Happy National Black Cat Day
I just want you to look at my cat really. Look at his adorable little massive face. His name is Thor, he's my precious baby, and he's an asshole.
Happy National Black Cat Day!

Wahey, it's late, it's Tuesday night what's going on? Why are you still up? Being the family taxi driver? Too much cheese before bed?
Come on in for a chat.

Morning all. What TV shows and/or movies have you been watching this week? Have you enjoyed them? Come in and tell us all about it.

Clearly the water people are going to ignore anything we had to say, but I got to eat biscuits and sit in a church hall with that old smell that instantly reminded me of being a cub scout and doing gang shows in the '80s.
Can recommend. Keep an eye on your emails for invites to do that sort of thing; I've had a couple of invites before but ignored them 'cos I didn't realise you got paid.

I bought a Feast bar today expecting my all chocolate ice cream and instead got this hazelnut vanilla garbage. Why change something that was perfect??
And yes I know I should have looked at the cover before buying and be paying attention to changes yada yada but I was just going on muscle memory and impulse.
I just wanted frozen chocolate on a rainy day, doesn't feel like a lot to ask for ☹️

Did they ever go away or have they been hiding in plain sight?

My dad used to play me One Way when I was a kid a bunch - brilliantly catchy anthem with a fantastic message - but I never delved further into their discography than that until recently and man am I glad I did
I love their angry/protest-y songs like Hope Street and Exodus, I love their bouncy fun tunes like The Riverflow and Forgotten Ground, their sad/wistful tunes like The Boatman and Maid of the River, and Elation is up there as one of the most beautiful song I've ever heard
I love how contrasting Mark Chadwick and Simon Friend's voices are, Mark is clear and melodic and Simon is gruff, raw and homely
Just a really special and I feel overlooked band, I've tried to find discussions of them on Reddit and there's like none (probably because of the overwhelming amount of Americans lol) so this seemed like a nice place to get some chat and appreciation for them going

Was in the middle lane here driving to work, this big old beast came down as I was driving by, the softer branches landed on my car (thankfully, just very scratched up) just before the whole thing landed in the road. I’m massively shaken up by this but then also at the same time can’t get rid of the feeling that I’m being dramatic

In primary school. My sister in law just reminded me of it and I haven’t thought of it in years. Just why? It was translucent, shiny and in every way possible, the opposite of what you want in toilet paper.

…. and I wanted to share it with you lot, because I think this is an idea worth carrying with you. It might be just right for your needs.
First up, none of the “sorry about your loss” nonsense. An old chap has died. 95. It’s to be expected. We loved him, we still do, just because he’s not here doesn’t change that.
It was a nice service, and we all learned things about him that enriched our memories.
Pub. Nice. Tea, cakes, scones and sandwiches. You know the drill. And eventually it’s breaking up, and leaving time is upon us.
On the table behind the buffet was the family only flowers because they didn’t just want to leave it for the crematorium compost heap. So they decorated the table with it. But now what? You could get it dried or bits of it maybe, but it’s huge.
Then, one of the daughters decided to start taking it apart and making little posies. Some of the older ladies joined in. The pub clocked it and brought out some napkins and strips of foil, and before long there’s just a long piece of holey oasis on a tray and dozens of little posies. They distributed them to everyone who wanted one, and everyone understood. Take some flowers home from their Dad. To remember him well for a few days.
From a practical point of view too, sensible, no one person has to just take a big thing home and miserably watch it wilt before binning it.
But what a lovely idea. I’m keeping that, and taking it with me to funerals from now on. It won’t always be the right thing, but I do believe that sometimes it will be. It’s going in to my list of wishes aswell. That my flowers should be broken up and distributed. I will rest a mite easier knowing they weren’t just left to wilt, dry and compost.
Like my flowers? Go on, take some home. It’s not as if I need them. I’d rather they were enjoyed and not wasted at the end of my day.

I’ve been taking stock of all my belongings in prep for a future move and realised that the biggest category that gives me the most PITA are my clothes, shoes, bags, hats etc. I’ve accumulated so many damn things over the last 18 years and I don’t think I’m even a shopaholic or anything. Just looking at my wardrobe and drawers and thinking about going through it to downsize makes me want to bury my head in the sand. I have 29 pairs of freaking shoes!!
Part of me wants to just put it all in a bag and drop it in a fabric recycling bin, but most of my clothes are nice branded stuff that are in great condition and could make a decent amount of money if sold on Vinted or eBay. It’s just such a massive pain in the arse.
Am I alone with this and need a reality check? How do you all clear out your closets?

I currently live in Bradford. There's a 620 bus in two different stances. Today I go to the usual stance, and board the bus. Ended up going right back to the station after the stops. Do I learn my lesson? No. I board it again thinking I missed my stop. Same thing happens, so I ask the travel advice desk and board the right bus. I hope some of you can find some humour in my horrible bus ride lol.
Edit: forgot to mention that the update was posted on Sunday.

I have 2 pumpkins to carve this week. I usually get all of the seeds, rinse them, spread them on a baking sheet, sprinkle with salt, and bake until brown. They’re very tasty, crunchy, and moreish! A little heavy on the jaw after a few chews though.
I’m after some advice/suggestions to change it up a bit this year. I’m planning on doing a few batches of different flavours. I have some truffle dust that I’m obsessed with at the moment, so will definitely be trying that. Any other ideas?
Also, does anyone prepare them differently? Let them soak for a bit before roasting? Par boil them?
Looking forward to some tasty snacks this Halloween! TIA

I've had the most "Monday" Monday you could ever possibly have.
No power due to the storm this morning.
Got signed off work for a month on Friday due to stress at work.
I ran out of teabags and live 20 minutes drive from the nearest shop.
At the end of the day, my manager emailed to check in on my well being, and also let me know that I'm getting made redundant.
I signed a lease on a flat 3 weeks ago and just moved in.
My dog just threw up on the carpet.
Someone please tell me all the good in their Monday to share it out a bit!!!!!!

Tim runs a skydiving school. His wife is already pregnant. He released all the equity from his house sale, a grand amount of £30k. They hope for a home birth, in the house that doesn’t exist.
