EE mobile users from the UK

• Upvotes

Looking for someone to do me a huge favor. I’m in the USA and play video games. They are giving away a free reward to EE users in the UK only and I really want it. All you have to do is text the word “CODMW4” to the number 150 and they should send a code within a couple days. I just need someone to send me a code that they send to you! Pleaseeee

Nicki Minaj? Cannot tell what is real and what is AI. HELP

• Upvotes

I am having such a hard time figuring out what is real and was is AI content around this Nicki Minaj running for office stunt. Can anyone shed some light on this or even give me some background to kick start my online deep dive. I feel so silly asking this, but literally every other comment around this has some kind of AI content tag.

Also this is so dystopian.

How did you lose a friend, and how did you cope with it?

• Upvotes

I'm usually affable and friendly, and I cherish close friends as much as I can. But there have been times I had to cut someone off or reduce effort towards the friendship, and I feel terrible after. Care to share your experiences?

Life Stories Is it better to bottle it all up and say at a time when you get really triggered or is it better to say it the moment you feel irritated?

I feel like I have problem as I am not good with confronting people. I tend to ignore things or just let them slide until one day i have a fight or argument with a person and then bring out everything what they did in the past. I don't know what to do. I was talking to a guy and then after 2 months we had this full argument over a week about how he doesn't have for time for me in they way I wanted. I also brought up things from the past to which he got triggered at and then we eventually stopped talking. Any opinions or thoughts on this are welcome.

Movies & Shows I just watched Pet Sematery for the first time

I liked the story. Horrible turn of events. I don’t understand why Jud would take Luis to go bury the cat in the Indian burial grounds if he never even asked. And Luis made many unsmart decisions, not sure what I would have done under the same circumstance, but still 😭 and lastly I just felt horrible for the daughter. She knew things were going wrong the whole film and now she’s left to deal with the trauma her father caused.

Life Stories A guy claimed I stole her friend (girl) to be my lover

I entered a new space to learn a skill and I met a beautiful girl in the same space, after 3 weeks I decided to make my move and to my surprise I did not struggle. She was in it too, so from them we were a "thing". Now the guy friend to the girl used to sit together, all day making jokes to her .He would take her home, buy her lunch and good thing but did make any move or give any hints that He wanted a connection with her. After some time He confess he liked the girl and that I snatched her away from him.I merely listened because If you want something you have to go for it and thats what I did

Just Chatting Gingers get a name. What do we call everyone else?

My daughter has auburn hair and a couple of redhead friends, and at school they get called gingers constantly. It's all in fun, nobody's being mean about it, and honestly they kind of own it at this point.

So at dinner we got thinking. Gingers have a name. Why doesn't everyone else? It should be like Muggles in Harry Potter, a word for the plain, regular folks.

We came up with “nutmegs” and “unspiced” but I was thinking that the internet could come up with some fun ones. What’ve you got?

Just Chatting How many people(adults) here brute force mental math like I do?

This is gonna sound really fucking stupid for most people but I've never really bothered with times table memorization, I know it but only up to a certain magnitude, well below what I'd consider the average.

Everytime I wanna add, subtract, multiply, divide, whatever, I just... count really fucking fast in my head.

Sometimes I'd do this thing where I visualize dots, and then start counting them like fuckin apples on a kindergarten textbook.

I also feel like it needs to be said that I graduated in a STEM field.

Do people not know that women have peach fuzz

I never shave because I dont care.

Men ask me a lot how I look or to send picture, and when I finally decide to its like they get scared or confused.

Going from interested in getting to know you to either blocking and no longer interested.

Women I meet, same thing. People are very picky when looking for “friends” they have to find you attractive. Up to their beauty standards.

I think im way too nice. And I may look androgynous so that probably plays a part. Could also be hyperpigmentation.

Thoughts & Ideas I have dead wife video syndrome of myself.

I made a couple of cute videos of me, and when i look at them I simply think how sad it is she’s (me) never okay and suffer so much. What a pity it is that her life is as painful as it is for her, but she still manages to look pretty and happy.

And i get this suicid** ideation kinda feeling when you imagine how my life will be looked at by my peers when i’m already gone, and they’ll feel sorry for me.

I don’t plan on kms btw. but i do feel like i will die young and this will have been a sad example of what life could look like

Just Chatting What is the problem you are having everyday

Personally, one of the biggest challenges I face is that I have ADHD. When I’m working, I tend to swing between two extremes. Sometimes I hyperfocus so deeply that I lose track of time and forget to take breaks. Other times I get distracted very easily, jumping from one thing to another and struggling to finish what I started. Because of this, staying consistent and managing my time can be really difficult.

AI and Human Emotion

So I had this wild thought a few weeks ago and I still struggle to articulate it but I thought I'd share and would like to know other peoples thoughts. I'm no scientist so I'm going to dumbify my explanation so don't expect everything to be accurate. Take it with a grain of salt. So basically, AI is a computer. If you ask people and AI like ChatGPT or Grok, etc. questions like - Can AI ever have human emotion/feelings? Can AI ever have a brain and think for itself like a human? etc. The AI will say that is not possible and we are just a computer that's programmed a type of way.. (Now here's my point) BUT- For example, if an AI robot was PROGRAMMED to have human emotion and act it out the way humans would- (I know it doesn't "Actually" have feelings and is just programmed) - And it acted based on its literal countless data on human emotion. Doesn't it basically have human emotion? Like if you were to belittle an AI right now the response would be computer like and it would not care. Going back to my point, If a human form robot with AI programming was told to have human emotion and act upon it. It basically has human emotion even though it doesnt. Idk if you guys know what I'm saying. But lets say you hit the bot and call it a name, if it's designed to act like a human, what if it gets up, calls you a name and shoves you? What if you belittle the programmed AI bot and it starts crying? What if you act excited to see an AI bot and shake its hand and it asks you to come over for dinner and then cooks you dinner later? IDK if this makes any sense but yeah. Kind of mind boggling to me because although it wouldn't LITERALLY have human emotion, if it was programmed to have it and act like it, it could be dangerous and that's kind of scary.

Just Chatting Do most people talk to their plants or is that just me?

I noticed last week I was giving my little fern a pep talk before leaving the house, like it would somehow hear me and stay hydrated while I was gone. It felt completely normal until I said it out loud to a friend and they looked at me like I had lost it. Now I cannot stop wondering whether everyone does little things like that when nobody is watching. Maybe it is just an odd habit, or maybe most of us do it and never mention it because it sounds silly. Either way, I would love to know if anyone else catches themselves doing something surprisingly personal with an object or a pet and only realizes later how odd it might seem to others.

Questions What's the funniest hat you own?

I got a pizza-shaped plushie hat (completely circular with a crust) at a theme park recently for only $15! I wear it only when I want to embarrass my friends (and will wear it at Halloween this weekend), but it's still pretty funny to have around.

Pets & Animals It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me 👋

Does anyone else ever want to say “I'd honestly rather stay home with my dog” when someone invites you somewhere... but you know that sounds kind of mean?

So instead, you end up inventing increasingly elaborate excuses just to avoid saying you'd rather be at home. It's hard to keep track of this exciting life I'm telling people I have, just to avoid having an exciting life 😂. Tell me I'm not the only one!

Just Chatting random skill I learned years ago that has never come up once

I once spent a whole month practicing how to tie different kinds of decorative knots, like the ones sailors used to use on old ropes. I got pretty good at it too, could do them in my sleep. Since then the skill has sat completely unused. I do not sail, I do not camp with rope, and none of my friends have ever asked me to decorate a gift with fancy string. Still, every now and then I catch myself wanting to show someone just because the muscle memory is still there.

Thoughts & Ideas If You Have to Convince Yourself He Likes You, Read This

Ladies 😭😂

If I have to keep guessing whether you actually want me, I’m probably going to lose interest before anything even starts.

I’m not saying a man has to chase you around the world or beg for your attention. But please, there has to be SOME effort. Some initiative. Some indication that you’re not just passing time with me.

Because why am I catching feelings for someone who’s acting like he’s still deciding whether he even likes me? 😭
At some point, you have to stop making excuses for a man who isn’t showing up the way you want him to.

Friend zone him, sis. 😂

But seriously, what’s the difference between a man who’s taking his time and one who’s just keeping you around?
