Just had the worst appointment I’ve ever had

19 yr female. ever since I was 11 I’ve had strange “spells” or “episodes” with my heart that result in dizziness, chest fluttering, nausea, vision going white, weakness etc. all the fun things and on one occasion when I didn’t sit down soon enough: a seizure. i recently just started pursuing a diagnosis or some kind of clarity on the problem around two months ago. I’ve had a few appointments, an er visit, and a heart monitor. I went to the cardiologist today and was absolutely flabbergasted by the level of condescension. He said young girls js do that when they stand up their blood pressure can drop or spike and it’s normal. And to js live with it and drink water. and that its probably all coming from the 6 medicines I take for PMDD and PCOS. Mind you, I’ve taken all these meds for years for my PCOS, nothing has changed and I had the symptoms before getting meds. And he said to cut back on my meds because there’s no way I need two antidepressants. My fiance tried to stand up for me and said I’ve had this for years and he proceeded to raise his voice to say ”ok but she’s on SIX MEDICATIONS at 19. She does not need all those. obviously it’s not just the medicines but it’s a large part of it” then he continued rambling about how it’s just the medicine. then he told me to cut back on my meds and make sure I ”actually have PCOS and need any meds” he contradicted himself 100 times during the appointment and I left just feeling defeated and brushed off. My heart monitor results showed abnormalities, but he daid that was “a small episode that likely was coincidence and wouldn’t happen again”

the whole thing felt so dismissive and the way he spoke to me felt very sexist. I don’t know what my next step is. I’m still facing these symptoms and it’s affecting me every day

cramping after being fingered

So the other day hooked up w a guy when I was drunk..not my best choice but, he tried to put it in raw which I wasn’t really messing with, I was too tight anyway so it didn’t go in, but it did almost happen. all he ended up doing though was fingering me (which hurt) and eating me out, but now I have cramps and stomach pain which I’m lowkey scared about. this is also only like my second time ever engaging in anything remotely sexual w another person, the first time wasn’t any better but it didn’t leave me with cramps or anything. I just wanna know what it could mean.

Feel so sick and right sided pelvic pain.

Hi guys i recently had a pelvic ultrasound that does not need a follow up and FBC that needs a follow up.

I cant get an appt until the 10th of november with mh GP but the feeling sick is so bad ive had four kids and was so sick with my last i had really bad mornig sickness until she was born.

This is so much worse im not vomitting as of yet but last night the neighbours were cooking something i cant even type what it reminded me of as it makes me feel to sick to say.

I had to shut all the windows and door and put incense on.

I could still smell it this morning its vile.

So im wondering what else it could be?

Im eating saos to help but just cant deal with any smells or things that a gross eg my finger had an injury recently and i cant look at it.

Its so strange as ive not had this unless pregnant.

I am def not pregnant.

I thought it was a cyst as the pain matches from recent cysts ive had this year.

I never felt sick though.

The pain is the dull ache hurts more while moving and stretching i do yoga i had to force myself to do it today as ive been feeling to sick to and i used to do it everyday.

My urine looks fine i am very tired and grumpy and have a history of high LFTS and gallbladder polyps still present..what can the GP do i cant go on like this.

Anyone had this happen and it be something else?

I also have pain down my leg and did have bad lower back pain that side.

Painkillers are not helping and ginger travel calm does nothing either

Transvaginal ultrasound question

Hi, I’m 21 and have a transvaginal ultrasound scheduled in about a month to determine the cause of a month long period I’ve been dealing with. I’m a virgin and don’t even use tampons and am curious if anyone has had one done under the same/similar circumstances and would be willing to share their experience or give me any advice. I’m aware that I have the option to get one done over my stomach but would honestly just prefer getting the best imaging possible on my first try in the hopes that I can get answers sooner rather than later. Really any advice would be appreciated ❤️

Cranberry juice for UTI prevention?

I know it’s been considered for a long time 100% cranberry juice helps prevent UTIs, do you feel that way? What about 100% cran-grape? Straight cranberry gives me a sore throat

Had an mri for possible endo with none spotted so doc says my “ovaries might be overreactive”. what does that mean?

• Upvotes

I have had really bad pelvic pain for years, like ending up in the hospital unable to walk or stand up straight from how bad the pain is. I’ve gone to multiple obgyns and been told it’s : gas, my iud being misplaced, after it was replaced and i still had pain it was that my uterus is “too small”, a different gyno after that said my uterus is a normal size and maybe it’s endo or lesions/fibroids but would need laparoscopy, and when i went to my current gyno he said my symptoms were textbook endometriosis symptoms and ordered and mri with contrast after my ultrasound didn’t show anything. Mri also didn’t show anything so when i followed up on my results he said that it could be my ovaries are “overreactive” and shook my hand and told me to have a nice day. Does anyone know what he could mean by that?

My Mri noted that i had multiple follicles on my ovaries which i think is normal before ovulation, so i don’t know what he could be basing that comment off of. I was very upset at how the appointment went and wanted to leave as soon as he tried to shake my hand so i didn’t ask any follow up questions. Thanks :)

Driving home after hysteroscopy and biopsy

• Upvotes

Consultant says I can drive myself there and back.

I am expecting the worst possible pain known to man having read people’s experiences on here despite my gynaecologist telling me that it is NOT as painful as childbirth.

I asked if I should expect to feel extremely high levels of pain throughout the entire procedure. They said it will be for seconds.

Do I need to get a taxi there and back?

Any advice gratefully received!

Period lasting for weeks

F(20)

Currently on my 3rd week of my period???

It’s light, not heavy. Not that much pain just a bit of discomfort here and there that lasts a few minutes.

So I saw of comments of women being in the same situation but they waited it out instead of going to the doctor.

Currently broke af. So I’m trying to wait this out but I am concerned.

If this happened to you, what did you guys do to end the period or what did your doctors say about this?

Shaving causing urinal infection

Every time I shave my pubic area completely, even though I’m careful and wash with a mild soap, I develop the early signs of a urinary tract infection. It burns and it's soooo annoying.

I’m thinking of stopping shaving completely as soon as my boyfriend comes round, but he doesn’t like body hair; I feel as though my vulva doesn’t even belong to me anymore when I think about it... I do it for him, not because I want to...

Any advices concerning the infection issue tho?

Anyone else have an irregular cycle for no apparent reason?

Looking at what I have tracked, my cycle never really regulated. I guess it started getting close to it when I was about 17, but I still had random cycles over 40 and under 25 days, and all relatively light for what I've heard. At the time I had an evil doctor for lack of a better term, so I didn't want to deal with it. After I got my wisdom teeth removed just before 18, it completely stopped being anywhere near predictable. I got a new doctor who tested me for everything under the sun, and nothing came out conclusive. She had me wait about 6 cycles after the surgery to see if it would get back on track but everything after that surgery was 50–60 days except one random 20 day cycle. I'm in birth control now (which I was planning on getting on anyways) and have been for close to a year, doing fine, but still think it's so strange. She had multiple blood work and urine panels done in that time period and an ultrasound, everything came back fine. It's just weird and everyone I've seen online always had some sign for some answer they got eventually.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is the lack of a solid reason going to come back to bite me when I'm older? Or might it just reappear normal if I stop taking bc?

Ovarian cyst rupture?

Hiiii! So I have been experiencing pretty significant abdominal pain for three days now. I had some spotting last week as well. I went to my gyno yesterday and they confirmed that I had a cyst on my left ovary and fluid in my pelvis and they assume it’s a ruptured cyst causing me pain, and they will follow up in a WEEK🙃 it is day three and I’m still in a decent amount of pain. I just feel weak overall. I haven’t been able to eat or drink much. I just feel heavy and achy. Has anybody had experience with this? Are these normal symptoms for a ruptured cyst or could it be something else? How long did it take before you felt better?

wearing tampon before vaginal swap?

Hey, so I did a vaginal swab a few weeks back for STDs and all came back negative but now I’m scared that it was false negativ because I wore a tampon about 1 hour before getting the swab done. I’m unsure if that can soak up the bacteria and falsify the test? Does anyone know or have any experiences?

Thanks in advance :)

Tired of doctors saying… everything is alright

• Upvotes

I haven’t had my period in 3 months, and he would not give me an ultrasound or refer me to a gynaecologist. All he said was I would have to go back on birth control again and i really don’t want too but my body feels heavy right now.

Vaginal wetness/laxity

• Upvotes

I am 35F never been pregnant.

In the past 2 years I've gone from combination pill to progesterone only pill before deciding to go back to natural hormones (with copper coil protection) since July 2026.

Recently my vagina feels soooo loose and I never had this problem before, I also get extremely wet. Like so much so I don't have any friction or feeling.

Why is this? STD checks are coming back negative, I've never been pregnant, haven't lost sufficient weight, keep active and healthy - I'm fit and slim - but sex is wayyy too loose/lubricated now and my partner is wondering wtf too (he's kind and supportive, but we've noticed a lot of lube from me).

Why would this be? I understand changing hormonal contraception twice in the past 2 years could cause hormonal fluctuations but I thought by now it would have leveled out again. Im so annoyed and it's impacting my sex life.

Irritated vulvar

Whenever I wipe, I notice that the skin around my vulva and perineum peels (I see the skin flakes on the tissue). The area often feels irritated, raw, and sensitive, although sometimes I don’t experience any discomfort. Even when there are no symptoms, I can still see some discoloration.
I’ve tried booking an appointment with a dermatologist, but the earliest availability isn’t until March. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what might be causing this?

What happens during first gynae visit?

I'm 18 years old. I've always had irregular periods but this time I haven't had my periods for 3 months. I'm not sexually active. I have horrible pain and vomiting during that time of the month.

I'm scared to go to a gynaecologist...

I have no idea what happens during first visit. I've read scary experiences of women having pap smear...Is the gynae gonna ask me if I masturbate? 😭

Pls share ur experiences it'll help me so much

Blood After Intercourse (Not First Time and No Pain)?

Hello, has anyone ever experienced this? After intercourse, there was blood that dripped out of me. I'm saying like period-like blood and not like a little smudge of blood. It was bright red and genuinely I thought it was my period. For context, I am irregular and my supposed period was on early october (The whole 5 days were spotting and there was 1 day in the middle where it happened the exactly the same, blood dripped out of me. But that was it? Exactly 1 drop then i was hella dry) Additional context, when he tried putting it in me, it kind of sting? hurt?, which always happen i guess but I doubt it's because of that? since I always felt it before but not to the point it looked like i was on my period. I have also washed it after and it didn't hurt or it wasnt sore. I joked that maybe he f****d the period out of me. Is that possible lmao? Or is there something worse to worry abt.

0.35 mg of Norethindrone

I began taking 0.35 mg of the Norethindrone mini BC pill every day since August 2nd of this year. Today is October 28th, so I’m aware it hasn’t been that long. I take it loosely in the 3 hr window.

I am also simultaneously taking Spironolactone, as the birth control causes really bad acne for me. I have tried the IUD in the past for almost two years, but had to remove it due to extremely horrendous side effects (acne, depression really bad, weight gain, dryness). We discovered I basically have a progesterone sensitivity. I gave my body multiple months after that to re-regulate itself before hopping back on BC. As of today, I’m still getting a monthly period. I am also getting spotting a couple days after my period ends for 5-7 days. It’s medium level spotting. It is super annoying, as it feels like I’m bleeding literally all the time (my periods are long to begin with).

How much longer should I expect this brown spotting / a period? I’m aware not everyone loses their period but it’s sure my hope lol. Preferably in November as I have a lot of plans happening. Anyone have suggestions or any similar experiences? Thank you 🙏

help me please

hello everyone! i had potentially unprotected sex around 20 days ago and it was my first time. i took a morning after pill 6-8 hours after and got my period 10 days early. my period finished on the 18th, and i havent had any symptoms untill a few days ago.

my urine is a little cloudy, and i have burning around my vaginal opening, but not while i urinate. the burning is not persistent, it is there sometimes and i feel like it got better over the past few days. i suppose that this might be due to dryness or irritation. i need any kind of advice on what you think this might be.

also, if you are wondering how on earth i have no idea if the sex was unprotected, it was not consentual. i have no idea how on earth i made him use a condom at some point at all, and i have no idea if the penetration happened without it.

Vulva pain when peeing

It started last night after peeing it didn't feel anything until I washed the area off I felt pain on my vulva and I felt something on the skin not outside the vulva but inner part.

Today, when I pee it starting hurting like it burns or like stabbing pain and itchyness around it. I washed it off directly using bidet because it's so itchy and It suddenly became really painful and started bleeding. Now it doesn't hurt anymore. The bleeding stopped.

What should I put on it or take for it to heal? And for how long. Thank you.

Idk what my options are or I'm just indecisive

About 2 years ago I (19F) went to the gyno for the first time and she did the usual just take the pill thing. She saw my scars and we talked about my (not so good but not that bad) mental health and basically I got a pill that acts as an antidepressant (but it's also the most basic one you can get?). Every time I took the break I was mentally extremely sensitive and down and so "we" decided to just take it without the breaks, which I was fine with and enjoyed. About a year into it I didn't really want to continue (I had just broken up with my bf and didn't see a reason to continue the hassle) anyway, first period that comes I pass out from the pain and I've never felt so bad mentally in my life. After a month I just get back onto it.

Now a year later I'm not so happy with the thought of being mentally dependent on a pill? At the same time I don't want to pursue a therapist because I feel like it's just a little period of rehabilitation (from the pill) that I need and that then I'd be fine? I went to the gyno today and it was a different woman than the one I had spoken to. She was kinda rude and I started crying because all she did was make me feel stupid because I literally have no options. I don't want to stop the pill because I don't want to get my period back but I don't want to be dependent on it either? She didn't offer me anything. I was crying in front of her and she just said that I have no reason to stop taking it or changing the pill because it works just fine. That I'm completely fine whilst I'm just there crying in front of her? Like? Idk what my options are or if it's even worth asking for a second opinion because I'm indecisive by myself.
