Showing Off My Tank My Dream Aquarium has grown in beautifully
This is my 4 foot aquarium that has become my favourite thing to look at in my house. So far its stocked with 12 rummy nose Tetras, 12 diamond tetras, 12 pepper corys, 3 emon custard plecos and 3 bristlenose plecos with my 2 new favourite fish my German blue rams. After a few months its finally grown in to a point I'm super happy.

Advice Needed Ancient Aquarium??
I've had the idea to build an aquarium with plants and creatures that look prehistoric or could pass as such. I would love to have a small prehistoric marsh or ocean I could take care of if I could. I know for a fact that Triops fit the bill to a T but I'm not sure what else I could reasonably add that wouldn't overcrowd the tank or over-predate the other. I don't want to build until I have a reasonably thought out plan. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Showing Off My Tank clueless 17 y/o tries reefing:
I've done freshwater before, but this was my first time establishing a saltwater tank. I went in with basically zero knowledge about reef tanks. I know my corals aren't particularly hard to keep, but I'm happy with how it has turned out! :)
Stocking: pair of clownfish, 6 hermit crabs, 1 emerald crab, 1 trochus snail

Advice Needed Endler breeding
My big tank has started to get to the lower end of a happy group, mostly due to old age.
Previously ive just bought more males to top up numbers. But with so few people breeding the ones i want its hard reliably to find healthy animals.
So now im debating trying to source some females instead and getting into breeding them myself.
Ive never bread animals before irl, so i dont really know where to start what to do, not to do, or even if its a good idea or not.
Would be looking at the santa Maria morph, endler guppy, because theyre my favourite. Uk based.

Advice Needed Are these Stono Morokos?
Someone left them in a bucket behind a dumpster, saw them when I was taking out trash.
I used to have aquariums before but I cannot identify these fish. There were 18 in total and one of them died (the one on the tissue paper).
A friend identified them as Stone Morokos, ChatGPT is telling me they are invasive and illegal in Europe.
Wondering what to do with them.
Looking for

Advice Needed Vorticella, scutariella or just normal shrimp
Trying my luck here.
Totally new shrimp keeper here!
I got 11 red rili 4 days ago; put them in a tank thats been cycling for a bit over a month.
They have been a joy to watch. While staring at them yesterday, i noticed some of them have this kind of white fuzz at their mouth area. Quick panicked research tells me it could be vorticella or scutariella, but im also thinking that maybe i am over interpreting it and its actually a normal feature of shrimp and i just haven't noticed before.
Their only roommates are some pest snails that hitchhiked along some plants.

Showing Off My Tank Update: 2.5gal rimless Monte Carlo carpet post-flood (Dry Start Method results + adding shrimp!)
Hey everyone! Quick update on my 2.5-gallon rimless tank after taking some advice on the dry start method and flooding it back on September 25th.
The Carpet: The Monte Carlo has transitioned well to being fully submerged. The runners are creeping out, and the patches are starting to merge and thicken up nicely across the aquavitro soil.
New Additions: I've introduced some red cherry shrimp to help clean things up—they seem to love hanging out around the driftwood and taller stems!
Current Specs: Still running pressurized CO2 with a glass diffuser and keeping an eye on the drop checker. Moved the diffuser next to the filter outflow.
Looking for advice:
Since it's filling in well, do you think I should give the carpet a light trim now to encourage more horizontal runner growth, or should I let it get a bit denser first?

Discussion Powered Gravel vac - a game changer
Fam, I was at a thrift store on Saturday and they had a nicrew three in one power vac. It was $3, so i figured I would buy it, expecting honestly very little from it. When I got it home, I decided to give it a try since I was over due for a water change. My god this thing is so cool. I had a similar product back in the 90s, but it was battery powered and was frankly a piece of junk. This thing plugs into an outlet and can fill a five gallon bucket in about 2 minutes. Plus it has a cool feature where you can vacuum the water and return the filtered water back into tank without having to do an actual water change.
I can’t seem to find where you can buy it online, but I imagine there’s several clone products on Amazon.
I know a python is probably a better solution, but for those people where that isn’t practical, this product definitely fills in as an in between solution.
10/10 would buy again.

Solved! What are these little white things in my tank:(
I noticed these a of couple days ago, but didn’t think anything of it. I looked this morning and I could tell there was a bit more. I took a few out to see what they looked like, they were kinda stuck on. They don’t look like snail eggs, but maybe im wrong? Wth are they??😭
A couple weeks ago I brought my tank over to my new place, got the water cycled, and then added my fish. About 6 days ago, I brought home 5 guppies (all male) in my 10 gal.
I had tons of snails in my tank before I moved.. I threw everything away and bought new stuff.. minus the heater. I scrubbed and honestly hosed down my tank to get all the snail eggs off the glass.
In my tank - I have 3 little algae eaters, 5 male guppies, and 2 mixed nerite snails

Identification Request Creatures swimming around cycling new tank
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
About a week ago i started setting up my new tank and i’ve had the water cycling. This morning my dad noticed some creatures swimming around. There’s genuinely at least 89 of those things. It’s freaky. They look like little sperms and i’m not sure how to get rid of them.
response to tense comment thread: i won’t be battling betas DO NOT WORRY i was making a silly joke that did not land for the plethora of PETA ppl. Gonna go pick up a few guppies and let them feast since I wanted them in my tank anyways! I am not a bad person 😇🙈

Advice Needed What in the fk is this????
I was minding my own business propagating my plants in my tank, when all of a sudden i see this clump of what i THOUGHT was sand…. It was not, i went to brush it off and it was solid like plastic??
Its on the roots of my plant, and i don’t want to touch it if its dangerous to my fish
My tank has neons, guppies, cherry shrimp, mystery snails, and trumpet snails. From what i know this is not usual for any of those to do, what is this???

Beginner Help Is my tank finally cycled?
Tank was cycling for a couple weeks stuck at 2ppm ammonia (I added Fritz fishless fuel ammonia source). Today I did a 50% water change which would have diluted this to around 1PPM, and added an established canister filter - this is the results 4 hours later. I was told adding my other established canister would “instantly” cycle the tank. Thoughts? My fish are struggling to fit in their other tank, this was their upgraded tank and I desperately need to move them over sooner than later.
First photo is flash, second is no flash.

Identification Request Who’s these guys?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m about 3 weeks into cycling my tank prepping for some shrimp. Tonight we were just looking at the tank and noticed there’s HELLA SHIT in it!
A floating golden snail, a bunch of little squirmy worms that do a wild dance, and tiny little things that are too small for me to identify.
HALP.

Advice Needed Green substrate?!
I got this tank second hand, it came with the substrate/ plastic plants
I kept the substrate that was in it and planted my own real plants. But since I’ve had it (4 weeks) I’ve noticed it going green / discoloured in some patches and it’s bothering me. The fish and shrimp are fine happy and the plants are all doing well
I’m new to fish keeping, can I change the substrate now that I have real plants?
I wanted to also change it to something softer for my corys, they don’t mind it but I’d rather have something better for them.
Also why is it doing this, am I doing something wrong?
(Also this tank had fish in it but when they died over time I was gifted this tank, with one remaining fish who is doing well still which is why I kept the substrate in and the same filter)
