This is the wildest attempt to smear Jamie Ager I think I've seen so far, and maybe the wildest political ad I've seen in a long time. AI slop, bigoted, stupid.
It just highlights how little Jennifer Balkcom knows about the community she's trying to represent.
Crazy that the campaign feels it needs to somehow try to vilify HNG big barn events- which are the most important community events for Fairview.

I went to the Grove Arcade in Asheville and this was among the flyers there, and all I have to say is wtf?? I'm a visitor to Asheville and this AI slop that wasn't even edited, let alone the owner's defensive reply, made a poor impression on me.
That was the owner's reply when I emailed them at their public address

Update!: So many people want to take action!
We can report his payment accounts! Report them as scam/fraud as he is defrauding people about being homeless. Disrupt his cashflow! He has two one on cashapp and one on paypal!

Update2!: email the Asheville Housing Authority and demand accountability and an investigation: info@haca.org
So many people have awful stories about this guy. why on Earth does he get free housing when downtown employees struggle themselves and have to put up with him? He’s banned from like 50% of businesses downtown.

I’ve tried to learn more about city council’s incumbents in preparation for next week’s election.
What has stood out to me the most is Sheneika’s total absence from the race. From what I’ve gathered she rarely shows up to city council meetings, hardly, if ever, responds to constituent emails, and has not disclosed her endorsements or donors. I want to like her solely for the fact that she’s a local but I am finding it very difficult.
Sure, all of the city council incumbents have failed to appease in one way or another but it really seems that Sheneika simply does not give a flying frick about anything.

Hi everyone,
I was planning on going to vote either today or tomorrow when I realized that the church right around the corner from me, where I usually vote, doesn't have the early voting signs out. I've voted at this location 2 elections in a row, and it is VERY convenient for me.
I just looked up voting locations and noticed that there seem to be significantly fewer locations than normal this election cycle. Has anyone else noticed this, or am I going crazy?

Starts around minute 42 and covers our RTIC and how Kim forced the rest of City Council to actually listen to their constituents.

Does anyone have context for why Asheville doesn’t do a great job at making sure all streets have signs?
Is there a reason why this is harder here than in other cities? I never see or hear anyone talk about this and I would assume for a city so concerned with tourism we would prioritize ability to navigate around.
Does it have anything to do with the fact that many of our stoplights are span wire traffic cables rather than rigid metal masts?

Hey y'all. Anybody have any recommendations? I'm aware that these types don't tend to take insurance. Looking for someone to help with the Bredesen protocol for preventing/reversing dementia and cognitive decline, if you're curious. I'm also aware that it's "unproven" but want to try it at least to some extent and see if it helps anyway. Thanks!

After Helene, much of our water and food was shipped in from outside. The next disaster could hit many places at once (a grid failure, or a cyberattack on water systems), and that help may not come.
I couldn’t find any public plan for keeping Asheville’s water and food flowing for weeks on our own.
So I wrote an open letter asking city and county leaders, and every candidate for Mayor and City Council, to commit to six concrete steps toward a viable disaster plan. Their answers are due Monday, November 2, the day before the election, and every response (and non-response) will be published unedited.
If you agree, please sign. It takes under a minute, and you can sign publicly or privately. This is fully independent and nonpartisan.

There were firefighters, EMS, and smoke everywhere. And everyone looked freaked out. What just happened?

Hi I would like to start a vaudeville show, I have tons of ideas in this phase. Think something like beyond vaudeville type concept…people come and perform, we have a host etc. but more of a dreamy set, I can go on. However, as it is in the very baby baby baby beginnings of starting I am curious if people would be interested in participating in regards to:
act
filming
costumes
set
ideas
fun
beer?
I unfortunately have no money at the time to offer just looking to see if other artists are interested in this and I can elaborate more about it if weirdo vaudeville and puppets and dance and sad clowns speak to you. all are welcome unless you are hateful and mean and a bully. that’s whack and I don’t want that.

A friend and I are wanting to do some local volunteering as we get closer to Thanksgiving; we both have younger kids (5 y/o) that’d we’d like to involve with this but are conscious of choosing a charity or opportunity that would be feasible for a young child to help with. Obviously not wanting to do road cleanup or something that would require caution or too much physical labor.
Any thoughts or ideas on this?

Looking for recommendations for house cleaning services. I have a roughly 1200' apartment I'd like cleaned biweekly, preferably not by a corporation, but not opposed depending on rates.
Thanks!

Is there a place or person in/around town that can diagnose and repair synth issues?
