[Pompei] Bo Nix’s family took in high school teammate Tez Johnson. Then came an ‘absolute miracle’

The scar on Tez Johnson’s forearm is a couple of inches long, maybe an inch wide.

“It’s Bo’s fault,” Tez says. “You can tell him I said that, too.”

Bo is Bo Nix, Tez’s quarterback at Pinson Valley High in Alabama in 2018, who now plays for the Denver Broncos. Tez was Bo’s star wide receiver.

Their opponent, Clay-Chalkville, ran a corner cat blitz in which the cornerback came hard off the edge. Bo tried to throw Tez a bubble screen pass to the side of the blitzing defender, but the corner torpedoed Tez, helmet to forearm, sending him flying and leaving a gash.

In every game he’s played, Tez has been the smallest player on the field. But he also has been one of the most resilient. His breath was lost to the Alabama sky on that hit, and blood flowed. Then Tez brushed off the grass and cobwebs, had his arm bandaged and hurried back to catch 17 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns.

He scored seven more touchdowns that year and 12 the next. Tez followed that with 29 in college. As an NFL rookie last year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — a 5-foot-10, 152-pound rookie — he had five more. On Sunday, he scored his first touchdown of 2026 in Carolina on a 14-yard pass from Baker Mayfield. That’s 47 touchdowns in eight years.

And after his touchdowns, he often celebrates with backflips — high in the air, graceful, stick-the-landing-on-a-lentil backflips.

So he’s known for touchdowns and backflips, not a scar.

But that scar tells his story.

It’s a story about being wounded.

And about being healed.

Broncos Bar near Durham or Winston-Salem, NC

I know it's a long shot, but I'm traveling this weekend for a wedding, and will be in Durham and Winston-Salem on Sunday. Considering it's the KC Revenge game, just looking for someplace fun to watch the game with like minded folks.

Question for the everyone that has given up on Bo Nix

I hate hypotheticals, but I also hate seeing so many posts in the game threads and everywhere else that Bo sucks and he should be benched.

Bo Nix + 1st Round Pick
Trey McBride + Carson Beck

You're getting the best TE in the league that is worth a first round pick. You get your wish and get rid of Bo Nix. Curious to see who would do that trade.

For the record, I would never do this trade. I fully support Bo Nix as our quarterback. I'm just tired of hearing all these "bronco fans" wanting to bench him every time he throws an incomplete pass or whatever. This is to put them to task. If they hate him so much I want to know if they would do this trade.

[Schefter] Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency.

Jonah Coleman is Denver Broncos Best Running Back; Time for him to Get More Snaps

Jonah Coleman is the best back on the team. We all see it.

He out-snapped J.K. Dobbins 30-14 last week and needs to continue to lead the team in snaps. Even Sean Payton said he needs more.

Film of every run he had last week inside the article too. Go Broncos!

The outcome of the chiefs game this week will determine trade activity

I believe this week will play a crucial part in deciding wether or not the broncos chose to be aggressive in the trade market. If Denver wins, I see them going all in on a player or 2. What player that will be, or what position that would be, would be determined on how well Jonah Coleman does. If he balls out, I think broncos do not pursue a running back. If Denver loses, I feel we just roll with what we have. Losing 2 to the chiefs would make it very hard to win the division.

Getting to The Game. RTD from Westminster/Arvada to Mile High?

Post image
27 Upvotes

Hi all! I’ll be headed down this Sunday for the game and was curious if anyone has taken the RTD from either Westminster Station or Olde Town Arvada Station to Empower Field? (Believe a switch at Union Station)

How easy was it? How long was the ride and walk from train to stadium? Overly crowed after the game?

Just looking for some input from anyone who might have don’t this before. This will be my first time at mile high for a football game and super stoked. GO BRONCOS!

Do you honestly see us making any trades before the deadline?

I'm sure everyone loves the idea of a big trade that could help boost our team, whether it's offense or defense. But do you actually think we will do anything or is it going to be more of a just keep moving forward with the team we got.

RB sounds good but I honestly don't want to take away from Harvey or Coleman.

Maybe TE or O-line (Ben Powers or Mike)

For defense the only thing I'd want is a great Inside LB who can cover the pass.

Did we fumble Javonte Williams ?

How is Javonte killin it as soon as he left Denver? Last year almost 1400 yards from scrimmage and 13 TDs. This year he already has 8 scores and racking up yards on MNF.

I don’t get it, where was all of this when he was in Denver ? Terrible injury 2nd year but what about year three and four ? How did we miss so badly on this ?
