MLB The r/Nationals World Series Megathread
Obviously, this is r/baseball's time to shine; note that our own u/yousmelllikebiscuits is a key mod there, so the place will be up to his standards.
This thread exists for Nats fans to talk amongst ourselves: please highlight any former Nats doing well in the greener pastures of October baseball (who's left?) and discuss why you like either franchise.
Scheduling is super simple: Fox/FS1/"FoxONE" has the entire series.
The official MLB schedule is here:
Also, for those with access to the Post, here's their formerly excellent but now in need of occasional double-checking daily sports listing:

Which of these three volatile relievers will break out in 2027?
I have a feeling one (maybe 2) of Riley Cornelio, Yovanny Cruz or Luis Perales will break out in 2027. Not totally sure which ones though. Let me know what you think

OC Nationals fans, which jersey do you prefer?(though I probably already know the answer)
These are Connect Connects, City Connects that are themed specifically around transportation! Every team has gotten one at this point. Check my profile for the other teams.
We got:
The DC License plate
And the Washington Metro
Am I missing any important transportation that you guys take to Nationals Park ? Is there something to be improved upon ?

Journalism [Nusbaum]: Nationals plan to retain entire coaching staff but part ways with trainers: Sources
The Washington Nationals plan to bring back all 12 coaches who ended the season on Blake Butera’s staff, according to several people in the organization who spoke to The Athletic on condition of anonymity to freely discuss personnel. But Washington did not renew the contracts of five of the big-league team’s training and strength coaches.
While teams sometimes revamp their training staff the year following an organizational overhaul, Washington’s decision to part with most of its training and strength staff doesn’t really square with its performance at the big-league level. The Nationals had a relatively clean bill of health in 2026, if such a thing exists in the modern game, with the third-fewest IL placements in baseball, according to the Associated Press.
The team also finished the season with only one position player (James Wood) landing on the IL with a soft-tissue injury in 2026, which helped contribute to the offense’s improvements and 11 more wins than the 2025 season. Players and coaches described the training and medical staff’s approach as proactive and spoke favorably of the group and its continuity.

Former Nat That was the single best ad for any player ever
Foster Griffin in game 4 through 5 innings demonstrably proved the Guardians were massively foolish and he held a potential World Series team to one run. If he stayed in they might’ve won. Anyone who has a chance with talks with him now has to triple their salary. Well done.

Brand New Jersey
I purchased this Washington Nationals jersey for my brother. It’s brand new never worn. We just realized it wasn’t gonna fit him after we had taken the tags off so now I can’t return it. If anybody wants a brand new jersey maybe send me a DM. It’s not free but maybe half and just shipping. It’s a size 2X.

7 Years ago today, the Nationals swept the Cardinals in Game 4, 7-4, to win the NLCS and advance to the World Series for the first time in franchise history.
Relive the memories, DC. It'll be a while until we gain hope again.
