I’m a first time ta and I normally end class pretty early because participation is literally in the gutter. My supervisor wants us to make time for a lot of discussion but literally no one puts their hand up and idk what to do… ive tried multiple different ways to participate and they aren’t much better…i feel so bad for ending early but i don’t have the expertise to turn it into a full on lecture. would you guys be pissed if your ta ends early a lot (~20 mins early on 50 min tut)

I know this subreddit has seen a million mental health rants but my next therapy appointment is in a few weeks and i have nobody else to talk to so here we are. I'm in my 3rd year and honestly I dont think I can do this anymore. I have no life outside of school cause I have one close friend who doesn't even go to mac and I can't rely on my gpa anymore cause I've been fucking things up all year. I have no job and my parents pay for everything for me so I can't even drop out and pay them back because where the hell am I getting over 35k from. I'm tired and so fucking over everything but I can't do anything about it so I'm just stuck in an endless loop of losing my mind right when I think I'm getting better and at this rate I won't even be able to finish this semester. I don't even know if I'm writing this post cause I need advice or someone to tell me to suck it up or what but I'm sick of keeping all this shit in my head

Wth is wrong with this school and its horrible parking management. I drove today because I was running behind, I ran behind even MORE looking for parking. The stadium is empty and it says it’s full. Be actually so fr. Trying to force people to get the parking pass, but I don’t and can’t drive everyday.

I need a friend group. I’m in my second year and I spend my days alone. I know that others have a select group of people that they can go on campus with. I would love to have that but I go everywhere by myself. It seems like everyone’s already found their groups and there’s nowhere for me to fit in. How could I develop close friendships if everyone’s always found their people? I do have some friends but they’re all individual friends and they’re not the type to go out. What’s worse is that I do have roommates but we barely even talk or banter. I know someone who is best friends with ALL of their roommates and I can’t imagine the fun they must be having. I want to have fun and make those memories. Silly memories sweet memories everything in between. I mean, there’s no one really I can like hit up on a random Tuesday and just hang out. At the same time, I want those deep bonds and a support system to fall back on. I want to make the best of my youth but I feel like I’m just wasting it and time is running out. I’m wondering if anyone else is feeling the same way. Pls lmk how can I find myself one of those quintessential university friend groups that actually does stuff together lol

not tryna b a pick me but i got a 82 in bio 1m03 and 75 in chem 1a03, i thought i did better in bio but whatever

just wanna ask if is it 12able in these 2 courses since im so used to 90s in high school and now seeing 70s and 80s in uni is rlly discouraging

i did a lot of past practice tests for both courses, like 10 times or so for the avenue chem quiz and grind a lot of bio mcq, but somehow i still made rlly stupid mistakes.

if you experienced this before how would u tackle it and what are your study tips? i just dont want to always grind and stress myself out just to get a high gpa and miss out on social life :(

Dr. Balas quizzes are insane. 1 hour is not enough time, this quiz was slightly easier than the last but could not get through it in an hour. He also picked the silliest things to ask, left out everything that actually felt useful and important to study other than bayes theorem. Terrified for the midterm. Does it get better 🫩

I have my midterm with her on Friday, and I have seen everywhere that she's an impossible tester. Does anyone have any advice on how to study for her exams specifically? Usually, I wouldn't be too worried, but it's worth 40%. It seems she wants us to basically memorize all the results from her studies, but I am not sure what else she wants. I also have another exam this week, so I'm trying to be as efficient as possible 😭. Did anyone have a good experience with her testing?

I’m bouncing around the idea of applying for a second degree in engineering. I have always had a passion for coding, so I want to pursue software engineering. It’s a late switch, but better late than never plus my current arrangement is stable so I can just as well not.

My high school grades weren’t spectacular:
Top 6 is 88%, and all requirements met (requirements are also in the top 6)

My undergrad is a little better:
Bachelor of Medical Sciences, 3.9 gpa, 11.23 on Mac scale (I think), ~89% average

I’m not familiar with the second degree applicants process at all - if my high school grades are whats most important, its pretty wraps since the average seems to be 92+ here.
