Other topic If you never struggled with suicidal ideation…

Don’t comment on suicidal people’s post. Don’t tell them they’re going to hell for it, stop making mentally ill people feel worse than how they already feel.

You don’t understand the struggle, the heavy weight, the pain it is to wake up every day. If you’ve never been through that then why are you commenting on a post about it?

And stop making it seem like Allah wouldn’t understand, He is the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, the All Seeing. How can you be so sure He would condemn to hell a suffering soul? It’s sickening how some people think they know what Allah would do or think. Stop talking like you are Allah, you are not and you certainly aren’t compassionate enough.

To my brothers and sisters who struggle with themselves everyday, I understand you, I have felt the same for over a decade. But, as a revert Muslim, who barely knows anything about Islam because I’m so new to it, I know Allah knows your pain, sees your suffering, He isn’t mad at you, He understands you. Do not despair of His mercy, do not despair of His help. He knows what your heart conceals, what you can’t say out loud.

Support/Advice I can’t stop feeling like a hypocrite

• Upvotes

I grew up in a non practicing household, so it was a struggle growing up as a Muslim and trying to keep myself in check. Eventually around high school I thought I had it all figured out. I wore the hijab, prayed all my salahs plus the sunnah, and read Quran every single night before bed. I didn’t have any opposite gender friends, didn’t curse, I practically did everything right to the point where if someone said anything bad about me no one would believe them. I was held at such a high standards since then. And I can’t stop feeling like a hypocrite for it because I am not that person anymore.

I stopped praying, and recently started talking to a guy, a Muslim man. I thought it was all cool and stuff because we both had the same final goal, marriage. But we ended up eventually sexting and exchanging nudes. My brain still can’t process what I did. And I can’t stop feeling this guilt. He still says he loves me and that he wants to marry me regardless. He also regrets it. He said he’ll bring his parents next week to meet mine. And we’ll go from there. I am aware Allah forgives all sins but i genuinely can’t forgive myself, especially since everyone around me still hold me at such high regards.

Everyone still come and ask me for religious advice, and if their iman is low in the one who they come too. Parents hold me as the standards. Even the imam at my masjid praised me the other day for my modesty especially in our day and time. I feel like I am deceiving everyone, like I didn’t hold my values. I don’t even want to wear the hijab anymore because every time I put it on before leaving the house I can’t help but feel like I’m a hypocrite who doesn’t even deserve to be a Muslim. I can’t even bring myself to pray out of embarrassment of standing in front of Allah after I did what I did. I don’t know what to do, I just want Allah to take my soul and throw me into jahanam before I commit any more sins.

You miss your prayer like it's nothing. "I will start praying later". What if there is no later. How are you soo sure you have time to change. Salah is the second pillar of Islam. Why are you treating it like

it's not a big deal. you can't even give Allah 5 mins. While Allah is still giving you time.

Go Pray

Discussion Brother and sisters. PLEASE MAY ALLAH BE PLEASED WITH YOU. READ THIS. PLEASE.

As-salamu alaykum brothers and sisters, I’m typing this with tears in my eyes because my family has reached our absolute breaking point. My father has poured everything into trying to move abroad, but every door keeps closing, and watching my family suffer like this is breaking me. There is nothing Allah cannot do—He owns the earth and every path. Please, I beg you from the bottom of my heart, take just one second to make a sincere dua for Allah to work a miracle and open a way for my father instantly within this year. Please write 'Ameen' for us; your one prayer might be the answer we need. May Allah answer your deepest prayers, too. 🥺🙏

Please. Just pray for me with your whole heart ! 😭

Question why do a lot of christian preacher's full time job is to talk about islam than Christianity ? 😂

Hi, i watch debates and religious talks ex: street dawah, and so on. I see so many christian prechers/scholars or whatever ... there 99% of the video are about islam. like why the hell they focuses solely on islam ? not a single videos on polytheism, idol worship, or anything. its just islam.

NOTE - i already know that there is nothing in bible to prove its a true guidance but just asking. May be a christian here can answer ?

Support/Advice Strained parental relationship

• Upvotes

Ever since I was a little girl, I think 7 or 8 , I remember being depressed. I didn't know what depression or anxiety meant at that age but being a student of psychology for the past 8 years I now recognize what it was I went through. I even attempted suicide 4 or 5 times at the age of 14 and 16 but I guess they were all weak attempts since I survived.

I have tears in my eyes right now and I don't know how to navigate or possibly explain my situation. I have tried everything possible to navigate it with tact but I always end up failing.

I was 5 years old when I heard my mother crying and screaming in the hospital after she had lost our twins. My father was in a foreign country and my mother was an orphan raised by her uncles, she used to cry to me and tell me that I was her mother , her sister , her father , her everything. the 5 year old child felt proud to be so important to her mother. she didn't know that she was facing the brunt of trauma dumping at the age of 5.

I was 7 years old when I was moved to an unknown country where my father lived by my mother, I didn't even know my father till I was 7, for a 7 year old he was practically a stranger, I didn't know how to feel about him and I guess he didn't know what to do with me either. our relationship has been strained ever since. He would beat me for bed wetting and nail biting and failing in school, which I guess I did all of that because of the anxiety and unfamiliarity of the new country. I had to leave behind my loving grandmother and grand father, my tayabo, my mother's cousins that all acted like my mamus and khalus. I guess I just missed it all.

I was 8 when I burned my hand for the first time trying to start a stove to make oats for my brother since my mother was on bedrest. I was eight when I first washed clothes full of baby poop and washed bathrooms all on my own. I didn't know all that was unusual, strange.

When I was 9 and my sister was about to be born, my mothers uncle, the one that raised her, noticed the burns on my hands and asked me what those were, I told him I got them while trying to light the stove, he called my grandmother immediately to that country.

when my grandmother arrived everything was fine for a while, until it wasn't. My mother , father and grandmother would all fight often and the reason would be me. My grandmother would scream at them over neglect of me , they would pinch and slap me in the other room and forbid me from crying lest she noticed, I learned to always hide my tears.

I didn't have any friends in school , no one would talk to me , I was abused at home and this is how life went, on and on and on....My whole childhood I just remembered crying and crying and crying, every night, every day. this is how my childhood went...

As an adult, I have now found confidence and good friends that make my life worth living, I even found connection with Allah but I am trapped. I am 26 with a masters degree and my parents won't let me work. I cannot just get up and leave my home, I don't have the strength in my nervous system to endure that. But now I'm tired of the abuse. I'm tired of trying to be strong and being the bigger person. I'm tired of hearing baduain of a bad daughter just because I forcefully persued my education and chose to enjoy my university years after years of being suicidal and depressed. I don't know what to do in life anymore , my parents forcefully do rishtas without my consent and then break it up without even asking me.

I have tried my best to fix my life, I run a charity organizations, give food and gifts to orphanages , my biggest dream in life is to run an orphanage so that I can give kids the happiness and love I never received.

My mother is narcissistic and gives me badduain and stops me from forming any sort of comforting relationship with any women of our khandaan (when she herself has good relationship with them) and my father only wants me to get married and leave his home since I am such a burden, he doesn't stand up for me or listen to me.

I have tried telling my situation to other adults in the family but they will never understand since they have a lot of empathy for my mother because they raised her. She manipulates everyone into hating me so much so that no one will even talk to me. I'm utterly alone , I have no one in this dunya. I hate that I'm still very attached to everyone in this family. I cannot help but look for their approval. I feel like I have wasted away myself trying to make them happy. I don't understand anything or don't know what to do. I'm a very loving person, I have no hate in my heart for anyone if they treat me nicely. I just want to be loved by my parents and family. I sometimes wonder if I'm the future I break all contact would it be sinful? I just want to make Allah happy but I'm suffering so much

Support/Advice Feeling down and Dua request

Assalamu alaykum,

I had gotten bad grades in the past due to poor time management. I remember this affected me really poorly, and I was feeling very stressed at the time.

I did hope to do better in these upcoming courses this year, as I want to graduate soon with a high gpa and get accepted into a good teachers college program.

This year, I was hopeful to do well in my courses. Right now, I saw my grades on 2 tests, and felt really dissapointed. I got some low grades. Maybe I should not have checked right before I slept as now im struggling to sleep, and feel bad.

I want to request if any duas can be made for my situation. Im feeling down. I have another upcoming test coming up too. Please make dua that I do well on my upcoming test, and that Allah helps me so I receive high grades on my courses. Pls make dua that Allah brings forward a miracle, helps me so I receive high grades in my courses, so all my school affairs go well with khair and I get accepted into a good teachers college program soon.

If there is any perspective that could be shared, I would appreciate it. Pls keep me in your duas. May Allah grant us goodness in this dunya and in the aakhira. May Allah be pleased with you.

Pls also make dua that Allah grants me peace in my heart and mind. I am really feeling bad..

Alhamdulilah Allah is the only one we call upon and the only one our hope lies in. May Allah help us all out.

Support/Advice Sincere Repentance (Tawbah)

• Upvotes

Sincere repentance (Tawbah Nasuhah) is genuine repentance in which a servant returns to Allah, regretting their sins and seeking His forgiveness and pleasure

Conditions of Sincere Repentance (Tawbah) :-

1. Abandoning the sin: A person must stop committing the sin they are repenting from. Repentance from a sin is not valid while they continue committing it.
2. Feeling remorse for the sin: A person must feel regret for having disobeyed Allah and recognize their shortcomings before Him.
3. Resolving not to return to the sin: A person must sincerely resolve not to commit the sin again. However, they are not required to guarantee that they will never fall into it in the future.
4. Restoring people’s rights: If the sin involves the rights of others, such as stealing their money or wronging them, those rights must be restored or forgiveness sought, as appropriate to the situation.
Do not despair of Allah’s mercy, no matter how many sins you have committed. Allah accepts the repentance of His servants when they sincerely turn back to Him.
If a person returns to a sin after having sincerely repented, this does not necessarily invalidate their previous repentance. Rather, they should repent again and return to Allah.

Question Got hit by a car and now am so grateful

Assalamualaikum,

I am a 17 year old boy, so basically today was happened was I met with an accident while I was on a bike. Alhamdulillah looking at the severity of the accident, not much happened to me. I got bruises, cuts on my knees and thats it. Before leaving from home I recited the dua, read quran before leaving, and was reciting surah fatiha while driving. I got hit, I fell down and my life flashed before my eyes. All I was seeing was blaze from my scooter from the scraping of my scooter on the ground. As soon as I stopped, the first thing that came out of my mouth was Alhamdulillah.

I agree I have done abit more than usual sins the past week, could Allah be forgiving my sins through this accident??

What lesson should I learn from this??

Discussion Made a video On Abu Lahya - Breaking down his claims

Assalamualaykum. I've made a video on Abu Lahya. In sha Allah, it will break down the things he says and what he doesn't say, and examine the marketing behind it.

He is not the only muslim course seller, so please be careful when you see people on your feed promising halal income. I'd recommend watching the video, or at least the important parts, which I've pinned in the comments.

Support/Advice not being able to out-of-state colleges

hi guys, i’m a muslim girl in her senior year who is hoping to leave her state to attend a prestigious/good out-of-state college because the opportunities in my state aren’t as good as those in other states, and i genuinely feel the need to be able to access those opportunities.

i’ve been really frustrated with my parents, and i constantly fight with them over this idea because this is the one exception they absolutely refuse to grant me. my dad is the main reason i’m not allowed to go, as he’s the one who gets angry and firmly refuses to let me leave the state for college. my mom tends to follow whatever he says, so even when i try to reason with her, she doesn’t really stand up for me or support my decision because she ultimately goes along with his wishes. it feels like i have no one in my family who is willing to listen to my perspective or advocate for me.

i find it hard to understand why they’re so persistent about this when i’m a high-achieving student and am confident that i can get good scholarships. when i asked whether they would let me go if i received a full ride or a substantial scholarship that covered the cost, they absolutely said no and didn’t care, so i know it’s not about finances.

nowhere does it say that it’s haram to move out for university, and it’s so unbelievably unfair because i promise i’m a good kid and haven’t done anything that would make them think otherwise. everyone around me gets to go wherever they want and take advantage of those opportunities, while i’m forced to stay here. i even see other muslim girls being allowed to go elsewhere for university.

my cousins back home can go to university elsewhere, but they’re required to have a family member accompany them. however, that isn’t easy for me because my parents and sibling are the only family i have, and they won’t go with me. this is especially frustrating because my parents don’t even have stable employment here, which makes the whole situation feel even more ridiculous.

please tell me what to do. i don’t care what it takes; this is the one thing i cannot bring myself to give up on, and i will do anything to be given the chance to attend a prestigious out-of-state college. i need to build a stable future for myself, and i genuinely feel that my state doesn’t offer me as many opportunities to do that.

Support/Advice How to deal with schizophrenia the halal way?

So I'm sure I have it now, I don't mean to be aggressive, insulting, or anything of that sort, it just happens. I'd really like to tell my story to someone else except Allah and his messengers, but I don't know what kind of help I should get? Allah knowing is enough for me, I just really want to tell my pain to anyone willing to listen, because it makes me feel better when I know I'm not the only one acting like this. Alhamdullilah, astagfirullah.

Question How to ask Allah to end my trials?

Salam Alaikum, dear brothers and sisters,

I make Du'a everybody's doing well.

I've been suffering for some time now and wanted to ask if there's any Du'a that I can make in order for these trials to end; It's getting unbearable rn and tired of hearing "Just have Sabr" again and again.

Nothing seems to be working out for me and I just feel lost. It feels as though I am hitting my head against a brick wall as every day feels the same.

I am tired of this misery and hate this cycle of gathering strength just to break down again; I don't want to displease Allah, however, I become frustrated and impatient and then complain to Him again.

My heart becomes heavy and I feel somewhat ashamed and ungrateful after I complain to Allah about my situation; I just feel as though I am displeasing my Rabb through it.

Your help would really be appreciated.

Jazakumullahu Khairan wa Salam Alaikum ❤️

Support/Advice Advice from ladies please

Salaam sisters,

I'm married and very lucky to stay home and have a really amazing marriage alhamdulillah.

The issue is my health, I have endometriosis adenomyosis and a few other conditions that are slowly reducing my life to nothing. I've had surgeries and take more medication than I ever imagined (opiates too which I really despise) - I understand how lucky I am to have treatments etc Subhanallah.

We tried for a family for a year but I miscarried in march and became very sick, I needed three surgeries and was in hospital for a long time. It was a very traumatic time for my husband and I but alhamdulillah it is done now.

We have decided maybe we should not try again for children as drs have said I'm still high risk for miscarriages and complications. And we are both happy to foster/adopt in the future inshallah.

One of my options for my next surgery is to have a total hysterectomy - I'm not taking this decision lightly and my husband will not have any comment on it (he refuses to comment on my body choices from hijab to surgery in anyway so I don't make choices based off his opinions, which I adore).

But I can't help but feel complete terror of waking up realising I will never, ever carry a child. I'm mortified this is even an option I have to consider but it is looking more likely by the month as my pain is just most days now taking morphine/tramadol, if I don't I'm being sick from the pain.

Alongside all of this, the constant guilt of being a awful, sick, useless wife is getting to me, we are only 27 and I feel as though I've ruined his life. He has never complained once, he's showered me, brushed my hair, done more for me than I could ever dream of, even though he's got a really intense job and his masters. I feel so lucky but so heartbroken all at once.

Have any sisters had a hysterectomy and been able to cope afterwards? Or dealt with guilt of health issues whilst married?

The only thing holding me together right now is my faith, alhamdulillah. But it's not easy, I'm scared.

Jazakallah Khair for any advice or help💖💐💖

Quran/Hadith The prophet said , “All the sons of Adam are sinners, but the best of sinners are those who are given to repentance.”

Explain of Hadith :-

Mistakes and sins are part of human nature. A person may have weak willpower or be overcome by desires, but this does not justify continuing to commit sins. Instead, one should not despair after making a mistake, but strive to improve oneself. The best of those who sin are those who frequently repent and seek Allah’s forgiveness, regret their sins, resolve not to return to them, and renew their repentance whenever they fall into sin
