Any outstanding orders have basically got early access to pre orders it looks like! Was originally M5 so that’s good they’ve done that. Would’ve been brutal if they didn’t. I’ll take the extra few days wait 👨🏼‍💻

So my MacBook Pro 2023 won’t turn on, it makes a ticking sound when I plug in the charger (MagSafe and usbc). A couple times I put it in a specific position or something where it turned on for a few minutes. I bought a new Mac and I want to transfer everything to the new one, but I need the old one to turn on for just enough time to do that. Is there any way I can turn it on? Some stuff is saved on iCloud so I have that stuff but not everything. Let me know if there’s anything I can do I only need it on for like 10 mins. I tried recreating what I did before but it’s not working.

recently, i've been digging for possible ways to actually get something akin to a compose key on mac, and i did!

i found a layout titled "U.S. Custom", which replaces the backtick key (`) with a functional compose key, the only caveat is the lack of uppercase letters when pressing caps lock, which means that sticky keys will be your best friend while using the layout.

I'm having an issue with my MacBook Air M2.Bought in end of 2023 The left built-in speaker produces a buzzing or distorted sound whenever audio plays, even at low volume. The right speaker sounds normal.

Here's what I've checked so far:

The buzzing happens at both low and high volumes.

Headphones sound completely normal.

- Apple Diagnostics reported no problems.

The issue seems to be limited to the left built-in speaker.

I'm not sure whether this is a damaged speaker, a loose internal component, or a macOS software issue.

Has anyone experienced this with an M2 MacBook Air?

Can Apple Diagnostics miss a faulty speaker?

- Is there another test I can perform before taking it for

- If the speaker needs replacing, is it usually an expensive repair?

I'd appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!

Been using macbook air M1 since 2020 absolutley love it but my display died due to liquid damage 2 years back had it replaced with 3rd party and the display is dead again after a year I dont wanna replace this laptop but apples replacement is still very coslty. I want to replace it with genuine display can someone suggest me where could I source one for cheaper price. (I live in Toronto)

1. One thing I miss about windows is everything, you type in a few word and the file list come out instantly. I try raycast and spotlight but it's just not as good.

2. Creat new files. In the windows, you can right click in the blank and creat a word, ppt, or txt, MD. but on Mac you can't do that.

3. After updating to macOS 27, I get this ghost title at the upper left corner (fig 1)that wouldn't go away.

I'm planning to buy a Mac mini, but I'm struggling to decide between two configurations:

- Mac mini M5 Pro with 24GB of RAM
- Mac mini M6 with 32GB of RAM

The final price would be very similar, so I'm trying to figure out which one would be the better long-term investment.

My main uses would be:

- Music production: mainly metal and electronic music. I use Reaper, virtual instruments such as Superior Drummer, and various plugins for amp simulation, mixing and mastering.

- 4K video editing: Mostly youtube, not professional works

I don't need a machine for gaming, and I'm not a professional producer or video editor. However, I'd like a computer that can handle fairly complex music projects and 4K footage smoothly, without running into memory limitations too quickly.

Would the M5 Pro's more powerful chip and higher memory bandwidth make a bigger difference than the extra 8GB of RAM on the base M6? Or would 32GB of RAM be more useful for my workload in the long run?

I'd really appreciate feedback from people who use their Macs for similar tasks, especially anyone who has experience with both Pro and base chips.

Hello: I am a former Windows user from Spain. I have no experience with Macs. I recently purchased a MacBook Air M5. I have macOS "Golden Gate" installed, with the latest updates. I had to install Java 8 (Oracle) update 511. The question is quite simple, though I haven't been able to get an answer. I am concerned.

Is it normal for the section created by the Java installer within the Mac's System Settings to be completely blank, preventing the Java Control Panel from appearing? Java seems to be working correctly for me. Is this a bug in Java or its installer? Could it be an issue with my macOS installation? Should I restore my Mac to factory settings via the System Settings to try and fix this?

Hi everyone!

I have a 2017 MacBook Air with 121 GB of flash storage, of which only 23 GB are currently available. It’s still working reasonably well, but I’m running macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and haven’t been able to update the operating system for years. Or course I’ve tried to delete all possible junk to do so.

Buying a new laptop isn’t an option for me at the moment, so I’m trying to figure out what I can do to keep this MacBook usable and up to date.

What would you recommend? Are there any ways to upgrade macOS on this model, free up enough storage to install a newer version, or improve its performance without spending too much money?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who have dealt with the same issue with an older MacBook Air.

Hey guys! I'm just trying to install and fix the app and it works on mac but i have a huge ploblem that my schoolwork need read and write file on cpp like Read on file A.inp and export it to A.out
I try to freopen but my A.out cannot update the file to export, and it export to my user folder.
Can everyone fix it to export the file on my folder not on user folder! Sorry my english is bad
