this place sells good sibu sarawak dishes, but the attitude of the boss really cannot, initially we tried to order sarawak laksa and red wine chicken noodle, boss say both sold out, then tried to order other noodles, then he said this dish need wait super long cause currently kitchen has more than 10 plates to be cooked, of course I ask how long, he said you count yourself lor, one plate avg 5 minutes. so we were quite surprise how he talk to us like that, so we end up ordering the most basic sibu kampua, also took him 45 minutes to served us… we even heard he argue with other customer due to long waiting
I think that’s the only shop in Kepong sells this, just google, also found out the owner will argue with his review on Google 👀

Tried 3 shiopans today from kenny hills rm6.35, sol levante rm3.80 and ferment rm9.
Todays experience reinforced my belief of expensive does not guarantee taste to our liking.
Verdict: kenny hills > sol levante > ferment(seriously the worst ive had so far)
Ive always wanted to try shiobee but their location is not convenient for me. When i decided to go, they closed for renovation or something. Now i herd they set up a booth at lot10 but after circling that area 5+ rounds i still cant find them. Its like im fated to not be able to have their buns.

Hey folks, I am a huge fan of Sin Tai Hing's Taste-Me Chili Padi 辣使你 sauce. But sadly it appears that the product has been discontinued (or at least impossible to find at grocery shelves).
So right now, I am hoping if anyone would be willing to share their best chili padi sauce recommendation? (preferably not sweet)
(P/S: to those who had tried 辣使你, what is your alternative?)

The ultimate bun of Malaysia. The amount of times this aroma tempted me as I take the escalator up from the platform of KLCC station back in the day.

Tried this new spot for dinner opened by a buddy.
They are selling thai beef hotpot (RM19.80) concept from Thailand. (Reminds me of Heng Chun Seng in BKK)
Taste wise:
Super beefy and kaw beef broth
Beef innards are cooked perfectly (Tripe, Tendon, Intestine)
And the Angus Brisket to die for. Fatty juicy succulent.
More surprisingly is the Thai iced tea (RM7) . They have a slushie as well, but opted to try the original way with just Ice. Taste so different compared to those from ChaTraMue and roadside stalls. It had a floral hint to it which caught me off guard in a good way.
Only downsides is the seating outside abit hot la. Not sure when they will add fans there, cause I felt this dish best enjoyed al fresco.
They had Angus Shabu-shabu for RM10 a plate. No complaints here, milky beefy real deal angus beef.
If you guys have checked it out, share some review here. I can feedback to my friend.

Five-star reviews are everywhere now. In 2017, 41% of café reviews around KL gave 5 stars. This year it's 82%.
Even at cafés with reviews going back before 2019, it's 79%. So a high star score tells me less than it used to.
So I pulled 1,469,975 Google reviews of 9,159 cafés around the Klang Valley and kept only people who have written 50 or more Google reviews.
I call them picky reviewers. Code did the counting and AI read what they praise.
What I found:
- People with one review give 5 stars 83% of the time. People with 50 to 199 reviews, 55%. With 200 or more, 44%.
- Their favourite café in each of 17 areas is in the images. The top three are DINES COFFEE in KLCC and The 28 in Cheras (both 4.96), then BlackyCoffee & Roasters in Seri Kembangan (4.89).
- 62 of the 212 cafés rated 4.8 or more on Google score under 4.5 with picky reviewers.
- Picky reviewers praise different things. In 5-star reviews, 47% of theirs praise the coffee, against 35% from people with under 10 reviews. The staff: 29% against 46%.
- Room 203 tops two areas with two different outlets, Publika and TTDI. Picky reviewers at both praise its RM5 coffee.
How I did it: every Google review I could get for each café, pulled to 17 October 2026. A café is ranked only with 30 or more reviews from picky reviewers. Big chains, places Google lists as bars and cafés with no review in the last 30 days are left out. Areas are Google's own area names. AI compared 1,400 five-star reviews in a fixed sample drawn before the full-history pull to see what these groups praise, and each top café's reviews to say what it's praised for. Reviews show what people wrote, not why, and small gaps between cafés are noise.
Which café did it miss in your area?
