adventure-tourer, with major upgrades to performance, suspension, rider assistance and everyday usability. And honestly, the technology package looks seriously impressive.

Here’s everything important about the new machine. 👇

🔥 Engine & Performance

- Engine: 1,160 cc, liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder, DOHC, 12-valve

- Maximum power: 158 PS (155.8 bhp) at 9,250 rpm

- Maximum torque: 130 Nm at 6,750 rpm

- Transmission: 6-speed gearbox

- Clutch: Wet, multi-plate slip-and-assist clutch

- Final drive: Shaft drive

- Quickshifter: Triumph Shift Assist

- Riding modes: Up to 8, depending on the variant

Triumph has refined the engine, gearbox and shaft drive to improve low-speed control, smoothness and overall rideability.

🛠️ Major Chassis & Suspension Updates

One of the biggest changes is the revised wheel setup across the range.

- Front wheel: 19-inch

- Rear wheel: 17-inch

- Suspension: SHOWA EERA HEIGHTFLEX semi-active suspension

- Suspension travel: 200 mm front and rear

- Suspension settings: Firm, Medium and Soft

- Brakes: Brembo Stylema front brake calipers

- Lighting: Adaptive LED cornering headlight

The GT models use cast aluminium wheels for a more road-focused setup, while the Rally models get side-laced spoked wheels for a more rugged adventure-bike character.

🤯 Self-Lowering Suspension — A Huge Practical Upgrade

The new HEIGHTFLEX system automatically lowers the seat by approximately 30 mm when coming to a stop.

With the optional low seat in its lower position, Triumph quotes a seat height of:

- 790 mm when stationary

- 820 mm while riding

It also introduces Centre Stand Assist, which temporarily increases suspension preload to reduce the effort needed to put the bike on its centre stand.

For a large adventure motorcycle, these are genuinely useful improvements.

📡 Front & Rear Radar Technology

The new Tiger 1200 gets Bosch-developed front and rear radar, enabling an advanced rider-assistance package that includes:

- Adaptive Cruise Control

- Blind Spot Assist

- Forward Collision Warning

- Emergency Brake Assist

- Group Ride Assist

- Riding Distance Assist

- Rear Distance Warning

These systems are designed to improve rider awareness, particularly on long-distance rides and busy highways. Availability and operation can vary by model and market.

📱 Technology & Connectivity

- New 7-inch HD touchscreen TFT display

- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

- Integrated cooled phone compartment

- USB-C charging

- Updated switchgear

- Comprehensive electronic rider-assistance systems

Triumph is clearly pushing the Tiger 1200 further into the premium, technology-focused adventure-touring category.

🏕️ Four Variants Explained

  1. Tiger 1200 GT Pro — Road-focused adventure touring with cast wheels and a 20-litre fuel tank.

  2. Tiger 1200 Rally Pro — More off-road-oriented equipment, spoked wheels, additional engine protection and Off-road Pro riding mode.

  3. Tiger 1200 GT Explorer — Road-focused touring with a larger 30-litre fuel tank and additional equipment.

  4. Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer — The adventure-focused flagship, combining spoked wheels, a 30-litre tank and additional protection, including upper engine bars.

📊 Key Specifications at a Glance

💰 Price & Availability

Triumph's UK announcement lists the following starting prices:

- GT Pro: £18,295

- Rally Pro: £18,995

- GT Explorer: £19,875

- Rally Explorer: £20,575

UK dealership arrivals are expected from December 2026.

India pricing: An official India price for the updated model has not been confirmed in the announcement available as of 28 October 2026. UK pricing should not be treated as an Indian ex-showroom or on-road price.

🏁 My Take

The combination of 158 PS, semi-active self-lowering suspension, front and rear radar, smartphone connectivity and four distinct variants makes the new Tiger 1200 a substantial evolution of Triumph's flagship adventure tourer.

The switch to 19-inch front wheels across the lineup is particularly interesting. It gives the Rally models a different wheel configuration from the previous 21-inch-front setup, so it'll be interesting to see how the updated bikes perform in real off-road conditions.

Discussion time! 👇

  1. Would you choose the GT Explorer or Rally Explorer?

  2. Is front-and-rear radar becoming a must-have feature on premium adventure bikes?

  3. Do you think the 19-inch front wheel across the range is the right move?

  4. Would you consider the new Tiger 1200 over the BMW R 1300 GS or Ducati Multistrada V4?

Official announcement: https://www.triumphmotorcycles.com/for-the-ride/news/motorcycles/triumph-launches-new-tiger-1200-2026-10-27

Specifications and prices may vary by market. Indian pricing and availability remain subject to official confirmation.

#RoadTrip 🛣️ Throwback to when me and my friend did an 1800km roundtrip from Kochi to Hampi and back on our classic 350s and on a budget of ₹8000

Thumbnail

Here are some pictures from last year when me and my friend-both 20, rode from Kochi to Hampi via Mysore and back home through Bangalore on our Classic 350s in 5 days. We covered almost 1800kms through 3 states with a strict budget of just ₹8000 per-person and yes it included the fuel cost, accommodation expenses, food etc.

It was both our first time exploring the state of Karnataka and the most fun we’ve had in our lives, In those 5 days:

-We came face to face with a huge Indian Gaur🦬(Bro was low-key chill)

-Rode through a dense forest inhabited with wild animals at night and got questioned by forest officials for it. (We didn’t think much until the roads started getting narrower, thankfully we didn’t run into any tigers🥶)

-Slept in a ₹400 Hotel room.😃(Thinking about it..it was more-of a lodge even-though the website said otherwise, the bed was held up on what looked like scrap wood but having walls on all sides and lock on the door was our priority even though it meant sleeping in our sleeping bags on the bed, not complaining though 😅)

-Saw a natural phenomenon called ‘the dust devil’🌪️.(Says ChatGPT…I genuinely thought it was a fkn tornado)

-Had delicious food from a dhaba for the first time. (no we don’t have those at home)

-Rode through stunning yet deserted roads with no vehicles in sight for a long time, occasionally hitting 120kmph, and then eventually got annoyed by the after-market exhaust. (I didn’t know the day would ever come)

- Got spooked by a guy with a massive blade on his hips at night💀(it was crazy)

-Visited the stone charriot, which is featured on the ₹50 note

-Tried to outrun the rain(Ended up soaked anyway)

-Got trapped in the infamous Bangalore traffic, it was so bad that I decided never to visit Bangalore again with own bikes or cars 🙂(The city was beautiful🖤)

Our only regret from the entire ride is that we didn’t choose the road that goes through Bellary on our return that apparently goes through Andhra Pradesh :((we didn’t know that)

rented scooters for 4 years. only ever rode my dad's bike before that. now i'm about to sign a loan for a 250cc and i keep changing my mind every 3 days.

was set on the xtreme 250r. now the duke 250 is in my head. planning a long ride home to MP once i get it, which might be stupid as a first trip.

what did your first long ride teach you that you wish you knew before

#Opinion 💭 These boots are so good that for the first time ever….

Post image
11 Upvotes

…I purchased the same boot again. After more than 65 months of active service, week after week, the newer and more improved Orazo boots are at home.

The old one has been looked down upon by too many people in my circle. All I know is that it is durable and it saved my left foot when I slid down tarmac with my bike on top of it. Not to mention the time when I flew off the bike on a dirt track.

Love these boots after having gone through Raida, Shima and Gaerne.

In pic - the old boot and the new one

#Discussion 💬 I am tired of getting low mileage.

Post image
54 Upvotes

This is my CT100 kick start model registered in 2020, and manufactured in 2019. People used to brag a lot about the mileage so I purchased it. But I constantly get around 50 to 55 kmph from day 1.

And for last few months, mechanic is also saying that less engine oil is getting drained during oil change and is recommending some engine tweaks.

I use Motul 3000 20w40 engine oil and xP100 petrol for 2-3 months.

Biggest issue is mileage. I am facing some severe personal problems, and for which I have to drive Rapido for a while, but I can't do on this bike. Fuel finishes very quickly. I have purchased mileage calculator bottle. I will be testing it very soon with xP100 petrol and with regular petrol.

I am about to purchase Hero Vida VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh electric using my friends credit card, and I super nervous whether that is a good decision or not.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
