Why do a lot of big leaguers not use a two strike approach?

Two strike approach meaning choking up, widening out the stance, etc.
I noticed quite a few big leaguers don’t really change their swing on two strikes. But I was always taught that playing ball and it seems to work.

Labor Lesson of 2026

Taking a look at this World Series, and the playoffs, and the season in general, there is a clear answer to the current labor negotiations:
There needs to be a SALARY FLOOR!
A salary cap isn't needed. Certainly, combining a good front office and a large payroll (Dodgers ahem) is going to be successful. But mostly, large contracts are about signing stars for making more money on the buzz. The teams in the Series aren't quite breaking the bank. Quality talent exists and often doesn't get the chance.
The real difference is playing quality baseball, intelligently, with good preparation. I'm willing to bet that half or more of these teams in the Series are relatively unknown by the average or casual fan. Heck, I love and watch baseball a ton, and I've been needing to look a good number of these guys up!
Baseball needs a salary floor. Somewhere in the $150M-$175M range for 2026-27.
(Healthy disclaimer: consumer prices should be indexed to inflation since we give these folks so much tax money for stadiums, infrastructure, and so much else. Interested owners should increase the profit-sharing pool to add to their margins, not pull from players or us fans.)
