Hey everyone! I've shared pictures of my axolotls with you a few times, but there's been a question on my mind for a while now...
They arrived here when they were really tiny. They didn't even have their hind legs yet, and their front legs had barely started developing.
I'd estimate they were around 10 to 15 days old when I got them, and they were about 3 cm long. Today, they're almost at the two-month mark of living with me, and my babies are already measuring 12 cm!!!
And they're not even 3 months old yet! I always see people posting pictures of their 6-, 7-, or 8-month-old axolotls measuring around 12–13 cm, but mine have already reached that size, and they seem to be growing more and more every single day.
Could it be because I feed them too much? LMAO 😂
Jokes aside, I've done a lot of research and always try to provide them with the best possible diet in terms of nutrition. I've noticed that many people continue feeding their axolotls bloodworms even when they're already juveniles, and we know how nutritionally inadequate bloodworms become as a staple food, especially as axolotls get older.
This is my biggest question right now: are my axolotls growing at a normal rate? Are other people's axolotls just growing more slowly, or are mine going to turn into giant axolotls and take over my country? 😂🦎
