Had an interaction today that I genuinely don't know how to process.
I was picking an OPU with about 9 minutes left on the timer when a guest stopped me looking for a specific storage bin. No problem. Looked it up on my Zebra, told her which aisle it should be in.
She wanted me to go check the back because apparently she'd already looked there. I told her I could call someone from GM to help since I needed to finish my pickup order.
She looks at my cart and goes, "Why can't you just check?"
Me: "I'm on a timed order right now."
Her: "But those customers aren't even here."
I thought I'd misunderstood her.
Me: "They're still customers. They ordered this stuff for pickup."
Her: "Well, I'm actually standing here."
I genuinely had nothing to say to that.
Called GM, let her know someone was coming to help, and went back to my batch. Finished with 38 seconds left.
I don't mind helping guests. I stop to help people all day. But I had never considered that some people look at fulfillment TMs and apparently think we're just doing a little scavenger hunt for imaginary customers.
Ma'am, I am not pushing this three-tier around the store for the cardio.
