Discussion White Sox Labeled One of the Best Fits for Tarik Skubal, But It's An Impossible Dream
Jim Bowden of the Athletic named the White Sox as a good fit for the White Sox along with the Dodgers & Mets. Jim must not know Jerry very well, because that isn’t happening unfortunately.

Discussion To all of the Score-Heads/Radio Guys calling Schriffen an A-Hole, I would like them to show their receipts.
As someone who was not a fan of John's broadcasting, I am equally disgusted at all the radio/media guys absolutely ripping on the guy for no reason. They need to start sharing some receipts about his character if they are going to personally attack him.

News Can anyone tell me why “South Side Samurai” is a controversial nickname?
I’m Japanese and not interested in baseball actually, but I’m so surprised to hear the news that an baseball broadcaster will lose his job for calling Munetaka Murakami, a famous Japanese baseball player, “South Side Samurai”. Why do some people think this nickname is bad? We love to be called Samurai just like sensei. I don’t seriously understand why this can cause a racial problem.

News It was an Emmy winning season!
I’ve posted a lot of my fiancé’s White Sox videos for CHSN from this season and would like to share that the network won an Emmy for White Sox live programming, which included a lot of his videos.
You can catch more of his videos on CHSN for this Bulls and Blackhawks. (He made the video for the viral Stacey King tribute from last week!)
*Chicago/Midwest Emmy.

Discussion 2026 White Sox offseason moves to make (or not to make)
- I think the Brewers are showing what an evolved version of the White Sox pitching plan from this season would look like, so I’m going to stay with Grant Taylor and Hagen Smith being bullpen weapons who still end up around 90 innings on the season (leaving the door open to one or both starting in the future)
- Offer to buy out Miguel Vargas’ arbitration years for a discount on his long term deal - my offer would be a deal to extend him through 2033 for $125M total (buying out his three arb years at $6M/$10M/$14M then a four year extension at $23M/$23M/$24M/$25M)
- Extend Mune (3 yrs $60M team option year 3)
- Sign Padres LHP reliever Adrien Morejon (3 yrs $42M)
- Sign OF Seiya Suzuki (3 yrs $48M)
- Sign LHP Shota Imanaga (2 yrs $38M)
- Trade/DFA/Prepare to eat the contracts of Anthony Kay ($5M) and Andrew Benintendi ($15M)
- Plan to start Caleb Bonemer in AAA unless he forces his way onto the team with his bat in spring training (I don’t think skipping a full year of AAA has been great for the recent White Sox prospect’s strikeout issues)
Tentative Plan for the 26-man roster on Opening Day:
Starting Rotation: Sean Burke (RHP), Shota Imanaga (LHP), Luis Castillo (RHP), Davis Martin (RHP), David Sandlin (RHP)
Bullpen: Noah Schultz (LHP), Bryan Hudson (LHP), Adrian Morejon (LHP), Hagen Smith (LHP), Mike Vasil (RHP), Huascar Brazobán (RHP), Jordan Hicks (RHP), Grant Taylor (RHP)
Catchers: Kyle Teel (L/R), Joey Bart (R/R)
Infielders: Chase Meidroth (R/R), Miguel Vargas (R/R), Munetaka Murakami (L/R), Colson Montgomery (L/R)
Outfielders: Tristan Peters (L/R), Seiya Suzuki (R/R), Brenton Doyle (R/R), Braden Montgomery (S/R)
Utility: Sam Antonacci (L/R), Luisangel Acuna (R/R), Rikuu Nishida (L/R)
Thoughts?

News If the Brewers complete the sweep, they'd join the 1999 Yankees and 2005 White Sox as the only 11-1 Wild Card-era playoff teams (1994-). The only team to sweep a multi-series postseason was the 7-0 1976 Reds, back when the LCS was best-of-5.

Original Content Outsider here! Looking for a White Sox fan who plays fantasy baseball
I am recruiting for a MLB-realistic 30T Salary Cap dynasty baseball league that is currently about halfway full. We are trying to fill the teams with owners who are fans of that team, and the White Sox are one of our open teams right now. We use real player salaries and have a hard cap as well as a salary floor. It's super active and tons of fun, so I hope you consider joining us and repping the White Sox! DM or comment below for more info.

Question Gift ideas for fiancé?
His favorite team is obvious. His favorite player is Frank Thomas. He has a lot of baseball cards and has started collecting them again.
I need gift ideas for him. I was thinking of an autographed bat but I don’t know where to look because I don’t want to be scammed.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know! I am stumped.
Thank you so much!!!

Question Who are you rooting for in the World Series?
This World Series is a great matchup, but it feels weird watching and not having a rooting interest in either team. Both teams have relatively modest payrolls compared to the top spenders. Both teams are extremely well-run and I respect their styles of baseball. The Rays beat the Yankees and Guardians, which sparks joy. But the Brewers winning would upset a lot of Cubs and Packers fans, which also sparks joy. Or are you just enjoying watching two excellent teams go at it? I'm finding that I'm not instinctively rooting for one team or the other.
(Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere. I only saw a couple scattered comment threads.)

Discussion Someday?
Decided on this beautiful day why not get my steps in by checking out the area around the 78. I arrive via South Shore so I had to then walk here from 18th Street where they are stopping today.
Took about 30 min. I only walk or take the L to games so seems alright. I have a ton of questions about the logistics of moving this Amtrak place. Won’t trains still need these tracks here leaving Union Station? There is a bunch of Metra trains too. I guess I should read their full plan.
Seems like an area of downtown that is ripe for development. I do love the current stadium. I am continuing my walk that way to go to Ricobene’s for lunch. But getting in on the development here could help the franchise immensely.
PS other than the Sears tower the skyline view isn’t that great sadly. But could definitely beat what we have now.
