QUESTION What's the most SOOTHING skincare ever?
Immediate and intense redness relief, soothing red, rough patches on my skin and also redness from pimples. Still somewhat affordable and not expensive as Dr Jart cicapair. The skin1004 centella ampoule isn't soothing enough for me, and neither is the intensive ampoule with fermented centella. Thank you sm !!

QUESTION please help me choose a toner for oily, dehydrated, acne-prone skin!! 🥹
hii everyone!! i need some help deciding which toner(s) to get because i’ve been researching so many products and now i’m just overwhelmed 😭
for context, i have oily, dehydrated, acne-prone skin. my t-zone and cheeks get pretty oily, but the area around my mouth gets REALLY dry. i’m looking for something that can hydrate my skin, calm my acne, and preferably help with sebum control without making my skin feel greasy.
toners i’ve tried:
1. i’m from mugwort essence
i LOVED this essence!! it genuinely helped calm my skin so much. i noticed that my acne became less inflamed, healed faster, and i wasn’t breaking out as often while using it. unfortunately, i can’t find a trustworthy seller where i live anymore, so i’ve been looking for alternatives 🥲
i’ve also looked into other mugwort-based toners and essences, such as the missha artemisia calming essence, meditherapy mugwort super calming toner, and round lab mugwort calming toner, but unfortunately, none of these are easily accessible to me either 😭
on top of that, i’ve heard that i’m from recently reformulated their mugwort essence, which makes me a little hesitant to repurchase it even if i do manage to find it. i’m not sure whether the new formulation would provide the same calming and acne-soothing benefits that i loved about the original.
if anyone has tried both the old and reformulated versions, i’d love to hear whether you’ve noticed any differences in their effectiveness!!
2. numbuzin no.1 pure-full calming herb toner
i switched to this after the mugwort essence, and while it does help soothe my skin, i’m not really sure if it’s doing much? i feel like it calms my skin but that’s about it, and i’m honestly getting a little bored of using it HAHAHA. i want to try something that might do more for my skin.
also, i usually transfer my toners into spray bottles because i find it so much easier to apply, and it’s more convenient for travelling! so i’d preferably want something with a watery consistency that works well as a mist.
toners/mists i’m currently considering:
1. isntree green tea fresh toner + isntree ultra-low molecular hyaluronic acid toner
i’ve seen SO many people rave about the green tea toner for controlling sebum production, which is something i’m really interested in because my skin gets oily quite easily.
however, i’ve also read that it isn’t hydrating enough for some people, so i’m worried it might make my dehydrated skin feel even drier, especially around my mouth.
because of this, i’m thinking of getting the isntree ultra-low molecular hyaluronic acid toner as well! i could either layer both toners together or alternate between them in the morning and at night.
has anyone tried this combination? would it actually be beneficial, or is using two toners unnecessary?
2. dr. althea 345 relief cream mist + aqua marine jelly mist
these two have also caught my attention, especially because they already come in spray bottles, which is a HUGE plus for me!! i was thinking of either using them together or alternating between them for my AM and PM routines.
but i’m a little confused about whether these mists actually function like toners? can they replace a toner completely, or are they meant to be used as an additional step? i’m also wondering if the 345 relief cream mist might be too heavy for oily skin, or whether the aqua marine jelly mist would be hydrating enough on its own.
3. haruharu wonder black rice hyaluronic toner (unscented)
i’ve heard really good things about how hydrating this toner is, and it sounds promising for dehydrated skin!
my only concern is the texture. i’ve seen some people mention that it’s slightly thicker or more viscous than regular watery toners, which means it might not work well in a spray bottle 😭
is the hydration worth giving up the convenience of spraying my toner? and would it be suitable for oily, acne-prone skin?
4. bringgreen tea tree cica soothing toner
i used the serum version from this range before and absolutely LOVED it, so naturally i’m interested in trying the toner too!!
but i’m not sure if the toner is hydrating enough for dehydrated skin or if it’s mainly focused on soothing acne and irritation. if anyone has tried both the serum and toner, i’d love to know how they compare!
what i’m looking for:
- something that provides good hydration without making my face greasy or sticky
- helps calm redness, inflammation, and acne (similar to the i’m from mugwort essence!!)
- ideally helps with excess sebum production
- gentle enough for everyday AM and PM use
- preferably lightweight and watery enough to use in a spray bottle
- helps with dehydration, especially around my mouth
which of these would you guys recommend for my skin type? i’d especially love to hear from people who have oily but dehydrated, acne-prone skin and have tried any of these products!!
also, if you have any other korean toners or facial mists that you swear by, PLEASE recommend them!! i’m completely open to other suggestions too 🫶
sorry for the super long post HAHAHA, and thank you in advance!! 💗
TL;DR: i have oily, dehydrated, acne-prone skin with an oily t-zone/cheeks but really dry skin around my mouth. i LOVED the i’m from mugwort essence because it helped calm my acne and reduce breakouts, but i can’t find a trustworthy seller anymore, and other mugwort alternatives aren’t accessible to me either 😭 currently deciding between isntree green tea fresh toner + ultra-low molecular hyaluronic acid toner, dr. althea 345 relief cream mist + aqua marine jelly mist, haruharu wonder black rice hyaluronic toner (unscented), and bringgreen tea tree cica soothing toner. looking for something that hydrates, soothes acne, and ideally controls excess oil without feeling heavy or greasy! i also prefer watery toners that can be used in a spray bottle. would love to know which one(s) you’d recommend, whether combining two toners is worth it, or if there are better alternatives!! 🫶

Which Korean skincare brand have you heard of the most?
As a Korean aesthetician, what surprises me when talking to non-Korean clients is that they often use brands that aren't well-known in Korea.
I understand that skin types and target markets can be different, but what are some of the most representative Korean skincare brands that foreigners actually know about?
I want to check out those brands too and find out why clients like them so much. Then, I'll compare them with what local Koreans actually use in their daily routines

QUESTION rejuran va plinest
based in singapore and i’ve been to a few clinics that offered either plinest or rejuran, with the former being more expensive hailing from italy and the OG that started PN skin boosters. The doctor mentions plinest had longer lasting effects than rejuran but I’m not sure. Wonders if anyone did rejuran and plinest and felt a difference? is plinest better since they rea the OG and also cost more?

PSA Already tried acne scar treatments? What to bring to a consultation in Seoul
I’m a dermatologist at DATENA Clinic in Seoul. If you’re coming to Korea for acne scar treatment after trying something elsewhere, one useful thing to bring is a rough history of what you’ve already had done.
It’s completely normal to remember a previous treatment as just “laser,” but that can mean quite different procedures. If you still have an appointment message, receipt, or treatment record, look for the exact name. Note roughly when you had it, how many sessions you did, and whether you noticed a change. If recovery took longer than expected or you had a reaction that concerned you, mention that too. Also note any acne medication you’re currently using or have recently stopped.
You don’t need perfect records. A few notes on your phone are enough to start the conversation. If another clinic suggests a similar treatment, you can ask, “How is this plan different from what I tried before?”

Botox in Seoul Beyond Forehead/Masseter — Clinic Recs?
Going to Seoul in less than 2 weeks! ’hoping to find someone who does some of the less standard areas —
-lip flip
-brow lift
-nose
-jelly roll/under eyes
In addition to the standard forehead/crow’s feet/TMJ.
Also want to do my Platysmal bands, traps and armpits, and skin Botox, some lasers and possibly Sculptra or Juvelook. Ideally looking for treatments I can continue in some capacity (maybe not the exact same product) back home.
Thoughts on doing everything at one really good clinic or go to different places depending on what they specialize in?
Would love any recs/experiences!!

Mascara for short, straight lashes
My lashes used to be much longer - albeit straight - but since perimenopausing, i noticed it’s getting shorter. So I need new mascara! To those with similar eyelashes, what’s your favorite? I prefer a more natural looking one for daily use - as I don’t wear that much makeup to begin with. I’m also taking recs for eyelash serums, if you noticed that has helped you. Thank you!

ISO Klargen Lactobath Cleanser
ISO Klargen Lactobath Inner Cleanser - a Korean beauty staple! I have only ever seen it offered from Korean Group Buy’s. Does anyone have a recommended US Retailer or Vendor? Not opposed to a Group Buy as long as it’s reputable and authentic product

QUESTION Trip to Seoul! Clinic recs?
Hiii I am originally from the US and traveling to Seoul for a few days. I am 26 y/o male with mild acne, acne scarring, larger pores, and looking to get a basic facial and any other treatments recommended.
Was hoping to find a skin analysis consultation along with a facial and maybe very basic treatments (like maybe Botox in between my brows just to try; have never had Botox). Any recs for friendly clinics that are easy to book an experience? Also was hoping for a place that could recommend products because I am very overwhelmed, but love all things skincare!

Fwee Setting/Fixing Spray
I have really dry skin and want a setting spray that doesn't make me look cakey, especially around my nose since I have a bit of texture there from my sebaceous filaments. There's apparently 3 different ones, normal, cooling, and hydrating I think? If you've tried any of them I'd love to know. Thanks so much!

Rejuran vs. Juvelook Skin in Korea: What's the Difference?

Found my go to store!
So I’ve ordered from a few places now and my main concern is fast shipping. I don’t know if it’s also because I’m from CA, but Olive Kollection has been the fastest shipping option for me. I’ve done my research and see that they’re verified sellers of brands and has been around and trusted since 2018. Has anyone else heard of them?

SKIN Pico sure side effects
Hi, I did pico sure for sun spots on my face in Korea 10 days ago. I started noticing big patches of dark skin ; shadow like; almost melasma on upper face. I hope it fades and didn’t trigger melasma.
Anyone experience anything similar?

SKIN Hi! I'm planning skin treatments in Seoul soon- is Rejuran actually worth doing if you're only visiting for a week?
I'll be in Seoul for about eight days next month and trying to sort out what's actually doable in that window. Rejuran keeps on popping up everywhere but I can't tell if the downtime makes sense for a quick trip like this. Plus it sounds like you really need several sessions for noticeable results, and I'm only going to be there once, so not sure it's even worth it as a one-off. Has anyone just gone for a single round of Rejuran while visiting?
I've been searching for clinics close to Yeouido since that's where I'll be staying and Dami Clinic keeps getting mentioned, and I noticed they offer lasers and various skin stuff too and not just injectables. Actually seems like it good be a possible good sort for a consult at least, just so I could figure out what's realistic for such a short stay. If anyone's traveled to Seoul though and fit in skin treatments, I'd love to know how you made it work with recovery time and all that.

QUESTION Puljim Hand Cream Alternative?
Are there any other long lasting or high quality hand cream that smells similar to PULJIM The Dyeing Jasmine? I really like the smell of it. It can be body lotion, perfume, body wash, literally anything.

QUESTION Shampoo Recommendations - Have You Used These?
So I’ve been using Labo-H shampoos for quite a while and I think I want to explore other brands. One thing to keep in mind is that years ago when I had long curly hair, I used Dr.ForHair Folligen shampoo and according to my hair stylist, my hair looked like a broom as it was super dry. But since I have short hair now I have been using Labo-H shampoo and I want to explore other brands. I am down to the following and my main concern is hair loss (but I’m taking minoxidil and finasteride already). I want a healthy scalp but most importantly I want healthy looking hair. I am switching from Labo-H Scalp Strengthening Shampoo.
Here are my choices - help me select for those of you who have used these before:
- Dr.ForHair Folligen Thickening Shampoo
- RYO Hair Loss Expert Care Shampoo (Oily)
- RYO Root:Gen Oil Balancing Shampoo
I’m open to other brands as well. Only reason why it has to be Korean is because I need to spend a gift card on a Korean skincare site.

QUESTION Is there something about your face you'd never want an aesthetic treatment to change?
I hear a lot about what patients want to improve during consultations.
But I'm equally interested in what they want to keep.
Their natural expressions, the way they smile, or simply the feeling of looking like themselves.
Is there something about your face you'd never want to change, even if a treatment could technically improve it?
