This community has been months in the making and was created for the passionate members of r/MineralPorn and our sister Subreddits to have a dedicated space for discussions that go beyond what is allowed in our Subreddits.
Here, you can:

- dive into in-depth discussions about all things minerals.
- showcase artwork inspired by minerals.
- discuss pricing and value of minerals.
- advertise or discover vendors.
- participate in giveaways.

This Discord Server is not meant to replace r/MineralPorn or any of our sister Subreddits, but to empower and grow our community. Sometimes it's just nice to have a place to chat.
Our ultimate goal is to build a comprehensive database and an active, welcoming community for mineral enthusiasts of all kinds. Our moderators have spent countless hours researching minerals in order to provide you with educational content.

Really killer little Pyromorphite from Gaungxi with some great hoppering and stunning color. Almost looks like a floater with just a tiny attachment point (I think) right at that very bottom apex.

Real "Blue Cap" tourmaline - nicknamed "Rabbit Ears" - from Tourmaline Queen Mine, Pala, California, USA. It is probably elbaite/fluor-elbaite.
Obvious backlight distorts its real color, which is much less saturated - see the smaller crystal at the bottom of the cluster.

Modified/Treated Quartz Macro - Possibly Treated

This quartz has a very slight iridescent quality to it which seems to be magnified in this pic. It looks like it might have just a touch of titanium treatment to it - it's nowhere near as gaudy as the cheap stuff, but it looks unusual. It's a fairly large specimen, I believe I got it at a legitimate mineral shop in Montana.
