World New Monster hunter world player here how often do you change weapons to keep yourself engage?

• Upvotes

So this is my first monster hunter game and I am about to reach HR 10. I have been using Sword and Shield from the start and that weapon really suits my fast pace and quick playstyle.

But due to this once I get the latest upgrade available for that and the one I like it literally kills the incentive to grind for materials and since I am still at early game there is no thinking for build variety and strategy planning.

Since I had materials because I didn't had to use for the upgrades I didn't wanted I used them on the other weapons and tried some of them turns out some weapons give completely different experience than SnS.

When I started playing this game the fun aspect was learning different monster and then aim for new gears and grind for them. Unfortunately, the versatility of SnS is actually acting as a negative because it gives two problems

-First is abusing monster openings, aggresive playstyle and quick movement helps recovering quickly and makes the monster fights too easy.

-Second it feels like forever to kill anything like after some time I am just getting the feeling "Why isn't this thing dead yet" instead "Damn how long I have to survive more!" The second problem I had when I just started which kept me on edge but the first instance feels like a chore.

Discussion The outlanders side of the community...

Post image
• Upvotes

You know, I thought everyone was overreacting when they were talking about Outlanders and the people who stan it. I thought, “People just hate gacha.”

So, I went to check out the community.

Now, I've had my fair share of toxicity in games, barely any in Monster Hunter, but I knew it was there.

But Jesus Christ, I didn't know it was this bad...

Don't make a joke, because those people will freak out and get all pissy. And when I tell you they hate Wilds, man, they HATE Wilds.

Someone told me Wilds had gacha.

“Wilds is worse than gacha games.”

I was ready to argue with these fellas, raring to go. I was about to go in swinging, and then I remembered...

They play gacha games. 😂😂😂

(Edit: The joke I made was, “Man, this game's already dead. Nobody's on the servers!” If you can't put two and two together, IDK.)

Discussion Angry Owl

This magnificent angry owl needs to come back. Sure it's not the hardest hitting monster or all that difficult but the fact it can confuse you and it invertes your controller for the duration made it such a unique and fun fight.

Iceborne Question for Great Sword Mains/Enjoyers (World/IB).

It's mostly about the operation of the weapon itself and seeing if I am understanding it well enough or if there is some kind of...Misunderstanding I am having about the weapon in its entirety?

I am trying my best to understand every weapon in Monster Hunter: World as best I can and Great Sword never really clicked with me in just about any Monster Hunter title with Wilds being the closest I got due to the fact...Well, I can actively line up and aim the big swing which makes it far easier to do with that particular system. That said I was always aware the big swings should be saved and, at least what I recall in some older titles, I used to do the old 'Hit-and-run' to keep safe. Wasn't flashy, but it got the job done well enough for the times I used it. But recently I began to try to figure it out on my favorite training dummy (Great Jagras, Master Rank).

Would you say that cycling through the swings (Backswing, then sideswipe, rinse and repeat) with a charge attack during flinches or big openings be the right call to just do as much damage and attacks as quickly as possible when I can't line up a big shot? Do you normally block to avoid damage or is my idea to just evade window out of trouble a far better call?

Any tips or pointers, for myself and others, would be appreciated. I have learned just about every other weapon but the GS and the HBG are particularly hard to get into the mindset of.

Today Timi/Capcon lunch monster hunter:Outlanders for mobile and they don’t have entirely all of Asia country except Japan.Did they think they didn’t need Asia for their game?Did the japan think they are top of the Asia and look down on other Asia countries? So they don’t add any of Asia countries except Japan.Even all of other countries from other continents have added in the game.

Got to be apart of the first ever MH USA orchestra performance in LA early 2026.

So happy I get to be apart of the 2027 performance as well!

Hopefully there’s a lot of Texan hunters out there!

Outlanders Even ignoring the gacha aspect or the use of AI in marketing I find it hard to be excited for a game that is mostly just the World roster again (note this isn't a complete list but gives an idea of what most of the roster is)

Discussion I don't think this game is gonna last. Why?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I haven't even played it yet. But from my experience with timi/tencent and its games, they pour egregious amount of money for the initial development since they can afford it, then near zero investment in maintaining or advertising the game.

This led to a lot of their games shutting down after a while. Including apex mobile, and pokemon unite. Pokemon unite is already a bad precedent. The most famous and profitable ip in the world and it's about to be EoS next year. Even codm, probably one of their most profitable games is an unoptimised, buggy, and full of slop mess.

They didn't even try to save those EoS games. Not even another advertisement drive or a massive update. They just keep on throwing games into the wall in hopes that one will stick.

MHFU My god...I get it now...

Post image
2.5k Upvotes

I started my monster hunter journey in Rise when it came out. It was really fun and I will always love my insect glave. After getting bored though I figured I would try a different MH title but this time from the older generations because all I hear about them is how they just "felt" better to play. I picked up MHFU aaaand immediately put it down. I didn't get why people loved it so much. It was "clunky" and for some reason unbelievably hard. So then I tried MHGU for switch. It was fun...but it just felt...idk, not as grand as everyone painted it out to be.

I've gotten a major hankering recently to play old school games in general (Seriously, f*ck modern Sony and Nintendo buisness practices) and decided to give FU another try and idk man, something just clicked. Please, allow me to be the fifty eight thousandth person to say this but, THIS GAME IS PEAK. The deliberate and "just enough" simplicity of combat, the feeling of accomplishment after hunts (even in the early game), the scale of the world, and the deliberate pacing choices in the village (the Pokke farm and inventory managment) strike such a balance and honestly provide an experience newer gen games don't. Hell even the difficulty isn't BAD, it's just demanding, which just adds to the feeling of accomplishment. Idk man, I just love this game so far and am sad that I slept on it for so many years.

Is there anyone still playing this game? Or am I too late to the party :(

Rise Is it necessary to learn more than one weapon? Or is it better to marry just one?

I'm very new to these games, I tried World before, but I didn't get very far, and I understand that every game is different

Right now, I only have two stars in Rise...

So I got curious. So... Asking this assuming that each weapon deals a different type of damage. I use Long Sword, but I've noticed that certain parts of some monsters take less damage, yet they are breakable. So... do hammers or weapons like that break them more easily? And... is that actually useful, or is it 100% optional, and do you consider it just as difficult?

Also, do weapons like the Long Sword deal more damage to unprotected enemies, or do hammer-type weapons still deal more damage overall?

Imagine my surprise when I go to turn off my phone for the night and I see 'MHOutlanders' staring me in the face. Guess I'm not sleeping after all.

Edit: So the only information I had about this game is the one trailer from the beginning, I was not aware it was a gatcha game but I am still going to try it out anyway because I like MH. Guess being offline and touching grass does pay off lol.
