Discussion The Panthers' defense has not forced a turnover in the last 4 games.

The last time the Panthers' defense took the ball away from their opponent was Week 2 against Atlanta, when they logged 3 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries. Since then, nothing.

The Panthers as a team have only taken the ball away once in that 4-game span, which includes an active streak of 3 games without generating any turnovers other than via downs. The team's only takeaway in the last 4 games came on Special Teams, when Thomas Incoom recovered a fumble on a kickoff to start the 2nd half against the Browns.

The Panthers have forced either 1 or 2 fumbles in this span. Bucky Irving fumbled in the 2nd quarter against the Bucs, obviously recovered by the Bucs. PFR lists the Eagles game as having a fumble, but no player from the Eagles is charged with a fumble and I can't find it in the game logs, so I don't know if that's correct.

Discussion Insane Stat From Sunday: In the entire known history of the NCAA and NFL a team has never muffed a punt, had a fumble returned for a TD against them, and had a blocked extra point in a single half of football.

Discussion I don’t understand this fan base

You’d think Dave had two horrible seasons with the shit you see online about him. People just need to get it through their heads that you aren’t going to get what you want out of Dave’s press conference. He isn’t going to bash anyone and he’s going to give you coach speak. The objective of the pressers isn’t to make you feel better.

Dave took over after a year this franchise should have won 0 games. They won 2 games leading exactly 0:00 minutes of the game on game winning kicks. Took that team and improved them to 5 wins. Then took that team and improved them to 8 wins. People need to step away from the ledge.

The DC? You can go after him. He’s had his chances and he’s failed multiple times. Canales was forced to take him on when he came in so who knows how much say he has in letting him go or not.

Question Sideline Penalty on the Blocked FG

Has it been clarified what was the cause of the penalty on the blocked FG return? Referee said Panthers sideline. 15 yard penalty forced us to kick from the 20.

Discussion Anyone else feeling weirdly good about TNF?

Last game was absolutely a wake up call, but one thing I’ve noticed is that this team is able to adapt to those calls. I’m not saying it’ll be easy we will absolutely have to fight for it (and Akaykeb Evans will still be his usual awful self) but I have this gut feeling that this team can stun the word Thursday! KEEP POUNDING! 🖤💙🖤💙🖤💙

(Also as someone who’s second team is the Packers I’ve lost all hope in MLF, and this game would be a double win for me cause it’d be one step closer to him getting fired.)

Discussion Todd Walsh-coached DLs have been responsible for 23 games allowing 200+ rush yards since 2020

• Upvotes

Jaguars (2020): 4 games Lions (21-22): 7 games Panthers (23-26): 12 games

Obviously Evero still needs to go but I think the entire defensive coaching staff needs to be addressed

Discussion Just a conversation.

I’m just here to vent as a fan, and share my experience and opinions on this Sunday. I’m not here to rehash the game, I just want to vent overall. I’m not saying any facts either, this is just what I feel and see. Not many friends I have are panthers fans so it’s useless venting to them.

Adjustments. Adjustments. Finally, adjustments. This is something that is really starting to grind my gears about this team to the point where I’m questioning the decisions of the coaching staff weekly. I understand we have issues with health at corner, at o line, at a lot of positions, but the lack of adjustments truly is something to behold.

We are not the only team, and it’s been a topic of conversation in the NFL for as long as I remember. There’s a weird infatuation with NOT benching starters, and keeping them in and allowing them to play badly - when they clearly are not what the teams needs. This is much more blatant at QB with most teams but with EVERY position we have.

We can talk about Evan’s all we want too, he is an issue, but why didn’t we attempt to change ANY players on Sunday? Were down at half time and we come back out with the same lineup, what???? Not saying bench Bryce or Coker or anyone like that, but if we are struggling containing the run wouldn’t you want to maybe stack the line up more or the box? Maybe not play Deep cover 3 with the same players missing assignments and tackles. Maybe I’m just ignorant, maybe I don’t understand how difficult NFL playbooks are and how difficult it’s to adjust during a game. But like 0 adjustments????

I don’t think Dave should be fired, but I think his methods need to be called into question. I’m so tired of the nice guy PR act, we got obliterated and all you do is congratulate the other team and stand on stage saying “I like the play calls”. Yeah, so did the Bucs, the browns, and the bears. Show some fucking fire in your face, stop trying to be some “Good guy who is tough but nice” just be a football coach.

The season is no where close to being over, I don’t believe we are done, we have to respond, but the fact of the matter is the question no longer is “are the panthers a real team” now it’s “how long till they implode again and loose by 30+ points” - I hope to see a big defensive shake up in the off season, if we don’t then Dave needs to be apart of the big shake up and find a new coaching gig. I think this a fair, good time like and he’s gotten a large chunk of time to improve, we haven’t won any +.500 games, we barley have won any were favorites, and at least 4-5 times per year we look like a fucking joke.

Okay, I feel much better, Bryce for MVP and Coke heads unite. Keep pounding.

Analysis [SI] Grading Bryce Young in Carolina Panthers' Horrific Loss to Buccaneers: Young was also sacked 5 times, which isn't fully on him because he was under pressure basically the entire game, being pressured on over 68% of dropbacks.

Thumbnail

Bryce Young's time to pressure faced by week, per @SumerSports:

\* Wk 7: 2.42

\* Wk 6: 2.54

\* (Wk 5 bye)

\* Wk 4: 2.58

A quick pressure is defined as under 2.5 seconds. That means Bryce averaged a quick pressure on every drop back in week 7. Prior to week 7 Bryce was second in the league in drop backs under pressure despite having an early bye - hes been pressured 83 times this season with another 16 added this week.

With Panthers RT getting ankle season injury and going out from the game except more pressure on Mr Young

Team News [Person] Panthers have a lot to clean up — pass protection, run D — and little time to do it

Thumbnail

If the Panthers want to avoid another letdown, there are three things they need to clean up over the next two days.

1. The pass protection

Young has faced heavy pressure for much of the season. But until recently, the fourth-year QB had done a nice job making off-platform throws and extending plays by finding open receivers on scrambles.

But that wasn’t the case Sunday when Young was sacked a season-high five times while facing a blitz rate of 26 percent and a pressure rate similar to what he’d seen the first five weeks, according to SumerSports’ Lindsay Rhodes. Through Sunday’s afternoon games, Young’s expected points added/pass of minus-.71 was the lowest among all quarterbacks in Week 7.

“He does a great job of getting the ball to guys in voids. And he’s been having success with it,” Canales said. “I think the last couple of weeks, it’s been a little bit of a challenge to get those completions versus pressure. But it’s something he’s excelled in.”Canales said he and play caller Brad Idzik would build in some early, quicker passing options for Young, who lost three turnovers against the Bucs, including a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.

The Panthers have allowed the third-highest pressure rate (44 percent) in the league this year. It should help that they’re facing a Packers team without Micah Parsons, who’s still recovering from ACL surgery.

The Packers rank in the middle of the pack with 16 sacks. Then again, the Bucs entered Sunday’s game with only 11 sacks in their first six games.

2. The run defense

The Panthers are the only team to give up 250 rushing yards this season, and they’ve done so twice. On a day when Baker Mayfield only attempted 11 passes, the Bucs gashed Carolina for 258 yards on the ground, dropping the Panthers from 27th to last in the league in rush defense.

Discussion In franchise history prior to 2026, the Panthers have allowed an opponent to score 40+ points at home just 3 times. Less than halfway into the 2026 season, they've allowed 40+ points at home twice.
