Success Story Success Story Mega Thread - Got your BFP? We want to hear about it!

This is your space to share your success story with the community that cheered you on. Whether it took you 1 cycle or 12, your story matters and someone out there needs to hear it right now.

When sharing please include anything you feel comfortable with such as how many cycles it took, what you were tracking, what worked for you, and anything you wish you had known at the start.

When sharing your story feel free to use this format:

  • Cycles it took:
  • What I tracked/tools:
  • What I think helped:
  • Anything I wish I knew at the start:
  • Any advice for others still in the TWW:
  • A few things to keep in mind:

This thread is for everyone who has been trying for any length of time. All success stories are valid here, whether cycle 1 or cycle 12+. Please be kind and keep any negative thoughts to yourself.

Please don't tag other users in your post. You can absolutely thank people, just don't tag them directly. This keeps the thread comfortable for everyone, including those who may find BFP posts difficult to see.

If you have nothing kind to add, please scroll on.

Comments that are unkind or gatekeeping will be removed.

Congratulations and welcome to the next chapter! 🌸

Hey everyone! A few quick updates from the mod team 💛

Nothing major, just some housekeeping to make the sub easier to navigate for everyone. Thanks in advance for bearing with us!

  • Flairs got a refresh — We updated the post flairs, so please use them when you post! It just makes it way easier for people to scroll and find exactly what they're looking for (or avoid what they're not in the mood for). If you feel like we're missing one, drop a comment or shoot us a message, we're always open to suggestions.
  • BFPs go in the megathread — We've got a pinned Success Stories megathread and we'd love for all the exciting news to live there so we can celebrate together in one spot!
  • Discharge pics need a trigger warning — If you're posting about discharge and want to add a pic, please use the Trigger Warning flair, blur the image, and pop it in the comments rather than the main post. Small thing, but it keeps the feed comfy for everyone scrolling.
  • Line eyes? We've got you, but keep pics in the comments — We all know that feeling of staring at a test way too long trying to decide if that's a line or a shadow. Totally normal, no judgment! Just use the "Line Eyes - Help!" flair and keep the pictures in the comments instead of the post itself. Reason being, when posts get flooded with test pics, it can be harder for yours (and everyone else's) to actually get seen and get the support you need. This just helps spread the love around a bit better

Just a heads up: posts that don't follow the line eyes or discharge picture guidelines will be removed, so we really appreciate you helping us keep this consistent for everyone.

Thanks so much for helping us keep this space easy to use and kind, as always. Questions or ideas? Drop them below, we read everything!

Frustrated Is everyone out there getting positives on 9dpo ??

What’s going on that everyone on Reddit seem to be getting positives on 9dpo. I tested today per clearblue app and got negative, and got really bummed thinking well this cycle is a bust for me. Do I keep testing every day? This is a lot, I am very tired of peering in cups and on sticks half the month.

Am I crazy for feeling disheartened? Kinda wanna give up and just not test anymore for anything. It’s my birthday tomorrow and I don’t know if I can deal with more disappointments in the day.

Also looks like my cycle is very textbook, 28 days with ovulation on CD 14 so idk why I don’t have textbook early positive arghhhhhh

FF says 8, Premom says 9. Side note that I quit temping once I confirm ovulation each month, just to give myself a bit of a mental health break from data gathering.

Any chart experts out there?

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here… I’m 9 or 10 DPO based on a previous LH surge. I think I see a line but I’m not sure. What do you think? Also excuse my dusty lamp!

TW MENTION OF LOSS

I hate how many overlapping PMS symptoms mix with possible pregnancy. My husband (29) and I (27) have been trying for a baby for a year almost exactly. I had a loss in June (was only 5 weeks) and had a D&C in September due to a suspected polyp. We started trying again this month (after being cleared by dr) and I honestly think I \*COULD\* be pregnant...emphasis on could. Im not able to test yet and it is driving me up a flippin wall. I just want to know so I can talk with my dr and get a plan going...Ive had 2 losses and have no "medical" reason for them. I want to be pregnant, but Im also terrified because neither one of my pregnancies made it beyond 6 weeks. Im supposed to start my period tomorrow and each day is just crawling by. I just want to either take a positive test or hurry up and have my period so I can stop this mental agony. The reason I can't also test yet is because I think I ovulated later this month (symptoms and ended up having a small ovarian cyst rupture late in my cycle). I know it is a couple days at most until I may start....but every moment that passes has me wanting to cry with anxiety and anticipation. Ive also been having weird symptoms and I keep psyching myself out knowing full well it could just be hormone changes. Also, the fact that it can take a couple cycles before its normal again after a D&C so I very well could be late and still test negative. I feel pitiful. Things could be so much worse. Im just so impatient and wish I could just know right now. I had so much trauma with this most recent loss. Im just a mess 🤦‍♀️

Question/Advice Isn’t my prolactin too low now?

It turned out that my prolactin was high — 699 mIU/L, which can sometimes interfere with ovulation (and in my case, folliculometry confirmed that I didn’t ovulate at all).
I was prescribed cabergoline (Dostinex), 0.5 mg once a week for 8 weeks, and I’ve completed the course. I had my prolactin tested again today, and it dropped all the way down to 17.5 mIU/L!
I’m going to see my doctor tomorrow, but I still wanted to ask here: is this too low? For those of you who took medication to lower your prolactin, how long did it take for you to conceive? How many cycles after starting treatment did you get your BFP? 💗

Venting First Ovulation On My TTC Journey Not Going As Planned But Maybe I Am Just Anxious

This past Sunday was supposed to be my first ovulation after having my IUD removed. It was a copper one so my cycle should have pretty much stayed the same from what I was told. Over the past six months or so though, I was preparing and learning what I could. And the last two months especially, I starting testing LH and tracking my BBT just so I had an idea of my windows.

Last month and the month prior I didn't get a positive LH test but the levels were really high. My BBT (through my Oura Ring) showed "ovulation". So I thought I was in a good place.

But this month, the one month I was actually able to concieve, I didn't get as high of an LH test and my BBT never rose.

I'm 31 and I know that this takes time and I am only two days past my window. But I am little discouraged being that everything seemed positive until the time came.

I am also keeping my TTC journey to just myself and my partner right now. I don't really want the extra pressure and questions, so maybe I am just looking for someone to tell me to chill out.

Confused Ovulation Timing and Tracking

We are on our 6th cycle trying and have been tracking ovulating through LH strips. My cycle is usually 25/26 days, and my strips have been showing I am likely ovulating around CD 13/14. However, I had my 6 month OB appointment and she said based on my cycle length I am probably ovulating earlier around CD 11, despite the LH strips. Has anyone else’s doctor told them not to follow the LH strips but rather cycle length predictions? While it’s not wildly off I’m worried we’ve been timing it wrong and now I don’t have confidence in either!

Sad Going on month 6

Just here to admit to myself that at the beginning of our TTC I was fine waiting, and just until a month or two ago I was still happy to wait, but literally in the last month or two, I’ve seen like five people announce pregnancy… Strong Christian faith, so I’m not depressed or anything, but definitely looking at others with pure happiness and still wondering why not me. :(

TWW Early symptoms before positive?

Hey guys I was just curious what your symptoms were before you tested positive? I feel different this time and I’m really hoping I get a positive finally. I’ve been trying for awhile. I used to track with ovulation strips but it got really stressful after so many negative results that I just stopped doing that and just baby danced as much as possible without tracking. I did try the Frida conception cup this time so maybe that helped ! Let me know, I’d love to know everyone else’s experience !!!

I’m 2 years into my TTC journey and I want to rant about something quickly because I feel social media has once again pissed me off lol.

I can’t stand when a woman is posting on social media regarding their infertility for the last 2,3,4,5 years and someone decides that’s the post they’re going to comment their very clearly positive pregnancy test with the caption along the lines of “does anyone else see it or is it just line eyes” like there aren’t line eyes forums or other platforms for that kind of thing. It is so inconsiderate and frustrating and depressing.

Congratulations but commenting your positive pregnant test that can be seen from space on a woman struggling with infertility is so insanely socially unaware and ignorant it’s not even funny, and I see it ALL THE TIME.

Ok rant over thank you!
