Any outstanding orders have basically got early access to pre orders it looks like! Was originally M5 so that’s good they’ve done that. Would’ve been brutal if they didn’t. I’ll take the extra few days wait 👨🏼‍💻

I currently have a 2023 Mac Mini running MacOS Golden Gate. Computer works fine, my printers however are something all together. I am looking to print regular documents and a few good quality photos on occasion. I have tried HP printers and they cannot print photos a 5x7 or 4x6 sheet. I recently bought an Espon EcoTank 8500 and printing looks great for both photos and docs. However, the printer constantly goes offline even though it still shows connected to wifi. I am always having to restart the printer or remove and then re-add the printer. If anyone can help, I just want a printer that prints photos and documents when I want it to. Thanks.

I got an M4 Max just over a year ago and I keep it mostly on power and its on 80% charge but my battery health seems like its gone down quick. Is this normal for this Mac?

1. One thing I miss about windows is everything, you type in a few word and the file list come out instantly. I try raycast and spotlight but it's just not as good.

2. Creat new files. In the windows, you can right click in the blank and creat a word, ppt, or txt, MD. but on Mac you can't do that.

3. After updating to macOS 27, I get this ghost title at the upper left corner (fig 1)that wouldn't go away.

So, I dripped some iced tea on my MacBook. Not too much but enough to say it could possibly lead to damage.

Went to ComSpot (Apple Premium Partner in Germany) and they gave me a fixed price for a repair. 1300€. ($1450)

The MacBook works! I can use it normally but supposedly there’s still the liquid inside. I cannot see myself paying that much money to “fix” it. How bad would it be to just continue using it like that with more caution.

Thanks to everyone for the help I ended up looking at both the air and pro in person and ultimately decided on getting the 14 inch pro. I got it with the m5 pro chip 24gb RAM 1tb for £2200 was that a good price?

I’m experiencing a strange issue with Apple Mail on my Mac mini.

Whenever I compose a new email and click the attachment button, the file selection window opens as an extremely wide, blank white horizontal block. The window extends beyond the screen boundaries, making it impossible to access the files or select an attachment.

I can resize the window vertically, but not horizontally. Changing its height doesn’t resolve the issue or reveal the missing content. The white block also moves together with the Mail compose window.

Tried safe mode, upgraded from Tahoe to Golden gate, reinstalled the macOS l, changed resolution the issue still persists.

The Mac mini is connected to a single external monitor.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue with macOS

These horizontal lines have been on the display of my M3 MacBook Air since I bought it a few months ago. I can’t find anything on the internet that seems to have a solution, so any advice is appreciated.

I’m planning on replacing my work iMac with the new M6 iMac but my setup is clean and organized, and I don’t want to spend days rebuilding it.

For anyone who’s done a Mac-to-Mac or Time Machine migration :

1. Does Migration Assistant bring over Mail with 3 accounts, rules, signatures and folders, or do I end up re-entering everything?
2. Which apps usually ask you to log in again (Microsoft 365, Slack, Claude, browsers, password managers), and do their settings survive?
3. Do the Dock, desktop layout, shortcuts and app preferences carry over exactly?
4. For Claude (the desktop app and Claude Code) : do my conversations, settings, projects, and local configs (CLAUDE.md, skills, MCP servers) come along, or do I need to move them manually ?
5. Any gotchas with moving to a brand-new macOS release right away?

It’s my main work machine, so I’ll keep the old iMac for a few days as a safety net.

Updated Magic Keyboard with US layout and glyphs not available in Europe

Apple has updated the Magic Keyboard with the US layout to use glyphs instead of text on buttons such as return, tab, etc. However, this keyboard is not available in Europe. The official Apple Online Store in all EU countries I’ve checked so far, and major retailers, only list the previous version.

Is there any information for when this updated keyboard will be available for purchase in the EU?

Hello: I am a former Windows user from Spain. I have no experience with Macs. I recently purchased a MacBook Air M5. I have macOS "Golden Gate" installed, with the latest updates. I had to install Java 8 (Oracle) update 511. The question is quite simple, though I haven't been able to get an answer. I am concerned.

Is it normal for the section created by the Java installer within the Mac's System Settings to be completely blank, preventing the Java Control Panel from appearing? Java seems to be working correctly for me. Is this a bug in Java or its installer? Could it be an issue with my macOS installation? Should I restore my Mac to factory settings via the System Settings to try and fix this?

I have a 2017 MacBook Air with 121 GB of flash storage, of which only 23 GB are currently available. It’s still working reasonably well, but I’m running macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and haven’t been able to update the operating system for years. Or course I’ve tried to delete all possible junk to do so.

Buying a new laptop isn’t an option for me at the moment, so I’m trying to figure out what I can do to keep this MacBook usable and up to date.

What would you recommend? Are there any ways to upgrade macOS on this model, free up enough storage to install a newer version, or improve its performance without spending too much money?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who have dealt with the same issue with an older MacBook Air.

Hey guys! I'm just trying to install and fix the app and it works on mac but i have a huge ploblem that my schoolwork need read and write file on cpp like Read on file A.inp and export it to A.out
I try to freopen but my A.out cannot update the file to export, and it export to my user folder.

My 16” MBP 2019 starts throttling to 1990s level speeds the moment the GPU is switched on, even when the temperatures are well below 70C. Apparently this is due to the VRMs overheating, causing them to reduce power to the CPU and GPU. In extreme cases, power is completely cut from the GPU, causing the screen to go black after only 5 minutes of playing games. Do other Intel MacBook Pros suffer from this issue? I heard the 15” 2019 doesn’t throttle at all, so is that a better option in some ways?
