My closest friend has been avoiding me for a while but become unusually close to my boyfriend, and now I’m afraid to distance myself because she knows all my secrets. What would you do?

• Upvotes

I have a close female friend whom I genuinely trusted like a sister. I don’t have a big support system where I live, so she became one of the few people I could confide in.

She knows practically everything about my relationship, my insecurities, my personal struggles, and things I’ve never shared with anyone else. I’ve always been very open and vulnerable with her, although looking back, I realize she rarely shared much about her own life. I know it was a mistake.

Recently, I discovered that she and my boyfriend had become much closer than I realized.
They are texting daily, sending each other things on social media, and independently arranging meetups and social plans, calling him at 3am on a night out.

At the same time I was repeatedly reaching out to her and trying to make plans and see her, but she never replied nor met me, while she is in touch daily with my bf and going out with him and his friends.

I met her on a night out and she kept asking me why my bf didn’t invite me to events where everyone else was invited and repeated a rather dismissive comment my boyfriend had supposedly made about me on a night out. I dismissed her comment and she asked me if I hated my bf, which made me think she was fishing for drama (I don’t have proof though, that’s my feeling).

What confuses me is that she was comfortable sharing things that made my boyfriend look bad, yet never acknowledged how close they’d become themselves, texting everyday, sharing videos (not of sexual natures just parties), making plans where I am not involved.

The problem is I was in a very dark spot last year and had nobody in the country I live in, no family nor friends support, got laid off and broke up with my ex of 8 years. So i treated her like a friend and someone to talk to but I disclosed too much.

She knows an enormous amount about my private life, including sensitive things I’ve told her about my relationship (just at the start before we became official but it wasn’t a long time ago).

I’m afraid that she will start discussing everything I’ve told her with my boyfriend or our mutual social circle, especially because they drink a lot and when she’s drunk she changes personality, she becomes aggressive and confrontational and starts overhearing.

I want to drop her completely and disappear from the picture, I’m also dropping my bf because he had been lying about meeting his best friend while he was actually making plans with my “bf” and kept bringing her up in every conversation with me or his friends on the phone as if she was the woman on earth.

However I’m scared that she will share my personal stuff to make fun of me, I don’t know how to handle this.

I want to text my old supervisor. I worked with him for over 3 years and about 10 months ago I left for another department kn the same company. He sent me a text on my first day at the new department. I messaged him once or twice via teams. About 4 months ago I left the company with short notice. One of the people on my old sups team messaged me that day so I replied and told him I was leaving. I know my old supervisor heard I left. I was hoping for him to text me. He didn't. It's been 4 months and I miss him. But I think he should've reached out if he cared. Should I reach out to him or just let it go?

my partner keeps answering texts mid-conversation and it's starting to feel weird

• Upvotes

for the last few weeks my partner has been replying to messages right in the middle of us talking. it's usually just quick stuff like confirming plans or saying they saw something, but it happens a few times a night. i keep pausing because i think they might be done, then they look back up and say "sorry, go ahead." at first i brushed it off, but lately it feels like our conversations are constantly getting interrupted. i do not want to start an argument over something that might be harmless, but i also do not want to keep feeling like the phone is the priority. i have not brought it up yet because i am not sure if i am making too big a deal out of it or if i should just mention it casually. any thoughts on whether this is something worth saying something about?

Which should I go to?

• Upvotes

So I work at a relatively small family owned company. I have worked here for 11 years.

Frank (fake name) started the company with his dad in the 1930's. His son Roger (fake name) now runs the company. Roger's son Ted (fake name and also a good friend also works at the company. Frank just recently passed.

Franks funeral is the same day as my 6 y.o. sons first basketball game. It is hard to tell my son I would miss his game.

So i am asking for advice as to which to go to. Thank you.

My teacher went from thinking I was smart to constantly ragebaiting me after I got a bad grade

• Upvotes

I'm a very quiet student. I barely speak in class never volunteer answers and almost never ask questions. During the first semester I got a really good grade on a practical test. Before that, my teacher didn't particularly notice me, but after that test he started seeing me differently. He even mentioned me positively to another group because of my grade.

During the second semester, he started paying more attention to me. He would encourage me to speak, check whether I was doing my work, and sometimes call on me to answer questions. I got the impression that he thought I was one of those students who are secretly smart but too quiet to show it.

The problem is that my second semester grade ended up being terrible. I think he was disappointed because he had higher expectations of me.

After that, his behaviour toward me changed a little. He started teasing me and making sarcastic comments

I remember i was seating with my friend during one of his classes he told me to move to the front then he made a comment about how you can't put two lazy students together because they'll make each other worse he basically implied that a good student wouldn't sit with a bad student.

On the last day of his class, I was sitting with her and we were talking. He called her to the board, and she struggled with the exercise. Everyone was shouting answers and trying to help her he started making comments about whether we were talking about series and whether a series was more important than the lesson. We weren't even talking about series, so I was furious.

Then he turned to me and asked why I wasn't helping my friend whether I only talked to her about useless things.

I was so annoyed. He was smirking while making these comments, and whenever he ragebaits me. I usually give him an annoyed look because I'm quiet, but I'm not immune to being irritated.

I'm not in his regular class anymore, but I still attend his extra study sessions. I usually sit in the front. He still notices me quite a lot recently I sat somewhere else, and he asked why I was sitting there when I was usually beside him. Another time, he noticed I was doing the exercise while everyone else was talking and called my name so I could give the answer to the class.

I genuinely like him as a teacher. I think he cares about his students' futures

But I keep thinking about last year. Part of me feels like he genuinely believed I was smart, and then I disappointed him. I also wonder whether his teasing was his way of pushing me because he thought I was capable of more.

I know I'm probably overanalysing some interactions, but the change in how he treated me has stayed in my mind.

Do I break up with him

• Upvotes

Me (F18) and my boyfriend (M18) have been together for almost 3 years. I love him so much and don’t know what i would do without him. I recently found out that he was interested in his cross country coach (F22), around our 1 year mark. For context he would always be in her office and would text her, which i told him constantly made me uncomfortable. I found out about this because he had just texted her again a few weeks ago. We graduated and she is no longer his coach.

So my question is how do i confront this? I don’t think it’s worth breaking up ove, but imo it was emotional cheating. Thank you in advance for any tips! 🙏

Wanting to make friends

• Upvotes

I’m a 23 year old female. I’m a married college student with no kids and I want to make friends. I live in salt lake county I’m into reading, cozy video games, painting, bedazzling, coloring. I love coffee, shopping (especially thrifting), and I’m down for pretty much everything. Any advice on how to make some friends?

hii peeps, i hope you people are having a nice day, so I just had a thought on something: whenever anyone texts me, i feel like whatever they are saying to me is a lie. i never dated anyone and thought I would try dating, but whenever I talk to people online, I just avoid them and block them so quickly, and i think building a connection in real life would be my thing, but in real life I'm a super awkward and introverted person

Bought house over 3 years ago, still haven’t moved in

• Upvotes

This is probably a stupid thing to ask advice about but it has now been over a year and I still haven’t figured out what I should do. To start I am a 34 year old single woman, and I am currently living with my parents. I bought a fixer upper about 15 minutes away from my parents over three years ago. I put blood, sweat and tears into the house. It took two years of labor from my dad and myself and we finally finished it the summer of 2025.

That summer my dog died, I started have regular anaphylactic reactions to something unknown and fell into a deep depression. Upped my meds, did Transcranial magnetic stimulation, did multiple months of IV ketamine to treat my treatment resistant depression. I still struggle with depression and anxiety, but it is not as severe as it was 8 months ago. I am still having health issues. But I am taking allergy injections to lessen the severity.

The house has been done for over a year now, and I still have not moved in. I go up to get the mail, and mow the grass, thats about it. The longer I stay away from the house the more I do not want to be there. At the same time, I don’t want to be a single woman living with my parents for the rest of my life. The house does have a lot of issues still. Will likely need a new roof and furnace in the next few years, that’s also been really stressful to think about. I do often think I made a huge mistake with the home. It’s in a very good area. Safe, good schools, lower taxes, and walkable. That’s what originally drew me to the house, but i often think the problems outweigh the benefits.

So my options are to keep the house as is. Stay at my parent, keep paying the bills and taking care of it, and continue to worry about what I should do. I could move in. I would likely be extremely uncomfortable, and wish I wasn’t there. I could sell it, stay with my parent, buy a storage unit for all my stuff (the house is fully furnished), and give up the idea of living independently and pursuing a family of my own. Or I could sell it move somewhere else (an apartment or another house, although it’s terrible time to buy and the options in my budget are limited) and try to pursue my goals. But like living at my current house, I would likely be very uncomfortable living in another home or apartment. I am really not sure what to do, as all the options sounds bad to me right now. Please be kind… I am already struggling enough.

Advice on a friendship

• Upvotes

I've been friends with someone for many years, but something happened recently that has made me question our friendship

To cut a long story short, they were in a relationship with someone who turned out to be a scammer. This person ended up causing significant damage to my home and disappeared, leaving me in a really terrible situation. Not only did it cause me a massive financial issue but also left me at the end of my rope.

I don't blame my friend for what the partner did, but I later discovered that they had found information about this person's previous fraud and realised they were using a false identity long before they ever got involved in the work at my property. They didn't tell me.

The whole experience was one of my lowest points.

I found out about my friend's prior knowledge some time later. I initially held off talking to them about it bc they were dealing with the breakup of the relationship, and I didn't feel it was the right time.

I did work up the courage to message them and explain that I was hurt. I told them that, had they told me it could have been avoided.

They didn't respond. After I reached out again to see if they were okay they basically said the situation was too stressful and they didn't want to discuss it.

I'm struggling with this. I understand that the situation may be difficult for them aswell, but I feel that my trust was broken, and now I'm being shut down when I'm trying to explain how this has affected me.

I'm considering giving them a few weeks to respond before sending one final message explaining how I feel and potentially ending the friendship.

I don't want to pressure someone into having a conversation they're not ready for, but I also don't think I should have to ignore something that has caused me so much hurt just to preserve a relationship.

I should also add that after this I've been thinking alot about the relationship. It has always been very one sided and I've come to realise that I have constantly put my feelings on the back burner for over 12 years.

I'm now realising that there have been multiple back handed comments made to me that I just sort of brushed over and only really thought about what was said when I was alone.

I feel I have made a lot of sacrifices, have lent a considerable amount of money to them which I have not yet had back, and listened to them rant to me about how I should divorce my husband bc she compared him to a (now ex) boyfriend who was love bombing her (they were only together 2 weeks). This then caused me to spiral a little bit and I feel like a terrible person for ever allowing someone to put those doubts in my mind about my partner.

I just need some advice. I feel like I'm going crazy and I don't know if I'm over reacting to this or if I should push for a conversation about it but I can't stop thinking about it.

How to making going outside and touching grass seem more fun?

• Upvotes

I used to go out so much when I was living in London and now that I am back home in my country going outside seems very boring to me. Like, doing my hobbies at home like drawing or playing games seems way more engaging to me and i just feel so lost and thoughtless when I go outside. That is the case unless I go out with my friends and most of my friends are busy these days. I would go out with family but I just feel like I have to pretend to be someone else around my family and that feels worse than doing stuff on my own.

Should i look into an activity I can do? because I just feel so bored and I need to get into something outdoor related. It does not help that I am in an esports team online so I have a reason to stay on my computer for something other than work.

Friend stinks really bad..

• Upvotes

This is kind of stupid compared to other posts on here, basically I have a friend whos also in the same class as me. But She kind of stinks, somedays its bad enough that everyone in class notices even people sitting a few seats away, which has made being around her hard. A few days ago while she was absent ive heard some our classmates talk bad about for because of It. I wanted to say something but didnt because Its true, me and another friend have tried giving hints which makes me wonder if I should just Say something directly, tomorrow we have a trip and we'll sit together but the thought of sitting for a few hours in train with the smell makes me nausious, especially since Its october and ive noticed its especially bad when she wears sweaters. Im afraid ill upset her but at the same time I feel Its cruel leaving her unaware.

How to stop feeling like I’m not good enough for my friend?

• Upvotes

To preface, I have a lot of anxiety driven by very negative childhood experiences in friendships and a very judgmental extended family that I was around a lot. I also suspect I may have high functioning undiagnosed adult autism, but I’m not 100% sure. I have had a lot of poor friends who would make me the joke of the group, and frequently leave me out of things and then make fun of me when I would ask why I wasn’t invited. Most of my earliest friendships were like this.

I have a friend I met about a year ago who took a lot of initiative despite me being very shy and reserved. He would reach out to me a lot, show genuine interest in my life, and would frequently compliment me and tell me that I was fun to hang out with. He’s extremely social and someone a lot of people like, and I really admired him and I was just so happy he would even want to be friends with me. We’ve gone on a number of trips together and he would ask me to hang out with him a good number of times (we see each other once a week at a shared hobby).

I have had a rough few months mentally, and while initially in the friendship I was scared to open up while he was telling me about a lot of his internal struggles, recently I began opening up because I felt myself becoming extremely scared of losing our friendship. Since he’s very social, I always assume he has better people to hang out with. He doesn’t always reply to my messages and I get very worried that he’s going to stop wanting to be my friend because he has so many better options. Sometimes he’ll talk about things he did with other friends, and they are things that I would enjoy doing too, and then I feel bad because I didn’t get invited and feel like maybe he doesn’t like me as much as other friends. I have brought some of this up to him and he always tells me he likes me and cares about me, and that sometimes it’s more of a logistics thing when inviting people (like proximity/time to drive rather than wanting to leave me out), but I have a lot of fear due to past friendships that I’m not enough.

I really care about this friendship and I don’t want to be too much or not fun enough to be worth hanging out with. He always tells me that I’m not a burden even when I’m talking about my issues, but I feel like I’m not good enough to be his friend. I always feel like none of my friends ever invite me to things if they have someone better, and I’m not sure if that’s the truth or my head, but it’s really hard to stop thinking that. I just want to feel like a priority sometimes, or to be someone as unforgettable as my friend where people miss me when I’m not around and want to have me around, but I’m not sure how to get to that point. I hate that my past experiences have done this to me

Awful Fear of Loss

• Upvotes

I (22F) am terribly afraid of losing my parents. They are 48 and 56 in great health, but this is killing me. I’m back home living with them and commuting to college, but I have the opportunity to go to my home country and see my family, friends, and boyfriend in December for the holidays. My parents don’t celebrate Christmas, but they have 2 weeks of vacation for Christmas and new years. I’ve spent the holidays without them maybe twice ever and recently too, so I don’t know why I’m so hesitant on leaving. It’s this awful fear of what things will look like next year and with time, and it’s holding me back from leaving. Is this rational?

My friend smells a little bad 😭

• Upvotes

When I'm at home with my boyfriend and we're close, he sometimes has a slightly unpleasant odor. I haven't been able to tell him about it because I love him and don't want to lose him. I've considered telling him, but I've hesitated. He's really nice to me.

We're having a great time, but the problem is the bad smell. Tell me what I should do without losing him or embarrassing him.😭

Advice on change room etiquette for men?

• Upvotes

I (f40) regularly take our young son to swimming lessons on a Saturday morning where the pool is packed with little kids doing their weekend swim lessons. It’s literally all families with kids ages 18months to 5/6 years old doing their swim lessons. our kid started swimming independently and then lately has requested to swim with dad (40M) a bit in the beginning so they have been having fun swimming and then my husband gets out and goes and showers and changes whilst the lesson happens. The other week he casually told me he has no issues walking naked from the shower to his clothes at the change room and that “all men do it”. This didn’t sit well with me mainly because there are little kids swarming around and would be in the change room. I think it’s inappropriate to be naked in front of, or potentially in front of little kids (strangers) and told him that. I told him to stop doing it. He accepted that and just got on with things like there wasn’t a big deal about it.

Is this normal behaviour for a man? I have no idea what goes on in men’s change rooms but this hasn’t sat well with me.

Edit: 1. we reside in Australia
2. Wouldn’t be a big deal for me if it was an adults gym like you do you bro and waltze around naked to your hearts content. My concern was it being in front of kids and if that’s appropriate or not?normal?
3. Removed the word ick as people took offense to this

Confused on where I stand moving forward with my life

• Upvotes

I am currently a 19 year old dude enlisted with the US stationed overseas (just a technician worker), I’m having trouble having hope for finding a relationship or even seeing it worth while anymore. When I first got out of Basic I broke up with my toxic ex girlfriend of 1 year and it wasn’t hard to move past her because I knew what I did was healthy for me and I have such a great life ahead of me but now it’s just so confusing being so alone and detached from relationships.
Every time I’ve had an interaction with somebody who seemed interested in me I self sabotaged it because I can’t imagine it working out, and I don’t know know why anybody would put themselves through a relationship with a military man. I imagine my future career will be filled with long hours and when I’m done with work my personal time will be put into my personal hobbies like writing, reading, going to the gym And especially cooking and baking. No sane woman will ever dedicate herself to me When I don’t want to dedicate it to her But I don’t want to die alone
What Do I Do

I (21F) think I'm being ghosted by my friend (21M) of 4 years

• Upvotes

Hi all. So I (21F) have been friends with this guy let’s call him Jake (21M) for about 4 years.

At the beginning of our friendship we clicked instantly due to our similar hobbies. When university started we were in the same program and both living in the dorms so we spent basically everyday, all day of our first year together. As the year went on between the both of us we started skipping classes and that continued on into our second year.

At the end of our second year we talking about getting an apartment together with my girlfriend (22F) who is also a close friend of his. We ended up not moving in with him due to some disagreements and he moved in with some other classmates in our program.

Last year he took a break from school and I switched programs. This meant I didn’t see him as often as before. This is when the ‘ghosting’ started.

Either myself or my girlfriend would call or text him asking to hang out and we would get one of these responses.

Call sent to voicemail

No response to text until hours later or the next day

No response at all

Response, but said he was busy with work or that he was seeing one of his other friends.

This pattern continued for months until around March/April when he ended up spending almost 2 weeks at our apartment hanging out and playing video games with us. That was the last time we hung out with him.

Since that time we have tried to reach out to make plans, or just to talk and see how he’s doing and are getting the same responses. We’ve been feeling really hurt by this because we consider him such a great friend and we’re worried we did something to hurt/upset him without knowing and that’s why he is avoiding us? We’ve been wanting to talk to him about the way we’ve been feeling and just looking for some reassurance and conversation, but if we do get to hang out with him we don’t want to ruin our first hang out in months by turning it into an uncomfortable conversation. It’s not reliable to reach him by phone and we don’t want to leave a lengthy text that may come off in the wrong tone or seem daunting to read.

That brings us to today. We have been worried about our friendship but not a crazy amount because last year from talk with other friends it seems like we weren’t the only people this was happening to. However, this morning my girlfriend received a Snapchat from a mutual friend (21M) and the snap was of Jake. So now we’re feeling really hurt. I’m just questioning whether he is just being nice and polite towards us when he says “I miss you too” and that the reason he keeps avoiding us is because he just doesn’t want to be friends with us, especially considering he was hanging out with other friends last night.

So reddit I need your advice. What do I do??? Do I reach out to him and tell him how I’m feeling? Do I continue to try and make plans even if I know it’s likely he won’t respond or say he’s busy? Or do I just let him go and stop everything all together?

I live in a controlling and toxic household, how can I get out?

• Upvotes

I’m going to try to make this quick but I live in a controlling and also toxic family and I don’t know how to escape. I’ve read a lot things about how to but I have a unique set of barriers.

Number 1: I live in a rural area and while I do love it here I can’t find any jobs. All of the jobs are too far away and that leads me to my second problem.

Number 2: I don’t have a drivers license or a car. I was taken to get my learners at one point but no one has made an effort for me to be able to get my drivers license. I’ve even been told that they don’t want me to drive because of how crazy drivers are. While that may be a genuine concern it just prohibits me from getting to any job.

Number 3: I do not have my GED yet. I wasn’t put in school for the longest time so this has slowed me down a lot with my progress but I have luckily been able to pass three of the tests. All I have is math now. I’m currently using an online curriculum that is getting funded by a college near me but that is another barrier for me.

Poor WiFi was an issue before but this year we got better WiFi so potential online jobs are a possibility but it’s still complicated for me.

Even when I was a teen I wanted to get a job because people my age do but I was told to finish school. Fair enough but I never got a chance to. But ever since my teens and now that I am in my 20s I have been wanting one but I have all these barriers.

Living here was out of my control as I’ve lived here my whole life. It’s beautiful here but hard to get a job.

When it comes to my license I am literally unable to get it without help because the DMV is 30+ miles away.

But with the GED that is more in my control and I have been working on it but it is just taking so long and I’m to the point I just can’t stay here anymore.
I’m not dealing with physical abuse but I am dealing with emotional and mental and there isn’t but so much more I can handle.

One day when these people were angry with me they said it was about time I get a job and so I did.
It was back in May I was able to find a seasonal job at a National Park.
This job checked so many boxes.
They didn’t need me to drive back and forth as I could have lived there while working there. My family has already stated that they will never ever drive me back and forth from work like they did for my stepbrother.
I didn’t need my GED to work there, only for a few select jobs.
I also didn’t need any experience.

I got this job but all I needed was my family to take me to get a drug screening because that was the only prerequisite.
But instead of my family being happy for me they basically just straight up bullied me, made fun of me and my potential job, picked on me. It was a lot to deal with and when it was all said and done they wanted to make up this random talk about how they want me to get my GED first for all of these reasons.
I know though that that wasn’t their original reason because their first reaction was to just make fun of me and create all these what if scenarios.

So my first job I was kept from doing and that one job could have helped me save up enough money to get a car.

Money is the literal key to get out of here but I don’t know how.

Any advice?

I'm sick of waiting for my partner, need advice.

• Upvotes

I (23m) and my partner (21m) decided to move in together. I've been talking about it for a while and kept asking their opinion on the matter. He seemed to want the same thing.

I'm getting to a point where I'm truly ready to move out of my parent's house. I've been scouting for places and have asked my parents for help. My father knows a guy who might have a few places available.

I told my partner about the availability and possible costs. Disclaimer: I don't make a lot of money (I'm in the process of trying to change jobs to earn more). He does. He makes at least twice as much as I do.

He's offered to help me with costs before, but for some reason, he refuses to pay even a little more rent for the time being. I'm not planning to take long to find a new job. Maybe two months at most.

I tried to talk more with him about it and even offered to pay an even share despite not being able to afford it. He's now backpaddeling. Saying he can't spare that kind of money and making up stuff about worrying about the future. He has never cared about the future before.

What should I do in this situation?

Advice Received How do I tell an employee they smell bad?

• Upvotes

I'm gonna be a little vague on the off chance this person uses reddit and can put two and two together. There's an employee who has a very noticeable body odor. We work in retail customer service. It's not that big of a space to work in so, the smell lingers and is strong. I don't wanna be mean to them and I don't want to hurt their feelings really. But it needs to be addressed and I have no idea how. Any advice?

ETA: it would seem the most common advice is to just tell this person they smell. And hope they take it the right way. I thank all who helped me

How do you handle someone who keeps pulling away when things are going well?

• Upvotes

I've been getting close to this girl for a while now, and honestly, I've fallen pretty hard for her.

We're not officially together, mostly because neither of us is really in a place where we're ready for a relationship. But there's definitely been something between us, and we've spent some really good time together.

The thing is, I've recently started noticing that she has some pretty strong avoidant tendencies. Things can be going really well between us, and then suddenly she'll pull away.

Recently, we had a small disagreement about something that made me uncomfortable. I expressed how I felt, I also acknowledged that we're not officially together and that I don't really have a say in what she does but I may not have said that.

Ever since then, she's been pretty distant. It's been almost two weeks, and although we still interact here and there on social media, the actual conversations have pretty much stopped. She doesn't really initiate anything anymore.

I'm trying to give her space because I genuinely care about her, and the last thing I want is to make her feel pressured. At the same time, it's difficult when you have strong feelings for someone and don't really know where you stand.

I guess my question is, for those who've dealt with someone who has avoidant tendencies, how do you navigate situations like this? Do you give them space and let them come around on their own, or is there a point where you should just accept the distance and move on?

I really like this girl, and I don't want to give up on something that could potentially be good, but I also don't want to keep putting myself in a position where I'm constantly wondering what's going on.

I decided to test my boyfriend's loyalty, so I created a fake account and started messaging him. At the very beginning, he actually brought up the account to me and directly asked if it was me. I denied it.

After that, he completely leaned into it. The flirting escalated quickly, and he ended up sending explicit nudes and even finished/came while we were messaging.

When I confronted him, he didn't block me. Instead, he stubbornly maintains that he knew it was me the entire time. He claims he only went through with sending the nudes and finishing because he was angry that I was testing him, and he "wanted to see how far I would go."

I am completely lost. If he knew it was me and saw that I was insecure enough to test him, why didn't he just reassure me instead of doing this? Is it possible he's telling the truth and did this out of pure anger, or is he just using this to gaslight me and cover up the fact that he got caught cheating?

Edit : Im getting lot of hate. I understand but you got to know we are in LDR and I catched him talking to girls before.

Edit 2 : I get it u guys. I just felt insecured as fuck. I love him. I hate that I did this.

How should I deal with annoying but fragile coworkers ?

• Upvotes

I hate to make myself out to be a victim, but I had a lot of mental and social difficulties during childhood, which made me really dislike confrontation and having to deal with people in general. Many of my biggest issues were linked to peers, as well as to my excessive sympathy and empathy for everyone.

However, at work, there are three coworkers with very imposing and loud personalities who also lack basic self-awareness and social skills. They are extremely needy as they constantly insert themselves into every conversation, including personal ones that don’t concern them, and constantly ask questions about everything they need to do. I’m not exaggerating literally everything, from how to start a machine to how to set tables. They also try to force their own incorrect methods, despite not understanding the explanations they keep asking for and rejecting them disrespectfully when they don't understand them.

They act entitled to help while constantly criticizing everything. At some point, I just feel like telling them to get lost, but they’re so fragile that they end up sulking all day like twelve-year-olds.

What should I do? I really don’t want to deal with them every day, either because of their personalities or their childish sulking.

How do I deal with a friend who keeps asking me for money?

• Upvotes

I have a really good friend who’s helped me out a lot in life, and I’ve helped him too. But lately he’s been asking me for money almost every day.
It’s usually not a huge amount, so I give it to him, but he only pays me back like 1 out of 3 times. I feel awkward asking him for it back because we’ve been friends for a long time and I don’t want to make things weird between us.
Last time he asked me for money, I told him I didn’t have any, even though I did. I just don’t feel like lending him money anymore when I know there’s a good chance I won’t get it back.
I feel kinda bad because he’s a good friend and he’s helped me before, but at the same time, I can’t keep doing this.
How would you guys handle this? Would you tell him directly or just keep saying you don’t have money?
