Trivia If someone used Pierces sperm to get pregnant, they could be 12 years old now

The original airdate of the episode was January 16, 2014. So adding 9 months for gestation, they could be 12 years old. Maybe we could see a new Hawthorne junior in the movie.

Appreciation Post Frankie’s line about the IT lady

I'm trying to find the IT lady. My emails to her get bounced back to me in Aramaic, and when I call, I hear an undulating high-pitched whistle that makes my nose bleed.

I’ve seen her deliver this line so many times and every time I’m laughing like it’s the first. Brilliant call back to her as the IT lady, brilliant way to work a meta joke into the dialogue so naturally

Discussion How do I get my roommate to watch?

Post image

Title. I am currently in college, and my roommate and I spend a lot of time in the dorm together. We have a projector that we like to watch stuff on, and my favorite show of course is Community. I know my roommates sense of humor, and I feel like he would love the show if he got into watching it. However, he prides himself in being the “wokest” person you could meet. It’s great how accepting he is of other people, and his viewpoints are all great, but it gets to the point where he will refuse to watch a show like Community simply because of characters like Pierce, and jokes that were made 10+ years ago. Does anyone have any advice on how to navigate this? I would love to be able to share this with him, but I don’t know how to get through to him.

Discussion Is the popular opinion that Remedial Chaos Theory is mostly all in Abed's imagination?

I was thinking about this and I'm not sure if I've cracked the code on this episode of if I've realized what everyone else already figured out.

My interpretation of Remedial Chaos Theory is that the episode isn't literally about the parallel timelines that actual exist in this world but rather how Abed perceives the world.

Abed is a student of character and believes himself to understand people on a deep, unique level. Naturally, his perception of how the group dynamic is affect by one person going downstairs for a few minutes reflects this.

However, Abed's deep understanding of how people is challenged later in season 3 with the episode Virtual Systems Analysis. The thesis of this episode is that Abed's seeming knowledge of how people function and how things will play out is clouded by fears and insecurities, like all good science fiction.

Believing that all the timelines are in Abed's imagination, then it makes sense how his biases affect what we see in the timelines. The timeline where Abed leaves is the saddest one. It's just a bitter, realistic timeline where none of the fun TV logic applies, where they fight and there isn't a happy sitcom resolution to this.

Most importantly, what triggers the darkest timeline?

Troy leaving.

The timeline where Troy leaves is the darkest timeline because it's not just about what happens for a few minutes, but extrapolating what would happen if they left the group forever. Everything falls apart when Troy leaves because he's Abed's best friend and potentially losing Troy is something Abed has to come to terms with in the later half of the season.

Ultimately, I believe Remedial Chaos Theory to be more than just a creative episode, but excellent foreshadowing of Abed's character arc throughout the season.

With this theory, then what does the ending mean? I've heard lots of different interpretations but believing that the episode is all in Abed's head, then I think it's pretty simple. It's not about how the group doesn't need Jeff or whatever. I think it's about the reality of what the episode is. The timelines present the scenario as a powder keg of unpredictable outcomes.

The timeline where Jeff gets the pizza is the real timeline and it presents the scenario as it really is. Just friends hanging out and having a good time.

This is how I interpret the episode and I'm not sure if it's a common theory or not.

Discussion Serious Question- who would like to organize another communityCon with me?

I consider myself the biggest community fan. I know the cast claims they are working on the movie but I think it’s time we come together and create another Con! With all of our help, we can get the word out on social media. I feel like it will get so much attention that the fan base grows bigger and maybe put pressure on the team to finish the movie. If you are serious about being apart of this event with me; please let me know. I’m pushing for spring or fall 2027.

Discussion How would you feel if everyone came back for the movie?

Pierce, Shirley, Troy, Garrett, Prof Hickey come back and are introduced super smash bros style. Do you think they would accept? I know Chevy has looked down on his role but no way he believes it isn’t his best role right? I don’t think Dan Harmon can create a movie without his ideal characters
