Meanest thing: Stealing Gary's squirrel/hunting story at his birthday
Just rewatching and I find this the truly meanest thing... I mean she harmed more people way worse (looking at you, Tibet).
But it was so thoughtless and cruel to do that for so little gain... just to have a nice soundbite at Gary's very private reception...

Just finished the show!
Hated what they did to Gary(makes the ending better of course); so I get on reddit, look up Gary in Veep sub and see people shitting on Gary??!!??
I get the fact that he is complicit in some things that Selina does, and also his blind devotion without any introspection is just detrimental to him and his peers; but he is just wired that way!! At least he consciously does not do something evil out of sheer selfishness for himself, they usually are out of the selflessness.
I found Catherine slightly annoying in the initial seasons, but my God is everything that she does justified. Right from the birth, to birthdays to marriage, everything is trivial to Selina and this permanent scarring left on Catherine makes everything that Catherine does justifiable.
Selina is one of the worst characters that I've come across. As a self proclaimed empath, it is so infuriating to see how Gary, Amy, Catherine are treated time and time again.
I think the later seasons were a bit too fast and a bit messy but overall excellent, even the ending, though I hated how it ended, it was the only way, but I am surprised by how this sub is giving shit to Gary and not enough to Selina. Boy o boy I really did not want Selina to win oof.

Season 7 episode count
I’m sure this isn’t the first time someone has mentioned this on the sub, but why was season 7 shorter than the others?
It honestly would’ve benefitted from the extra 3 episodes if not for pacing alone. The last few episodes are hilarious, juicy, depressing, etc but they go FAST. Like I blink and someone is dead, fired, or president.
Was this intentional? A network thing?
Side note, I wish this show was 4 more seasons. Or still airing. I can’t believe I’ve rewatched it so many times and it’s still so fresh.

Oh, the old ‘drink your way out of alcoholism’ approach.
Similar to Mike, Vivek keeps buying shitty jeeps and boats when he should just shut the fuck up and reduce his debt.

Do you guys think Uncle Jeff would be happy that Richard became president? Spoiler

Apparently people lack context.

Selina’s dinner with her lawyer friends
This is just unbelievably uncomfortable to watch. It’s just one goof after another from Selina.
The men having drinks is the same vibe, but somehow both better and worse.
The double intruder is great though.

Best underrated 1 liners?
What’s everyone’s favourite niche 1 liner? Not the obvious ones.
Mine is S6E9 from Gary when Selena says “well the history books are being rewritten and this time it’s not Texas saying Satan made fossils”
Gary: “Yes he did!” And Selena quickly reacts “what no” but no one cares enough to acknowledge it again

The Gary’s birthday episode is a tough watch
I know Selena is Selena, but she really just shit all over his 40th birthday party. Redid the menu, said she hated the crystal, stole his dead squirrel joke, invited extra people. Also totally forgot Jean Smart was his mom.

Selina's biggest mistake was having Mike on her team.

am i the only one who hated richard??
i just finished veep and genuinely since he showed up i kept waiting for him to get written off in some way. i found him insufferable in a way i can hardly describe. i feel like he added nothing and was constantly unfunny and brought the show down. also i don’t think he paired really well with jonah and i’m not sure why they were paired together for so long. am i seriously the only one who didn’t fw him???

Is this joke from Veep?
I have a joke stuck in my head from Veep where Dan is at some kind of internal campaign meeting and the person ordering pizza didn’t order any plain pies, and he yells: “Not a single plain pie. Are you insane?!”
Am I imagining this, is it from another show or is it actually a joke from Veep? I can’t find it on Google so I’m starting to think I just made it up or something.

Just noticed Jonah’s chickenpox-caused national outbreak follows his penis-shaped anti-vax campaign trail on a map exactly
It happens so quickly on an already packed episode I just never noticed and it’s fantastic! From Season 7 Episode 6 “Oslo”.
Sorry, couldn’t find a still of the penis shaped graphic of the campaign trail/chickenpox cases on the map.
