News Elden Ring Movie Runtime Could Reach Nearly 3 Hours
3 hours is not enough! Tarnished will take at least an Hour to beat the tree sentinel and atleast an hour and a half to beat Margit

Since the sub is being overwhelmed by debate over the $5 "microtransaction" and it's making the sub feel like we're Dark Souls 2 a decade ago, with the faux outrage around the preorder items, we are opening this topic to consolidate discussion around the issue.
Please use this topic to discuss the pros and cons of the approach and your thoughts. But do so RESPECTFULLY and CONSTRUCTIVELY. If you need to call other people or the developers names, you don't have a good argument and your post will be removed.
We will remove all other topics about this to keep the subreddit flowing with other discussions
IF YOU WANT TO VOTE: I will post two comments on this topic, "Yay" and "Nay" - upvote the one you agree with and we'll see who wins long term.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026
We aren't entirely sure if anything else will be included but feel free to speculate and dream!

Does anyone else find some of the big enemies cute? I think there are a handful that would make excellent plush toys. This guy in particular. I hate fighting it, but I find it adorable.

Coming out of stormveil to be greeted with this view is a feeling no other game has captured

Is there any way to actually avoid seeking audience with Emperor Ungato? Or is having a hostile relationship with Triangulus a scripted part of the game? NG+3 and have yet to come across a different outcome

Compared to Dark Souls II, which had 3 DLCs, and Dark Souls III, which had 2, Elden Ring is way more successful commercially but only has 1 DLC. Is there a chance it will get more?
The Tarnished Edition is great, but it's just customization.
Some of y'all know FromSoftware and its titles way better than I ever will, so I'm curious: why does their most commercially successful title seem comparatively slept on when it comes to DLCs?

Been a long ride 130 hours to beat base game and dlc on my first playthrough while defeating every major boss planned to do a ng+ run but PCR made me have a change of tune it was that bad as you can see by the bs armour combo I have on (all had the highest holy damage negation in my inventory)i was willing to try anything by this point even took all armour off to try light rolling 😂I need a break so I’m gonna go play dark souls 3 for the first time lol. But this game was super fun who was y’all’s top 5 hardest bosses to take down? I’ve already decided every ng+ I do ,I’m not fighting pcr again genuinely worst experience of my life

Finished this game like 10 times sometimes ago and felt like starting the game again after a few months.
I want to start a new game but I want some ideas on some ways I can play this run, something really different that will give me a really different experience.
I was thinking about doing a challenge where if I find a weapon, I will have to use it until I find another one; but it will be really interesting to see what y'all can come up with!!!

#1. PCR solo took me 4 hours the first time, still the longest time it took me to defeat a boss. He doesn't have the most complex moveset, but he heavily punishes you for mistakes. Also, punish opportunities are few and far between, and if you get greedy in phase 2, the holy light beams will stunlock you and he will combo you to death.
#2. Malenia solo took me nearly 3 yours the first time. I think the biggest obstacle I faced with her was that she operated differently than every other boss in the main game, because you have to be very aggressive against her and learn her moves well enough that she can't siphon all her health back. I still love the back-and-forth of this fight, which is why she's my Top 2 in this game.
#3. Inner Father was brutal for me. I struggled with Owl (Father), and Inner Father was basically him but on steroids. The Mist Raven combo is extremely punishing and will one-shot you from max health. It is extremely fast so deflecting it is very tough; you mostly have to play passive-aggressively against him cuz Owl will do the combo if you're too aggressive (but you also can't be too passive cuz he will gain all his posture back).

I bet this place smells like musty library books and wildfire smoke 24/7. Well done Michaelzaki I've only been here five minutes and I'm already feeling the misery seeping in.
