THDG Need Help CANNOT get a job interview!

Am I missing something??

Had to quit my job in June this year (toxic small business situation) without a backup. I’m 30, and have extensive administrative experience in community health, grants admin, family violence, the arts…

Everything I’m applying for is entry level, I’m mostly looking at council and VPS roles, but ZILCH! I’m really starting to feel crazy, and poor. Have been getting by on Centrelink and fixed roles at the Census and upcoming election but man I don’t know what else I can do.

Are there many others in a similar posi? Any HR/recruiters have any advice on how to stand out?

I’m looking for mid century English porcelain/china flying duck trio in an antique shop in Melbourne.

Understandably many of them don’t have websites so I need to is if you have seen any recently?

Anything like this. Flying duck trio

They can sometimes be called Beswick Mallard ducks or Jemma Holland flying ducks.

Light and Fluffy News “The struggle itself towards the heights is enough to fill a man’s heart”

After years of hardwork and since landing here 8 years ago as an eighteen year old,
I have finally had my Australian Permanent Residency granted on Monday.

That was truly a surreal feeling and I am extremely grateful that I will now be able to call this beautiful country my home.

Employer Nominated Scheme, same employer for last 8 years almost.

The sky is the ceiling here,I don’t think many people realise that how good people have it here and despite few issues that every country has, it is still probably the best country to live in.
How do I become more Australian tho btw?

Light and Fluffy News I walked from Melbourne CBD to Dromana

Have seen a couple fellow lunatics post their long walks here, so figured I'd show mine from back in April. 24 hour walk, 102km covered (24 hours elapsed, 22 hours moving between shitting, eating and dying). $2,000 raised for RCD foundation. Why? Why not. Unimaginable pain. 10/10.

Also seeking ideas for other stupidly hard fitness expeditions. I'm thinking 10 laps of the 1000 steps in Ferntree Gully a day. I have already ridden 100 laps of the MCG before, so no need to suggest that one

THDG Need Help Need Gyne/Fertility specialist?

Hi,

I need some recommendations in or around Melbourne and someone to guide me into what subspecialty I should even be looking at?

I have had vulvodynia since Jan most likely due ti eczema/skin issues. I am seeing a really good vulval dermatologist for that who is methodical and I like sticking with her.

On a separate note my AMH is on the lower end of normal and I had plans to get pregnant this year and now sex is not even possible. I am also curious about a potential hormonal side to all the vulvodynia pain I have been having.

Given I am content with the dermatologist I think I want someone to review my tests and guide me around likely how long I have to get pregnant? If I need to be looking at freezing my eggs or ivf given I probably have months and months ahead to sort out my vulvodynia.

I am mot yet at a stage to want to get started on the baby plans - but I might if time is running out.

Who should I see? A fertility physician? General gynecologist…?

Any specific specialist recommendations would be much appreciated.

THDG Need Help Panic disorder/severe anxiety psychologist

Hi everyone!

I feel a little silly having to post on reddit to find an answer to this.. But im hoping for recommendations from people who have personally had a good experience with a psychologist (can be telehealth/not physically in melbourne) who helped them through panic disorder or severe, crippling anxiety. I have a current psych who specialises in neuro-affirming therapy but I find shes just not really able to guide me or advise me much with how bad my panic disorder has gotten. (Already on meds, already in touch with my gp, have had lifelong anxiety issues and am not looking for medical advice/medication advice)

Any recommendations for a certified psychologist who has experience with panic disorder (frequent and debilitating panic attacks and constant anxiety) would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Health Doctors in Melbourne

Anyone else finding it impossible to book an appointment with a bulk billing doctor these days? Most aren’t accepting new patients and if you want a female doctor you may as well forget about it. I live in the CBD and feel like I have to travel to the outer suburbs to find a good doctor. Anyone else having this issue or am I doing something wrong?

THDG Need Help Overseas volunteer work

Hey everyone, I’m looking to head overseas from November through to Christmas to do some practical work and hopefully make a genuine difference somewhere.
I’ve had a rough patch recently and want to get out of my usual environment, challenge myself and put my energy into something worthwhile.
I’m not interested in those expensive voluntourism trips where you pay $5,000 to do unpaid work and make yourself feel good. I’d rather find a legitimate community project, farm, conservation effort or reconstruction project where I can actually contribute.
I’ve got experience in construction, mechanics, farming, photography and videography. Happy to work hard and live simply.
Does anyone know of any genuine opportunities or organisations worth looking into?

THDG Need Help Traffic control companies in Melbourne that pay EBA rates

I work as a traffic controller in Melbourne, though want to get with a company that have EBA rates, which are higher than normal traffic companies. Google seems to be out of touch with current ones. Apart from MC labour, does anyone know which ones are worth applying to? Thx
