Open [TOMT] Been looking for this movie since I was 8

Hello,

I have been looking for this movie since 2007 when I was 8 years old.

Brief backstory:

Late fall 2007 I had just finished beating Conflict: Desert Storm on gamecube with my dad. After which I stumbled into our house's living room to tell my mom. On the TV was a scene:

It was a man sitting in a car with a revolver pointing a revolver his own head. He appeared to be on a radio arguing with someone. It looked as if he might've been strapped to a bomb. This was nearly 20 years ago so it's hard to tell now. It took place at night and people were running panicked in front of the car. He may have been at a plaza or some type of business parking lot idk. The man appeared slightly heavy-set with curly hair. The only lines he spoke before my mom quickly changed the channel were "I thought you were my friend!" or it could have been "What type of friend are you!"

That scene mesmorized me when I was little kid and now that I'm older I want to see what that movie (or tv show) was about. Problem is I can't seem to find it. I've tried asking friends, my parents, coworkers, even multiple types of AI but nothing seems to come up with the right answer.

It could be I'm misremembering key details, but at its core I remember a man in a car, pointing a revolver at his head, holding sometype of commication device, with people running frantic around the car.

I would love to see what others think it was!

Thank you.

Solved [TOMT] Unidentified Massachusetts Halloween attraction?

ok I didn't know where else to post this since there's not really a subreddit for lost attractions lol so please forgive me if this doesn't fit the theme of this subreddit, but I need help finding info on this distant memory.

my recollection: We waited in a line outside before going in. I don't remember if we walked right into the theater or if there was some rooms before it. The "theater" is in a very small room, I'd say it had somewhere around 20 or so seats, and I think they were movie theater style seats. The lights were off and there MIGHT have been a fog machine? I remember there being a projector screen and possibly some Halloween decor on the small stage that was up front. Maybe curtains too? So we sit and wait for the show to start. Projector goes on and plays a video/film of some sort? I remember it showing a forest so I assume it might be something Sleepy Hollow related but take that with a huge grain of salt. Then a guy comes out onto the stage in costume and starts narrating/ telling a spooky story over the footage? I can't remember what he was dressed as at all, though I think I remember a cape? The show goes on like this for maybe around 20 minutes to a half-hour.. and that was it.

other info:
-around the early to mid 2010s
-most likely within Worcester County or Middlesex county (could be entirely wrong, just know it was 100% in MA)

Keep in mind I was below the age of ten when I went to this so there is probably a lot of inaccuracies in my recollection.

And thats literally all I know. This is driving me absolutely insane. I am partially convinced that this was a dream bc the memory is SO vague. Please someone find this before I go mad. Thank you.

Open. [TOMT] Song With High, Soaring Falsetto. 70s-80s

I’m trying to think of a song. It would be 70s or extremely early 80s and has a male vocalist who as part of the chorus lets a strong falsetto run, very similar to the one in Shambhala. The song has a boat-y theme, in the same feeling as Southern Cross or Cool Change.

Open [TOMT][SONG][80s-90s] 80s pop song

This bit is stuck in my head. I feel like this is a popular song, so this will be answered pretty quickly, but idk where else to go, I've searched for "songs with yeah yeah" and I seriously doubt Googling a bunch of music notes will do anything. I asked my mom and she recognizes it but she can't remember what it is either. Keep in mind that I have mediocre pitch and a low vocal range, so this is some octaves lower than it should be.

Open [TOMT] [Book] [2020’s]

I’m looking for a book that was reasonably popular on instagram possibly a few months ago.

I’m not an avid user of instagram at all, but a few months ago I opened the app and I glimpsed a video where someone talked about the book I’m now looking for. I quietly assumed I’d look it up later but forgot its name; in the post, the op lamented a core gimmick of the book, that being that it’s split in several “acts” (don’t remember if that was the lingo used) and that each time you finish an act, you’re required to reread the book from the start to look at past events through a new perspective. The book was massive, with a dark cover to my memory, and it seemed to be soooort of well known in contemporary fantasy circles? If anyone knows what I’m talking about it and it’s not too vague, that’d be of great help, thank you.

Open [TOMT][VIDEO] Classic YouTube “Nightmare Fuel” Music Video from the Late 00s/Early 10s

Hello, I’m looking for an old YT video that I can’t seem to find anywhere. As I recall, it was a surreal edit of an old PSA set to electronic music. The original PSA was clearly directed at kids. It was probably from the 1960s and seemed to be about bullying or including other children during playtime.

In the edit, the kids’ faces were distorted with visual effects to look creepy and alien, such as having their ears and tongues elongated, things like that. The video ended with the main character (a blonde-haired boy) having fire in his eyes, and then he used laser vision to blow the other kids up. The explosions were kind of cartoony.

I think it was featured on Web Soup’s “Things You Can’t Unsee” in 2010, but I can’t find the original clip of that either. Any help or insight would be appreciated!

Open. [TOMT] Children's book from the early 2000s-2010s

Recently I've been thinking about this children's picture book that I had as a kid during the early to mid 2010s problem is I can't remember the title, the author or when it came out. All I remember is the plot, so pls tell me if this sounds familiar.

Basically this boy wakes up for the first day of school really anxious and scared and when he goes to school, everything is dark and creep, and all the teachers and school staff are monsters like the lunch lady is a ogre?

And she feeds the students gross things like gruel or something, the boy freaked out runs home and crawls back into bed hoping to out of the nightmare when he does wake up and go to school for real, everything is bright and colorful, his teachers are nice, the lunch lady feeds him real food, and at the end of the school day he finds himself wanting to go back the next day, essentially it was a book that taught kids to over come their fears of school.

Edit- found the book it's The Spider School by Francesca Simon

Open [TOMT][TV SHOW OR MOVIE][1990s] Woman with skeleton mask, red-eyed monster

Context will follow. First, here's all of the information I have about the show/movie:

"The television was on, and the round, hollow eyes of a skeleton were staring out at us. Before I could get up to turn off the television, the picture changed. A woman seated in front of a mirror was pulling a skeleton mask off of her face."

"When I turned back to the television, I saw a hairy creature with pointed teeth and flashing red eyes."

Date/Location Info:

These sentences are from a personal narrative I wrote for a high school class my senior year. They are the only sentences of my story that describe the show that I saw. The day I saw the show had to have been either late 1997 or early 1998. My paper was a true story about the night when my two-year-old niece was sleeping over and I kept catching her awake during the night. During one of those times I found her happily watching a scary TV show or movie. That's the show I'm trying to find. Now that she's in her 30s and is a fan of scary shows, I'd like to show her the show I caught her watching when she was two! She turned two in October of '97, so the night I saw her watching the show had to have happened in October '97 or after. Since I wrote about it in a paper that I used in my school portfolio, I had to have written it before May of 1998. The show had to have aired between October 1997 and early May 1998. It could have been a first run or it could've been a rerun. It also could have been a syndicated show or a movie. Since it was on in the middle of the night, it could have been something that the local station chose to air during the slow hours of the night. These were the antennae years, before the stations switched to digital, and I had no cable or satellite. At the time I wrote the paper, I had only one channel, the local ABC (American Broadcasting Company) station. However, if the show was syndicated or was a movie, it's possible that it wasn't an ABC show even though it aired on our local ABC channel. Also, because my niece was sleeping over, it was most likely a Friday or Saturday night, although I can't be sure of that since it also could have been the night before a day off from school. In my paper I also wrote about catching my niece watching the early-morning farm report later that same night, so the scary show had to have aired in the hours before the farm report. If I remember right, the farm report was on around 4 or 5 a.m. every day back then.

(More to come in my required first comment.)

Open. [TOMT] [MOVIE/TV SHOW] People are going through underground tunnels and find a village of people inside of a warehouse.

It’s possible that this is a book too, but I’m leaning more towards a movie or TV show since I’m picturing it and I don’t always visualize books. I’m not sure of a timeline. I’m 41 and I feel like it would’ve been within the past 5 years or so.

I remember 2-3 people sneaking through underground tunnels, trying to get away from pursuers. They open a door to a massive warehouse with houses built inside and people living in them. It’s not cavelike underground at all.Think an Amazon warehouse with a little village like Suburbia from Edward Scissorhands. Happy people living their lives in this warehouse and oblivious to the world outside.

I think the people are under the impression that it’s not safe to go outside. The main characters are sneaking around this village and then the pursuers come in and start shooting at them, I think? I also think they try to get these people to escape with them and go outside but they won’t because they feel it’s unsafe and they don’t trust the main characters.

I’ve tried searching and it’s not From, Silo, The 100, or City of Ember. I haven’t watched/read any of those. I thought maybe it was Severance but nothing comes up when I search that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Open. [TOMT] [Childrens Book] [1990s]

I was born in 1989 and probably read this when I was about 6-8, although had a high reading level for my age. I live in England.

The story was about two children (at least) who ran away from home and managed to somehow set up a new life on an island. I know there’s not much to go on.

Cover illustration likely of a row boat filled with food.

Solved [TOMT][Creepypasta] (Not famous) Creepypasta story

This story was not famous, I read it when browsing the Creepypasta website, probably between 2022-24. The story goes as follows:
- a boy is kicked out of his room (for whatever reason) and is forced to sleep in a different room with a bunk bed. He sleeps on the top bunk
- at night, he starts hearing something on the bottom bunk. Sometimes, the thing sticks his hand between the slats of the top bunk bed and jabs him, seemingly to test if the boy is awake. It is very painful.
- one day he wakes up in the middle of the night and the entity is sort of coming through the wall. The details are blurry from here but, as I imagine/remember, the entity is sort of laying next to him, partly in the wall (not a hole in the wall, more like it’s phasing through the wall) with its arm around him and tries to slowly pull him into the wall. The creature is humanoid and slimy. He escapes

Solved [TOMT] [Song] Strong female voice singing

Hello I have part of a song stuck in my head, and I only remember some of the tune but not the words to it (but it could something like “bye bye bye”?) I’ve recorded a Vocaroo which I feel should hopefully be obvious enough to anyone who knows the name! The singer’s voice is strong and female, and I would assume it is a black woman from her timbre, or at the least a Christina Aguilera-type if not. I haven’t used Vocaroo before so I hope the link works, and that it is clear enough to be helpful :) https://voca.ro/1aICiF0OzCsc

Open [TOMT][Simple melody][2020s] Does anyone recognise this melody from a clock tower?

There's a clock tower in my city that chimes every 15 mins and uses Big Ben's Westminster melody to mark the intervals. A few years ago, I heard this melody play at 12 pm instead (I've done my best to recreate it). I assume it was a one-off for a special occasion.

Unfortunately, I can barely find any info on which tower the chimes even come from let alone what the melody might be called, so I'm having trouble finding any answers.

Does anyone recognise it?

Open [TOMT] [EDUCATIONAL VIDEO] [90s] creepy Elementary School educational video about being home alone/calling 911

I’ve been trying to find this for over a month so thought I would ask here. When I was in kindergarten in the late 00s, my teacher or maybe a police officer who visited showed us this old educational video that scared the hell out of me. I’m not fully sure what the plot of it was, but there was a teenage girl who I think was home alone and squirted ketchup all over herself to pretend she was bleeding and then called 911. I also remember it ending with someone ringing the doorbell and her getting scared and then it showed that it was just trick-or-treating kids. The kids were walking away from the door and one of them was wearing this creepy green witch mask. The video was definitely old because we watched it on those rolling VCR tv’s. I feel it was most likely made in the 90s but it could’ve been earlier. I also remember the coloring being very cool toned and blue. I grew up in Wisconsin if that helps too. Apologies that I remember so little.

Solved [TOMT][Anime/Scene] An anime where a girl with telekinetic powers throws an entire passenger plane at a large kaiju/monster

It's some sort of action anime where each character has some unique ability. The girl in question (I think?) has the power to summon and throw objects at targets, and during an action scene in a city at night, the girl starts throwing dozens of small bombs (or jets?) at a monster to little effect, culminating in her putting a lot of effort into "throwing" an entire passenger plane at the monster. The scene is really well animated, the animators put a lot of effort into making the plane feel heavy.

The scene popped into my head this morning out of the blue and I don't remember what anime it's from because I only remember seeing clips of it on Youtube. I remember seeing the scene about 10ish years ago? The anime is probably from that period too.

Solved [TOMT] Looking for a specific phrase that essentially means out of touch and Hypocritical

I was discussing the adultery subreddit and how it’s wild to me that people who are in years-long affairs will insist that they love their spouses and don’t want to change their home lives. I know there’s a phrase to describe people like this who are out of touch and hypocritical, and it’s often used when referring to politicians or political administrations, but I genuinely cannot remember it. I’m wracking my brain trying to figure out and this is causing me stress lol

Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] [2012-2014] 2D and 3D Animated Movie about a schoolboy who becomes attracted with a ghost girl

I remember randomly watching this movie, because it was being broadcast on Nick at Nite. It must have been around 2009-2010. I remember the movie being both hand-drawn and computer-animated, but it has a very good, high-quality look to it. The movie starts out with main character being a young teen who falls in love with a female, bright-blue ghost. At the end of the movie, our main character and the dead girlfriend were making out before the end credits roll. I really hope that everyone can help me find this movie, because I've been searching for it for years now.

Open [TOMT] [ANIMATION] segment in a “try not to cry” video that scared me when I was little

In or around 2015-2018 I watched a YouTube video titled something along the lines of “try not to cry” I believe it was a reaction style video and one specific animation (or possibly multiple different animations?) shown in it scared me so bad. There were a couple different plot lines, the two that I remember are; 1. a father dies at war and mother dies to cancer which leaves their kid to be an orphan 2. A child throws a ball into a road for their dog to catch but when the dog comes back instead of having gotten the ball he puts his paw in the child’s hand revealing it to be bloodied and run over. These were both 2d animations and now that I think about it could very well have been from completely different artists. As for the reaction video itself I cannot remember a single thing about the reactor except that I want to say it was a white dude. At least one other video was shown before the animation segment started, it was a live action video of an old woman not being able to afford a cake for either her or her daughters birthday, but in the end somehow acquired the money to get one. I don’t necessarily need to find the reaction video or the other live action film shown in it (still would be nice to see tho) I’m more so just interested in figuring out what these animations could have possibly been to have bothered me so badly. Any possible suggestions are very appreciated 🫡

Solved [TOMT] [COMMERCIAL] Woman walks down the street but all the sound effects are replaced by jazz music

I distinctly remember seeing this commercial, it was either in the 2000s or the 2010s, it's this woman walking down the street in a sun dress but all the sound effects are replaced by jazz music. A dog barks at her, an old lady yells at her (and whatever she's yelling is replaced by scatting) and a dude honks his horn at her (that one didn't age so well). I don't remember what the commercial was for and I can't find it even with Google's AI thingy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks either way.

Solved [TOMT][YouTube video][2000s] Boy mumbles a closing line into the camera

The key thing: the whole video builds up to a boy’s mumbled closing statement. At the very end, a boy (kid or teenager) looks into the camera and delivers one short sentence, about 5 seconds long, in a heavy mumbled American accent. That line is the "punchline" (not funny actually) and the reason the video is memorable or funny.

I saw it on YouTube years ago. It has an amateur VHS look, probably early 2000s, USA. It’s either a school project or a student-made PSA/educational video, maybe about drugs, but I’m not sure.

Solved [TOMT][SONG] Song that includes audio of children wanting to kill people

I just randomly remembered this song but I forgot the name of it. There were both a little boy and little girl speaking. I don't remember what the kids say exactly but I think one of them says that they want to rip somebody's head off. The song itself features a lot of drums, not a lot going on. I also remember it being a popular tiktok edit audio for a while.

Open [TOMT] [BOOK] Book about Theoretical Physics / Astrophysics with a Mostly Black Cover

Please help me, this is driving me crazy. 😭
I can't remember the author's name or the book title, but I want to say the title had "Light" in it, maybe...?

Somewhere around 2008 - 2012 (?), I found and read a used book about theoretical physics / astrophysics that was written for readers to build an easier understanding of the concepts, while going through the history of discoveries in these fields, including things like the double-slit experiment of course. There was a chapter (or maybe just a section?) discussing the luminiferous ether that I felt was lighthearted without, like, hardcore making fun of the fact that it was incorrect, fairly early in the book -- maybe as much as a third of the way in?

I had it as a paperback. I want to say that it may have been published in the early 2000's? The cover was mostly black and had a matte finish (not glossy) with some kind of small design that I want to say was yellowish/greenish and slightly off-center? It wasn't a crazy, impactful design like what I've been seeing when searching for the title -- I don't think it had any enticing black hole or indications of fast-motion. I think it was just a bunch of, like, blurred light fuzzywubs basically? But it's been a long time, so I'm not sure.

Overall, the writing was an easy read, like I said, and it had some touches of humor to it that didn't seem horribly forced. The author's voice came through pretty well; it felt sort of like I was on a couch listening to a friend explain something niche that they've been really into, breaking down context in layman's terms, using prior discoveries to explain how our understanding came to be, but still using technical terms after the reader has been familiarized adequately. Again, it was a fairly light read considering the subject material.

Open [TOMT][GAME] mobile game i played when i was little

this was during prime animal jam, around 2018. it isnt the best description and i bareky remember anything about it but there was this game id play when i was little. i remember there being all these different rooms you could visit and play with a bunch of other real people. i remember this sort of hotelish lobby room, a restaraunt room, a pool/spa room, a club with a piano, i think thwre was a movie room with a couch. i think there was this spinner you could spin every few hours or days during a certain event. i think you could decorate your characte, i cant quite remember if you played as a person or animal, but the best i can put it is like a combo of animal jam and kim kardashian hollywood
