Text people assume i am a man and use it to my advantage

• Upvotes

i need to get this off of my chest. i am nonbinary but identify with masculinity and butch culture. i use any pronouns. i had total mastectomy (top surgery) due to tumors. i am on masculinizing hormones to make my voice deep while also giving me more body hair and masculine fat distribution and body proportions. 98% of the time people assume i am a man and i have started using it to my advantage. people take my opinions and what i have to say more seriously because they assume i am a man. i now use it to fight against misogyny, transphobia, racism, and ableism whenever i see it happen. this is what being a butch is for me.

Question Do you consider a woman's political orientation when dating?

I do. I'm admittedly a bit late to learning about politics because I grew up in an oppressive environment outside the USA where most people were apolitical. It wasn't until moving to Canada with my family and getting involved with a group of anarcho-socialist punks that I realized just how much politics affects us as human beings.

Now I only date leftists, the lefter the better. It's kind of frustrating at times dating in Canada because in the past a lot of people kept their political orientation private. They'd talk about issues, but not who they voted for. But this is changing and I'm glad it is.

Venting I'm like lesbian sisyphus

I don't even know where to begin guys I just keep fumbling the same women over and over and over and then they keep acting interested afterwards (miracle) and then I do it AGAIN

Within the past 8 hours I just stuttered multiple times in a row trying to offer to help my crush with something and it turned out she didnt even need the help and with the other talking stage this is the eightth time shes tried to hit on me (blatantly) over text and Ive not picked up on it until hours later. And managed to say the most unappealing thing ever in the meantime and shes just "oh i see" hello?

Also a cute girl asked me if I had any plans for the weekend and instead of saying yes or not confirmed yet I sighed and mumbled "i tried... everyone is busy..." with my head in my hands and she didnt know how to respond WHY DID I SAY THAT IT WASNT EVEN TRUE? WHY DID I SAY IT LIKE THAT

Anyway I dont even know why Im posting this I think I,just need to be witnessed in my shame and agony today. I keep wondering at what point I ick someone out so bad that it is now a bad idea for me to make a move.

I am an adult woman in her twenties and I feel like I should be more together than this 😵‍💫 no I do NOT want to be the useless lesbian stereotype

Police in Los Angeles found a woman’s body a few ago who has yet to be identified.

Gathering from her clothing, hair, and tattoos, she is likely a lesbian from the LA community.

We need help identifying this woman and bringing her home.

Question Anyone have fashion advice for a masc with bigger 🍒?

I don’t see much representation for curvy/chubby mascs online, and my gf in my eyes is a very hot masc already, but does have a hard time finding clothes to hide her 🍒 and it does cause slight body dysmorphia for her .. she’s tried sports bras and binders but unfortunately due to size, they suffocate her and cause discomfort :(( any chubby/curvy mascs on here able to give me some tips/advice I could share with her? 🖤🥹

Question Early dating stages with a depressive girl

Hi there,

I’ve[F23] been dating this girl[F22] during the last 2 months after meeting her on hinge. The first dates were amazing, I’ve rarely meet someone I get along with that well. But here it is…

She is suffering from depression and she entered an episode after a couple dates. She doesn’t respond for days and when she does, it’s in the middle of the night, she’s never responding properly to my texts(as if she’s talking to herself?) due to substances(I suspect), she’s planning last minute dates,… We tried to talk about it at the begging of her episode but things become more and more complicated.

We saw each other a couple times, even during her current episode. It was amazing, as always. But the last time, she came completely under substance…

I feel like I’m dating 2 persons at the same time : her depression and herself. I’m constantly so insecure and I never know if she acts the way she does because of her depression or because she’s not interested anymore. Not being able to communicate properly is nourishing this feeling even more.

I know I can’t save her from her own demons. I try my best to respect her needs and boundaries but I realised today she’s not able to take care of me; it never was about me since we started dating… There is no room for that. It makes me sad because I know it’s not on her.

My closest friends advise me to stop seeing her, or at least staying friend with her. They explained that if she can’t manage her symptoms in the early stages of dating, it’ll be hell during a relationship.

I wanna know if some of you guys have been dating someone suffering from depression. How was it like ? Did it last ? Do things improve ?

The other way around, can some folks suffering from depression share their experiences with dating ?

I really need to know what should or shouldn’t be put on her depression…

Have a nice day !!

Question Is my yearning and want for intimacy misogynistic/lesbophobic?

I’m a trans girl and haven’t been in a proper relationship for roughly a year. The yearning this week has been BAAAAAAD…. Honestly I was wondering if I was demisexual for a bit and now I’m not so sure… and it’s not even all sexual, honestly I just miss cuddling and words of affirmation…

This might sound dumb though, but wanting said intimacy kinda makes me feel… guilty? Like part of me is worried I’m making a mockery of lesbians and women in general, I’m worried that to be a “real woman” I need to not want this, and only give intimacy to my partner for their pleasure and that I’m not supposed to want it? Like this might sound dumb but in the back of my mind I kinda think almost all women are asexual? And that me wanting it in any capacity means I’m fulfilling the “AGP sex obsessed mentally ill man with a lesbian fetish” stereotype that TERFs have of trans women and I’m so terrified of making other women uncomfortable or just making a mockery of women an appropriating womanhood and lesbianism by wanting it…

So if I’m supposed to be a sapphic trans woman, what is the “right” way to do it? Am I just not supposed to want sex or intimacy in any capacity unless my partner ask for it?

Office Clothing Rant

I'm required to be in office for a min %. There is no longer an office dress code. Industry standard adopted casual code prior to COVID. I dress for my day. If there's an event or I have to meet a client I wear business casual. My clothes are always clean, no sportswear, sandals, holes/rips, too revealing, wrinkled or tight.

My boss has explicitly brought up what I wear multiple times one on one. Feels a bit rich coming from an average height skinny dude. I'm a tallish plus sized queer woman with tattoos and piercings. I don't do dresses, skirts, fast fashion trendy tops. My typical day is black jeans with a band tshirt.

Cost of living is ridiculously high where I am. Other than maintaining a small wardrobe for occasional events, I refuse to spend money on cheap shit that makes me uncomfortable.

Anybody else have to deal with something similar?
