Need Advice I got outed and I don’t know what to do

I don’t know if this is the right place to post this, but I hope it is.

I got a wife and two kids. A while back, I started feeling like crap and wasn’t satisfied with my life. It got bad enough that my doctor told me I had blood pressure problems and put me on blood pressure medication. I don’t know if that had anything to do with what happened next.

That’s when everything started going downhill. I began feeling attracted to men, more than before. One early morning at work, I met a security guard. We got to talking, then he kissed me, and next thing you know, we were in a car fooling around and giving each other head. Unfortunately, my boss’s daughter’s boyfriend saw the whole thing.

I started going to gay bars, dressing up in leather gear. One night, while I was dancing, I ran into a friend of my coworkers who just happened to be there.

I was terrified that sooner or later somebody was gonna out me. I work for a waste disposal company, so my coworkers are pretty old-school and narrow-minded, if you catch my drift.
Not knowing what the hell else to do, I told my wife I had to leave town for a long work assignment in another city.

So I basically moved out there. While I was in the new city, the people who’d seen me started spreading the word, and now everybody knows. My coworkers took it real bad, and so did my boss. If I go back, I could lose my job.
My brother-in-law took it even worse. He talked to my wife and told her I wasn’t gonna get away with it if I ever came back.

Now, I’ve met a guy here, a firefighter. I don’t know if I’m in love with him or what, but I spend the night at his place pretty often.

So what would you guys do in my position? Start a new life here and leave my family and job behind, or go back and face my brother-in-law and my coworkers?

Meme How do you unlock the double jump?

I first saw a double jumper a year ago, and when I asked her how to gain such powers, she told me that trans people can double jump. Fast forward a couple months, and it turns out that I'm trans. I still haven't unlocked the double jump. I tried using pride pins, the Blåhaj, everything. How do you unlock the double jump?

Need Advice It feels like every trans person is valid except me

The title sums it well but I’ll talk and (I suppose it probably counts as) rant more.

If anyone says anything about their gender I will try my absolute hardest to ensure I get everything right, because they are as described. I, however, just feel like a fraud trying to claim its the same for me.

I put that I’m a trans girl in bios or descriptions, and it gets brought up at times when it’s “safe“ (I don’t think I’d be in danger but most people I know would be against me) to do so in real life, but it’s almost like wishing to be trans the same way I wish to be a girl. And like “oh but you are a girl” it doesn’t feel like it that’s for sure. I keep telling myself that when I ONE DAY go through the whole process of gender affirming care I will be able to feel more real about it, or that eventually I’ll just be comfortable enough to get used to it, or just that something will happen, but I‘m either too impatient or pessimistic to actually believe it.

Saw a post yesterday of someone saying they wished they were trans before proceeding to say the most transgender thing I’ve ever read, and I’d support them 100% on whoever they wanted to be, but no matter how many things I feel the same about on any posts from people who’ve realised yet or not I can’t actually go “yeah I’m a girl” and believe it. “You didn’t hate how you looked all that much before” (despite knowing euphoria matters more than dysphoria, and that it’s really only putting up with what I had), “you don’t feel it strongly enough so it doesn’t count” (arbitrary quantity but that doesn’t matter emotionally), “you’re probably lying because you’ve had sexual fantasies as a girl and am just a creep, and because you probably wouldn’t have done anything about it if you weren’t told it was a thing” (which ive seen from several trans people who I would consider valid) and probably more.

Does it ever get better? Can I ever make myself happier about this, I guess? I don’t know what to do besides hate myself for both being like I am now and wanting to be who I want to be.

so i have a question!!

so there’s a girl in my choir class and she’s was obviously a female at birth but from last year to this year it looked like she may have been transitioning (like she cut her hair short, started forcing her voice to be deeper, and wearing more masculine clothes) but being respectful i didn’t ask her any questions or push. however this year i realized i was referring to (fake name) jordan as “they” and i didn’t know if that was jordan’s proper pronouns so i went over to jordan (not putting jordan on the spot or anything) while jordan was alone asked jordan what jordan’s pronouns were so i didn’t disrespect jordan. but jordan got really uncomfortable and told me not to ask jordan that, so i said ok and sorry and walked away, now if i did something wrong and i feel really bad and would it be disrespectful if i were to just refer to jordan as they?

Sad about biphobia/homophobia/queerphobia Straights and admitting prejudice Spoiler

On the recent bisexuality thing. If you're dating someone and they dicover that they're bisexual 3 years into your relationship and after you find out you view them differently what is it lol. The partner didn't change, your perception of them changed, based on ones preconceived ideas about bisexuality. 0 non bigoted reasons. Your partner is commited to you. You are years into a relationship. nothing changed but additional knowledge of their identity. If your partner didn't disclose their finding you wouldn't find out. The only reason they lose attraction is due to preconceived notions about bisexuality and bisexuals.

No one is forcing straights to date bisexuals, being honest about their prejudices is enough. Straight men are either upfront about their bigotry or deny the bisexuality as a quirk or a fetish etc.

Different flavours of phobia.

Straight women are offended by being called a homophone or a biphobe. Ridiculous.

Lesbians can prefer to date lesbians due to unique and marginalised shared life experience and outlook. It's different.

I'm not bi myself, but am queer and get so so tired of straight people sometimes. Why is it so hard to admit that they might be prejudiced, majority of people are ignorant but capable of growing and improving. No one is forcing anyone to date a queer person.

I've never dated a person of an opposite gender but have faced violence and homophobia. I'm not a man but I do feel for bisexual men, women get dismissed too but in a condescending/patronising way. A lot of bisexual trans people date within our community so yay.

Even in an internet bubble (i rarely use social media or internet due to a lack of time lol, but it's a safe space living in a homophobic country) one can encounter people spewing hateful rhetoric like how queer people are cheaters or dirty or "fixed by good dick" or "folded by a man, gay in denial" WHILE denying that what they're saying is bigoted.

Queerphobia isn't exclusive to cishets but obviously statistically they are the majority, and majority bigoted.

I console myself with the idea that at least in quite a few countries cishets do not want to be seen as bad people lol. But it's the same as- one doesn't have to be A racist to be racist. The roots of their loss of attraction is homophobia/queerphobia, even if not explicit and obvious to them.

Anyway,

All love, sincerely

*I don't want to police anyones dating or love life, it's the denial that irks me, I'm not stuck on this nor do I spend time/energy on this because bigger fish to fry but I think a person can care about few things, even like passive prejudice, at the same time as living a full life with responsibilities.

Need Advice Can’t tell if i’m gender fluid or trans or confused.

• Upvotes

So yea the title is pretty self explanatory, but i just want to add some things because i really can’t tell, and i just want to know already. Okay so I am AFAB(? Hope thats the right term), but for the past few months (since about mid june ?) i’ve REALLY really wished i was a boy, i wish people would refer to me as he/him, called me by another name, refer to me as their son/brother/nephew whatever, and stuff like that. But the thing is i kind of think i only want people to call me those things, if i actually LOOK like a boy ykwim?? Also i don’t think I necessarily get gender dysphoria when people refer to me as a girl, and by my birth name, but i don’t think get dysphoria when i see fathers (i wish to be one when i’m older), older brothers, a boy in the clothing i want to wear, and stuff like that. It makes me sob and cry thinking about how badly i want to be a boy. And i feel a little bit of gender euphoria when someone teats me like how they’d treat a cis boy (saying stuff like “sure man” or “whatever dude” ykwim?) also another thing that confuses me, is when i think of myself when i’m older in my head, i think of a woman, not a man, not because i want to be a woman when i’m older, but because i’m so used to thinking of myself a girl, yk? Also i can’t really think of any times where I’ve necessarily felt like neither a girl nor a boy, i can maybe think of times where ive felt like a girl, but my memory isn’t great so theres a good chance i didn’t actually feel like a girl at the time, and i wanted to be a boy way back then too, and just didn’t know it. which is part of the reason i’m not sure if i’m genderfluid, or transgender. I think i get a lot of dysphoria, for a few things, but i don’t get a lot of euphoria i don’t think, or i haven’t noticed it. I don’t know, if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Need Advice I (19 MtF) really want my partner (22 NB) to meet my parents, but my parents live in Idaho and I don't know what to do.

Hey, so I (19 MtF) am at a hard decision, and I could use some advice. I'm currently in college (trying to graduate this year, but I've been so sick this semester I don't know if that's happening) in Los Angeles, and I met someone in June. One thing led to another, and we've been happily dating since then. They're such a lovely person, really into geology, and such a sweetheart too. I love them with every fiber of my being. I've met their parents and I really got along with them. Overall, I'm happy about our relationship. However, there's something I really want to do and I don't know what to do about it. I want to take them to meet my parents.

Problem is that I'm from Idaho (and not even Boise -- about 25 miles west of it in the boonies.) If you've even lightly been following the state of trans rights in this country these past 6 years, that should tell you what exactly the problem is. Idaho is about as much of a conservative shithole as there is in this damn country, and there are legal and safety risks coming here. Boise itself has non-discrimination ordinances, but anywhere outside of it is a no-man's land. I kinda don't have a choice in going back, but being a binary trans woman with everything legally changed (and a good degree of passability, even if not beauty) does grant me some more security in terms of this stuff actually effecting me. My partner is transfeminine non-binary with a name-changed Californian ID and an X marker. Furthermore, they're a lot physically weaker than me, so I don't know if they could protect themselves in the places I can't be should shit go south.

My family is (relatively) accepting, if slightly uneducated. Mom's about the most informed and Dad hasn't given me shit for being trans. Grandpa's also been decent to me, but my Grandma's still deep in the cult. She can't really do much of anything though because she's too old and she tends to hold her mouth around guests to my knowledge. My family can't come down to LA though -- my dad's got too many health issues to fly, and the highways (US 95, US 93, and I-15) are all snow-filled nightmares that either require chains or are closed at that time of year.

There's just so much I want to do with them in Idaho, but I don't know how or if it's even safe enough to take the risk. I want to take them to all the local restaurants, to see the Caldwell Christmas Lights, to meet my family, maybe celebrate my birthday in January, all of it. It's just... all in Idaho. I was thinking of trying to have them visit during Christmas Break (although not for Christmas itself) so that they could see me during that big 5-week gap, should they be willing.

Is it worth it? How do I keep them safe if they do decide to come?

⚠ Content Warning: parental abuse/neglect, mention of death (22M) I have likely been threatened with getting kicked out of my mother's house. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens sooner than later. Need advice and guidance Spoiler

Apologies if this is the wrong subreddit for this kind of post

I'm a 22-year-old disabled trans man who lives in Texas. I'm currently unemployed and a college dropout, and neither of my parents are happy about it. I had dropped out of community college twice and gotten fired from a 1.5-year-long job due to severe mental health issues. Although I do want to go back to college eventually, I'm working on my physical and mental health first. I have been lying to both of my parents about finding a job because neither accepted that I need to work on my health first and accused me of being lazy and not trying. Neither believe I am mentally nor physically disabled, despite having informal and formal diagnoses for both (auDHD, several mental illnesses, GERD, IBS, chronic pain, spinal stress fracture, likely more) and/or vastly underestimate how disabling my disabilities are. My mother has threatened to kick me out twice if I don't find a job or do more chores around the house. She hasn't said it directly, but she has heavily implied it. I understand her frustration with chores because I do need to help around the house more, but she refuses to cooperate on a schedule and expects me to magically do everything whenever she wants with no regard for my energy levels or ability. My father has threatened to take my car if I don't find a job, and since he payed for it in full and legally owns it, it's likely he could do so. I want to move out of my mother's house so badly, but I financially rely on my parents. If I am kicked out, it's likely I will be left with very little money, no job, and no form of transportation. I will not be able to pay for five of my six medications (two antidepressants, vyvanse, famotidine, testosterone), my psycho and physical therapy sessions, and the many doctors I've been seeing, and my general health will worsen again because of that. They will effectively be leaving me for dead, and although I don't want to believe they would do that, I can't risk ignoring the threats. Although I can and will reach out to local organizations for housing, food, health, etc., I'm afraid I will be rejected for being queer and/or disabled, considering I live in a conservative town/county. I will likely have better luck in Houston, which isn't that far from my town by car, but I wouldn't be sure how to get there besides walking if my car is taken

Generally, I just need advice and guidance with learning how to survive homelessness, queer and disability-friendly organizations to contact, and how to avoid homelessness altogether while not giving in to my parents. I never thought it would get to this point, but I'd rather be prepared to face the worse than to keep denying the reality that my parents are not good people and never truly cared for my well-being, as devastating as that is

Internalized transphobia but also not internalized transphobia?

I'm agender and realized that maybe 2 months ago. I've always supported Lgbt and am also bi. Only this year did our teachers ask for students to share pronouns if comfortable. That's when I actually confronted if I wanted to keep using she/her and realized I didn't.

I don't really feel dysphoria about my body or anything really. I just feel like I can't think of myself as any gender and when people use she/her on me I feel like I take a second to realize they are talking about me and feel kind of squeamish.

Most of my friends don't know I go by they/them now. I live in an lgbtq friendly area. I often still have thoughts like if more people know I go by they/them i might be singled out/others might think Im weird. I feel like Im kind of dreading for in the future if I get a job I will go back to using she/her. Ive had alot of thoughts about if I ever might go back on my decision of going by they/them but I really dont know why I ever would. I just messaged in my groupchat of friends I go by they/them and haven't check it but I almost feel like Im burdening them.

Like, I dont know. If disregarding the social factors I have no issue knowing Im agender or going by they/them but I just feel kind of beat down thinking of the social aspect.

Need Advice Quick question:

What's the difference between tomboy and demigirl?

I'm so sorry if I'm being offensive, but I don't know much about genders and I was wondering how can I tell if I'm a demigirl because I know, to some extend, what it means.

I know tomboy is not a gender(at least I think I know, correct me if I'm wrong), but I don't see any difference between being a tomboy and being a demigirl. So I would really appreciate some advice and maybe ways in which I can prevent being offensive on accident around said people. I'm open to criticizm!

Thank you! ❤️
