Vikings haven't faced a decent team since week 2, when CW got hurt in the fourth

• Upvotes

do we really know how good their D is? feel like we got a shot to put up a big number this week.

Dumb question: Bears, Seahawks, Cowboys getting “aggressive” before trade deadline. Why not Lions?

I don’t know why but haven’t really followed football news that much until the last 2 years. Seems like lots of trade action is happening for teams but I’m not hearing anything about Lions even though there are some holes in talent. Be nice.

Why isn't Gibbs getting the explosives?

Gibbs is the most used RB in the league, #3 in attempts despite the two guys above him having an extra game, by far the most touches per game of any RB.

And he's been great both running and catching - except his longest run this year is 22 yards, well behind the other top running backs, and he's only got 2 big runs all season.

Is this a situation where there's maybe a bit of bad luck? He's got decently high YPC, and a ton of yards after contact, so maybe he's just so talented that he overcomes poor O line play in the run game?

Hear me Out. The Colts are selling low to good teams. Sauce Gardner to the Lions for next year #1 plus Juice. We have cap, we can renegotiate a lot of contracts. Philly does it and has a SB. We are not NFL Moneyball saving profits for the Fords. Go win baby! Sauce to the Lions!

Don’t react, but give us reals ways this could work or would fail, that is not money focused for the Fords.

Saylors needs some love

Is there not enough trust in him to get snaps?

He should know our schemes well enough and he was better than many in preseason but since he is just doing returns.

They have faith for him to do Special teams and I wonder why we dont add him in with Vaki. Get 3 guys in like when we had Ameer, Joique, and Theo in 2015?

Ameer (143 carries/22 catches) and Joique (90 carries/22 catches) split runs and Theo (43 carries/80 catches) on passing downs. (Shout out to Zach Zenner as a rookie with 17 Carries for 60 yds too)

Gibbs and Saylors on runs and Vaki and Gibbs on passing downs.

‐---- Preseason for Saylors

2nd highest in yds at 187, first was 189. 1 of 3 guys that had a 100 yd game Able to handle work as he had 31 snaps across 3 games which in preseason was 7th most. 5th for avg per attempt at 6.0, that is with 2 having only 8 attempts and the other 2nd and 3rd had 8 less attempts than Saylors.

I feel he produced enough to earn SOME time at least

What have you all got? Grabbing a free agent? Trade somewhere? Wait another 8-10 weeks for Pacheco? Or Some more Vaki and Saylors?

Also will Kye come back or is he injury retired at this point lol

Vikings Game

I’ve decided to become a psychic so here’s how the game goes:

The Vikings D ends Goff’s INT-less streak (boo)

We win and end the Vikings loss-less streak (yay)

This is my prophecy. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

It's not the trade deadline yet. It's still 2 weeks away.

This is for those of you who keep posting in fear that Brad isn't doing anything. This is just a normal day, aside from the fact that the Colts are selling a few players.

Once again...

It is not the trade deadline.

Gibbs usage this year. 166 total touches 134 carries and 32 carries putting him on pace for almost 500 touches.

He leads the league in carries which has him tied for 1st with 9 touchdowns. l We all know the average running back has a 3.5 year stay in the NFL. With all the weapons on this offense doesn't it seem like an lot of touches? I heard someone make the comparison of buying a new car and driving petal to the metal and blowing out the engine in a few years. I know he is an amazing player and you want to get the ball in his hands as much as possible but it seems like the Lions are playing with fire with all these touches. Hell the most touches Barry had in a year was 380 his final season. He averaged 341 touches per year and still did pretty good for himself. There were some pretty good offenses back with then with Moore,Morton and Perriman but nothing like the Lions are today.

Christian Mahogany has significantly improved out of no where

Dude has legit gone from average to potentially a pro bowler never seen a transformation this fast. Now Blake Miller is the weak link but I’m not worried about him improving. Need to put Scruggs at center for the Vikings imo if they can’t run the ball effectively they’re gonna get cooked

Image GO GET THIS MAN

Post image

charvarius ward, good teetering on great former all pro corner for the colts who i really think could surge with a change of scenery. his entire resume is built on man which is the identity of this team. is in contract thru 2027. 2026 hit would be 5mil, 2027 hit would be 24 mil if he gets ALL his incentives, which he likely won’t. could easily go for a 5/6th.

for everyone who’ll say we won’t be able to take him, resign laporta, and branch, you’re wrong. we have 95 million in cap next year, roughly. worst case scenario with how much laporta and branch ask in relevance to their position we’d be left with about 30 million, but take that with a grain of salt cuz of incentives or maybe a franchise tag on laporta.

EDIT: forgot to mention, but yes he is 30. so likely retires after the end of next year. still, for a sixth, be fills a hole with an all-pro ceiling. let’s not act like your athleticism just falls off a cliff when your age starts with 3.

Seeing Kerby put out these tweets is really making me hopeful

Making me think he really might play this year. Kerby I'm praying for ya man. Come back. If you come back this year, the Lions genuinely have a Super Bowl caliber defense and there isn't a team in the NFC I could see beating them at that point.

Can’t believe the refs missed two field goals on Sunday night

It’s insane that the refs actually went out and missed two field goals, dropped a touchdown pass in the end zone, missed a 4th and goal opportunity and threw an interception to Brian Branch. It’s getting out of control. I don’t know if I can keep watching

Lions Bars in Chicago

I will be in Chicago this weekend and want to watch the Lions game on Sunday. I've heard that Tin Lizzie, Duffy's, and The Pony Inn are Lions bars in the city.

Has anyone been to any of these establishments? Is there a difference in their atmosphere?
