DISCUSSION UPDATE: Post flairs, wiki updates, and more!
Hiya! A while ago I put up a discussion thread regarding the idea of updating/expanding the scope and focus of the subreddit. I need to apologize, cuz I intended to post this update a while back, but life stuff resulted in it slipping my mind for a bit.
This is also intended to be a discussion thread in its own right, as I want feedback on all the changes made or if there's any further changes that people would like, but here's a rundown of what's been changed:
Wiki Updates: So apparently the last time the wiki was updated was eight years ago, and by an ex-mod I've never interacted with. It was.. Bad, frankly. Aggressive in tone, containing links to /r/crossdressing as if its focus was synonymous with trans content, and a general vibe of assuming that this was a MtF-exclusive space. I'm really sorry for missing that for so long! On top of changes on my own end, /u/whoop_there_she_is was an absolute angel and wrote out a HUGE set of FAQ guides for both transmasc and transfemme folks. I left it almost entirely unchanged, and you can find it here! If you have any suggestions for additions or edits, please let me know!
Link Flairs: A few people suggested adding link flairs to help people express directly what kind of responses they want from the sub. To start with, I've added "General Advice" for users who just want any kind of feedback people have to offer, "Specific Advice" if they only want feedback on specific things (Clothes, hair, etc), and "No Surgery Recs" if they don't want any sorts of suggestions for FFS, lip fillers, etc. If you have any ideas for more, please let me know!
Sidebar Updates: I've changed up the sidebar slightly to add a link to our wiki near the top, as well as remove some dead or irrelevant links from our "relevant subreddits" section.
Automod Updates: I've edited automod slightly to try and make it less hyper-sensitive about automatically removing posts it thinks might be hypothetical, since it was becoming a big issue that it would frequently take down posts that in no way, shape, or form came off as hypothetical. I might just remove this feature overall though, frankly.
And.. I think that's it (Aside from a few tiny visual things)! Thank you all for your suggestions and feedback on the previous post, and please let me know if there's any further changes you'd like to see!

Mod Feedback Should we go private?
Howdy, y'all.
As you know, this subreddit has often been the target of trolls, bigots, transphobes, etc. We also get more than our fair share of creeps, chasers, porn spammers, and people looking to use the subreddit's traffic to passively advertise their paid content, like their OnlyFans or their Instagram, for their own personal profit.
So I'm asking y'all - should we go private? If we do, a lot of people will need to be manually added to the approval list and I know from experience that may take upwards of two months to work through everyone who might need approval.
It also means this subreddit will get a lot less traffic and will be far less accessible to folks who need help, which is the primary purpose for the subreddit in the first place.
On the other hand, the community should be a lot healthier once it's full of entirely trans folks and has less bigots, chasers, and trolls lurking about.
It will also be a lot safer because transphobes have often used photo boards like this one as a way to find targets for abuse and to steal people's photos to rehost them elsewhere and harass people. It would be much safer for us if the sub was private.
Going private is also going to take a lot of work and it's going to be very disruptive to our day-to-day operations for a while.
What would y'all like to do? Please discuss below, and please keep it civil. Thank you!
Edit: Okay, it looks like we're staying open for now. I'll make another post and ask again later.

I think people are clocking me again. What should I change?
Some guy at work called me son, and men are giving me "the nod". What do you think is clocking me, don't say voice, my voice passes. I was on DIY for awhile and that might've hindered my progress. IDK.

Pass or to get FFS revision?
Got FFS like 2ish years ago now so swelling is all gone. I went more conservative but now feeling like I shouldn't have, so I'm thinking about going for round 2.
I don't get misgendered (not sure if cuz blue state or I just do, but hey bottom line is the same) so it's not suuuuper critical I get it.
And if you're curious these pics are all from a trip I took recently which was very fun :)

2.5 yrs HRT I feel like my friends lie when I ask if I pass
It's crazy seeing so many beautiful girls on here doubtful if they pass or not 😭
I'm 33, been on HRT 2.5 years But I do genuinely feel like I don't pass and when I ask my friends they are just being nice and lying to me. I do Drag and started way before I realized I was trans, so I've been really trying to figure out every day makeup, but it's been challenging.
I've only taken estrogen and t blockers, nothing else yet (I super want facial hair removal)
The very last pic(orange top no makeup) is a year older than the one right before it (orange top with makeup)
Please if I don't pass I completely am okay, I just wanna know if my friends are just sharing my feelings or not

pre transition, do I pass?
I didn’t transition yet I just put my hair in a bun and hid it under my hoodie but when I posted online when I was a woman I constantly got questions asking if I was a boy or a girl. I was wondering if I look like a boy here?

Which wig helps me pass better? And in general how well do I pass
Couple notes, I’m not really wearing that much makeup, just what I do for work, mascara, eyeshadow, blush and usually a lip gloss. Also this is after work so makeup has faded, mostly the blush.
I added a lip stick for these pics personally I like the color but idk.
Also I’ve posted before with the wigs and was told it obviously looks like a wig, I realized that I wasn’t pulling them down in the back🫠😭😞 I’ve done that now, so I’m wondering does it look better now.
Also I know the wigs are a little frizzy I didn’t fully brush them out or put wig de frizz spray on them.
Didn’t take a pic with my real hair I forgot to before doing wigs so my hair doesn’t look amazing atm, it’s flat and I need to wash it again anyway so yea

Passing? On T for 2 years now.
I pass a huge majority of the time in public. I moreso just worry about being clocked because of my chest (I’m an A-cup though, and don’t really need to bind) and not having much facial hair yet (I have a baby stache but not thick enough yet to really be noticed far away). I get the occasional she/her, but mostly at my job where I’m dealing with drunk white women.

Well aware I don't pass, what can I do about it? (List of procedures in desc + pre-hrt jumpscare at end)
(Reposting cuz it got stuck in mod queue 😔) 22 months into HRT, started at 26 and turned 28 3 days ago. Long hair pics are a wig, mixed in pics with makeup and without as well as a side profile as it's the weakest view. I'm well aware I don't pass, but I would like advice on what I can do, if anything, to change that in the long term. Any feedback is welcome, please mention any specific features you think make it most obvious. If you think passing is unattainable please say so, ty.
Done/Active Procedures: - full body laser for last year - face electrolysis for the last several months - lost 157 lb in last 2-3 yrs, working on 50 more - began workout routine the last few months - Grown out hair the last 2.5 yrs and worked on hair routine - Recently learning how to straighten hair - Out everywhere except work - Seeing voice therapist weekly
Planned Procedures: - Upper Third FFS in 1 month (Dec 2nd, will decide exact procedures in 2 weeks) - Double Jaw Surgery to fix severe overbite (was moved to Summer of 2027 due to complications, so FFS took its place above) - Ear piercings
Future Procedures: - Middle third FFS on nose n such - Lower third FFS if jaw surgery is insufficient - Body feminization/contouring with simultaneous loose skin removal - Others are dependent on where I am 2-3 yrs from now

Haircuts that’ll help me pass?
I’ve never gone in the men’s restrooms, I’m too scared to. But I get weird stares in the women’s

9 months on hrt and looking for advice
The photos range from like 9-7 months on hrt but I haven’t had much changes other than getting my bangs redone. I’m honestly just dealing with a lot of misgendering by customers at work and it could just be that I don’t voice train. But I’m wondering if I’m just not passing.
